Great blog, thanks! I am due to travel on the VotS on 20/03 - your blog is really helpful. May I ask....... On your last disembarking day, what did you have to leave? I assume the latest time is around midday if this is the earliest time new guests may arrive on embarking? Can you recommend any excursions or points to note which you may not already mentioned? Also, in terms of ports, how far away from the centre of each destination are these? I am trying to work out how much currency to bring for taxi and fares etc, as I've already pre-paid for most of my actual excursions by card. I dont want to have too much cash. Thanks

I am travelling on the RCL Vision of the Seas and have a stop in Muscat between 22-23 March 2017. I really want to do an overnight stay to Wahiba Sands OR a day trip there on the 22/03. It looks breathtaking. The costs for a private tour are extortionate - £250 each - and that is for the day trip, without any desert camp overnight. The costs reduce significantly if more than 2 people do it (i.e the 4x4 vehicle can be shared with upto 6 people and thereby reduces the costs to as little as £90 each). I realise this is a long shot but I thought it worth asking if anybody on here had thought about doing the same trip on the same dates, who would be willing to share the excursion travel and reduce the costs? If not, does anybody know of any good local guides who may be able to offer a cheaper price or alternative? I have lots planned for our other ports and an additional 3 days in Dubai at the end so I am trying to budget. Thanks
