  1. If i am ever on a cruise that serves there (Liberty doesn't) I will be sure to pack a bottle of thick beef gravy to really do these things Buffalo NY style ("Beef on Weck"!!)
  2. Alas, there is no compass for the LoS Roatan, Balize, Cozumel trip (there is one for Raotan, Costa Mia, Cozumel though)
  3. Here is the site I used. I wear progressives so I simply asked my doctor what the prescription would be for about 12-20 feet distance and bought the goggles with that setting. worked fine for my day in the Grand Caymans last year! https://www.getwetstore.com/prescription-mask/promate-pro-slender-prescription-scuba-dive-purge-mask-rx-able-mk285-rx.html
  4. Goggles with glasses is virtually impossible. For my cruise last year I bought my own pair of prescription goggles for about $60.
  5. This is just about the dumbest thing ever! A juvenile that never grew up?
  6. The worst case scenario is that the luggage with fluids in it will be held and you will get a note saying to come down to the area where they are holding it. They will have you open it to confirm the liquids are non-alcohol and give it back to you. This is precisely what happened to me in January. My wife had stomach surgery and drinks virtually nothing but "ice" (lightly carbonated flavored water). I bought her 24 bottles of it at the Galveston Wal-Mart and loaded them all into a small roll-on suitcase. Sure enough all my bags arrived in my room but that one. A short time later I got a card instructing me where to go and specifying that the luggage was being held for possible alcohol. The purser had me open the bag and as soon as he saw the bottles, gave me the okay and me and my luggage made our way back to the room (I did NOT have to explain my wife's situation). No problems! Okay, I guess that isnt the "worst case scenario". That would be they confiscate it and you are simply out the cost of the beverage.
  7. Not new but no need to respond to the question if your base currency is U.S. dollars
  8. Pretty sure it will involve Cococay or Labadee
  9. I know it is wishful thinking to hope they will replace Cozumel with Caymans on my cruise but I really want to get back to Caymans for the Stingrays (underwater earthquake cancelled it on my first cruise!), but have little desire to do the Coz/Cay/Jam cruise again.
  10. I see Cozumel as highly problematic. While the island itself is considered safe (at this time), eliminating all the excursions that require a ferry really narrows down the variety of quality activities available.
  11. Agree with Toodle68! I have migrated DBs at least as complicated as RC's (like NASA's space object DB) and you never simply take down the old. DB complexity is irrelevant to process & risk mitigation. In my line of business folks get fired for snafus like this!
  12. It is like they are programming on the fly, when they really should put the old site back up and work on this off-line. Now there is in fact a "planner" link on my cruise box but once you click on it you are presented the same "Reservation Look-Up" panel that you would get from the main menu if you jumped to the planner without selecting a cruise first. Even when they do get it working it is ugly (plain) as can be!
  13. In my fantasy, RC decides Mexico is too dangerous and my "Roatan, Belize, Cozumel" trip suddenly becomes "Roatan, Belize, Caymans".........Hey, i can dream.....
  14. Such a terrible design! How could anyone think this is an upgrade? Sure, you can go to the "Already booked" option......but WHY?? Clearly you should be able to click on a cruise on your list and from there get all the options there are for that cruise (ie. the planner). This seems to be a total disconnect!
  15. I loved my first cruise (on Liberty),but if there was one single change I could make it would be these machines!! I would have been so unbelievably happy if they had A) Self Serve and B) PowerAde Zero Fruit Punch! I have stage 3 Kidney disease and drink constantly (when not on cruise). It would be so much easier if I could just stop some place a refill without trying to flag down a bartender. And PowerAde Zero? Yes Please!!!
  16. Pretty much sucks! Got my cruises loaded as well as my anchor number (the fact that I had to reload everything in the first place is ridiculous!). But no way to look at the individual cruise details (cruise planner etc.)...If you try to access planner through the main menu it craps out saying it couldn't find the website. Really big FAIL from the IT department. I get that it may still be under "development" but any software type worth anything knows you don't take down the old site until the new one is completely ready.
  17. This is hilarious! So for $75 I get to meet some no-name entertainers, who while possibly talented are NOT celebrities, and I get a cocktail. Can't i but a cocktail for $12 at Schooners and bring it in with me? Hell, I wouldn't pay $75 to meet Abba (and yes, I am a fan!)
  18. I assume that beach area right by the ships is a private beach for the El Cid?
  19. For weeks, if you select the April 28, 2019 Liberty sailing it shows exactly one balcony left (on deck 6). Costco shows balcony availability on all decks. I believe Costco because when I made my reservation thru the RC call center, I got deck 8 with no problem despite what the RC website reported.
  20. I actually took advantage of a sale in late October and was surprised when the Black Friday sales came out and were NOT as good! Having said that I am expecting to lock most of my excursions and drink packages down on Black Friday this year for my April 19 sailing.
  21. It's really a matter of Geography. Sure for the East Coasters, Florida is easier but for folks like me in Colorado, Galveston is a no brainer (for now). It is easy to get to and cheap! If you are a seasoned cruiser than Galveston probably isn't for you, but for newbies it is a great way to get hooked. I did my first cruise on Liberty in January (Coz, Cay, Jam) and enjoyed it and Galveston so much we have already signed up for Lady Liberty again to do her alternate cruise (Roatan, Belize, Coz). We loved Galveston (even though i am notoriously anti-Texas), I actually liked that their beaches were "simpler" and lacked the glitz of Miami (and this was in January!!).
  22. 100% correct sir! Usability tests and Beta tests are but two types of testing and are NOT the same thing. A true Usability test requires a controlled environment and heavy monitoring whereas a Beta test is the exact opposite...Do whatever you want, including things you suspect are not right.
  23. Caution: I suspect the brochure is a listing of the POSSIBLE excursions for a given location, while what you are seeing on-line is a list of all the excursions that are AVALABLE given the dates of your sailings. The brochure wont take into account what season you are traveling or what is sold out.
