  1. I found the first day to be particularly hectic (compared to non-Star class) but after that, I did not notice too many interruptions other than room service delivery.
  2. That's what makes this such a great community!
  3. That is until they get to know you better. And warning...they pick on Canadians ?? Kidding of course lol...But you do have to watch out for this guy called @mworkman ?
  4. That's how I felt until I tried a Lemon Drop Martini. That is my "go-to" drink now.
  5. If that was the case, that kid probably spent half his life on a cruise! He was not very old at all lol.
  6. My choices...Bellini, Lemon Drop Martini, Vodka tonic, and Cosmos. Also, thanks to @Michael Vitale and his lovely wife, I also learned that they can make chocolate martinis in the suite/D lounge. It’s too sweet for me, but that’s another idea.
  7. I cannot answer your question directly but I can tell you that on our Symphony cruise, last month, there was a “younger pinnacle couple” there with their son. The boy could not have been more than 10. When we were at the Top Tier party, they had reserved seats for all the Pinnacle members on the sailing, including the young boy. The seats were marked with each of their names. He also had a gold pin like his parents. They were recognized for being the cruisers with the 3rd highest C&A points on our sailing. Over 1000. All 3 of them went up to receive the honour and Captain Rob gave the gift to the boy. Interpret what you want from that. ? My kids will be stuck at D+ for a while so I won’t be able to tell you first hand lol.
  8. Anthem does not handle crowds well at all compared to Oasis class ships. Not just with the pools, but everywhere.
  9. Dates range from 1-2 weeks prior to sailing to 6 weeks prior for some people. It really varies.
  10. The official answer is "no", however, there have been a few situations where I have heard of specific genies doing so. You don't really need to worry about seating on the suite sun deck. There is always ample seating there and lots of empty loungers and chairs, even on a sea day. The only things that fill up fast are the cabanas on the suite sun deck but Symphony doesn't even have those.
  11. Personally, I would not wait for Black Friday. There is no guarantee what the price will be at that time. I personally would purchase it as soon as I am able to and then just re-price it at Black Friday if it is lower.
  12. Yes, it's always tricky to work around the timing since the WJ closes at 9pm on most ships. In desperate situations, when rushing to a show, Hubby has even left while waiting for dessert during the main dinner to go grab something in the WJ.
  13. @twangster, I can't remember, is this your first time on Majesty?
  14. @CGTLH started the phrase "WJ recon". Hubby's strategy is...WJ recon before dinner, eat main dinner accordingly, go back to WJ afterwards. ?
  15. I was on the same sailing as @cobra614 and same, the lowest it fell to was $47pp/day. My advice is buy it as soon as you can and watch prices. If it drops, you can re-price up to 2 days before sailing. If you don't buy it now, you run the risk of the price going up even higher. In the past, Black Friday usually nets the biggest savings.
  16. Boo! Are you trying to rub it in and make us all super jealous? Cause if you are, it's working! ?
  17. @Rob&Ana you’re Canadian?! Awesome! We need more Canadians around here ???
  18. Between you and @PRC, I am so jealous! I want to cruise, get off for a week, and cruise again over and over. Have fun ?
  19. Let us make note again here that this blog was started 11 days pre-cruise. Brilliance live blog was 6 weeks. We will come back to this for future reference. ??
  20. I'm pretty sure that OP doesn't need one lol.
  21. @joshvc Thanks for sharing your trip. We'll be sailing Harmony out of PC next year (never sailed Royal out of PC before) and the info about Go Port Canaveral is a good tip for me to keep in mind. You guys will like Indy after her refurb. My kids had a great time on her last year. You should. Other than Venice, Miami is my second favourite port to sail out of. It is not only scenic and provide a perfect back drop for sail away but with the new Terminal A, check in and boarding is such a breeze!
  22. I hear ya. I have had similar dealings with them from time to time. The worst is when you are only hold forever and then they transfer you and hang up on you. That is maddening!
  23. Like others have mentioned, the airfare is going to be brutal. For us last year, it was more than double what we normally pay. It was almost the cost of the cruise itself. The cruise fare is also much higher than usual. On top of that, your typical things that go on sale (drink package, dining package, internet) in the cruise planner, don't really go on sale or drop much in price. That being said, if you can make it happen, go, it's a great time! We had so much fun on our New Years sailing last year on Indy. Like @Matt said, there are special events and dining menus that are offered and, in the case of New Year's, they gave special party favours etc.
