I really want to see how this all pans out. We're talking lots of $$$. Following.
Me too. I am expecting 3 cancellation emails shortly...

According to a post from another group, the glitch has been fixed...

Coastal Kitchen shows up in the cruise planner but it is often not "bookable" online. That is common. I have several suite bookings in GS or higher and it shows but does not allow me to go through with the booking process. Don't worry, just wait for the concierge email about 1 week prior to sailing and they will make reservations for you. You can also wait until you get on board and reserve with CK directly.

I just noticed for my sailing it's usually 75.81 CAD a day and it was just posted for 23.94 a day (so we booked it). Will RC honour this if it was some sort of error on their end? Has anyone ever encountered something like this before?
Not sure what happens, I'm guessing like cabin price errors, they will honour it. As long as you actually booked and paid for it, not just put it in your cart.

There's likely only one thing scarier to an uber planner like @Lovetocruise2002 than CK being closed. Three simple words:
You Forgot Something.
Have a great trip!!!
That did happen once....it was PJs

Contemplating pulling a @CGTLH and photoshopping a "Closed for repairs" sign on Coastal Kitchen door just for the reaction from @Lovetocruise2002

This is all great info, thank you! I probably should have added that I live 20 minutes away from Port Everglades, so I do not have the issue of suitcases on planes too, LOL!
This is impressive - we are a family of four too and I can't imagine making this work, especially with a teenage girl, LOL...kudos to you!
The trick is the packing cubes. Each kid gets a set amount of packing cubes. It is whatever you can fit into it or it doesn't come.

Is that because it's an international fare? Or are you high rolling it in first class?
9 minutes ago, mom2mybugs said:She flies out of my old home town of Detroit! Definitely not international! I think she saves the high rolling for the suites usual... Right @Lovetocruise2002?
Correct! We fly economy every time! And yes, like Jane said, out of DTW.

Did you get charged an oversize baggage fee for that? I've found most suitcases go over the max 61 linear inches when they're that huge 29" length, and that a 25" is the largest that stays within the limits. I remember you mostly fly American-based airlines out of DTW, so I'm curious if you just dealt with oversize fees or you have a unique bag that doesn't go over those limits.
We fly Delta so so far, no. No additional charge.

Quick question. I booked a GS on Oasis for March 2020. I was able to price check for a couple of months (and saved several hundred dollars) but now that category no longer shows up. I wonder if that is because they are all booked or if the website "recognizes" that I have booked this and no longer shows it. I do have an MEI travel agent, so I am confident that she is also checking. I just like to be sure.

On today's agenda is nothing but packing. We leave for New York tomorrow and Hubby has not packed a single thing yet. Nothing surprising there.
The girls and I have packed our clothes but today is the trickier part...toiletries and miscellaneous travel items. Those of you shaking your heads while reading this...the art of packing toiletries for a product junkie like myself and two tween girls (one almost teen) is quite the mental challenge.

Even though it's July, this is how you will likely spot a Lulubot on a cruise:
I can confirm that entire outfit is staying at home this time around. Thank goodness!

My question is more, if you can do UDP and the Key, why do the GS?
Gotcha. I misunderstood. I would rather take the full suite and give up the UDP and the Key. A GS gives you full access to the suite lounge (free drinks) and CK (assuming that it is O or Q class) as well as the suite concierge. If you are on O and Q class ships, you also get the suite sundeck which the Key does not give you access to.

To which she replied "I don't really know, I just get on the plane and go on vacation."
Well she is in for one heck of a surprise then on this sailing!

With a grand suite, we down graded from the UDP to a 3 Specialty Dining package because of the Coastal Kitchen. And we did not go to the WJ at all.
With Sky class, we canceled our UDP completely.

T-3 Days
We just had dinner. Plain fish and broccoli and I told myself with every bite that in a few days, I will be enjoying CK meals (at least I hope).
Some things never change...Hubby asked us over dinner, "Where does this ship go this time?"
I am not sure if he even knows what ship we are sailing. I tried to direct him over to this live blog for answers, but he does not know where to find the blog.

Like @twangster said, if you can book it, do it. Way better than MDR.

Well a couple weeks back I had booked KC online thinking it was the MDR . I had to call and change it back after learning our travel agent had already set us up for MDR. I kept wondering why the guy on the phone kept asking "are your sure you wanna switch ?" Ill have to speak with my travel agent I guess . We are in a center room(accessible) on the 10th deck , nothing special. This is our 1st cruise.
Hmm...interesting. Then you should take full advantage of it. What ship and room category if you don't mind me asking?

No. You must be in a Junior Suite to get dinner access (upon availability). Grand Suite or higher has full access. If it is showing on your cruise planner, it might just be wonky IT. If you go and try to book it, it will likely not go through.
