  1. Hi

I've read about the ships not changing times when they move time zones and to be careful for sail away as they'll be on ship time not local time. For the Bahamas is there any difference in the time? I assume not as they're currently on the same time as Orlando but wanted to double check in case there's any clock changes due. We sail 2nd Oct?

    Thanks.

I hate to be a party poop, but the new menus I have seen have LESS options than the old ones and the options are more traditional and less innovative.  I've seen this same comment on other boards.  RCCL is appealing to the masses that want shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad and steak.   I guess I'm in the minority, because that is not what I want.

Thanks @cruise-ythat's not good the unique things were what I was looking forward to most!

The wreck and plane are fake items that have been put into the bay for snorkeling.  I find the main bay at coccay to be an excellent place to snorkel.  You can rent gear there as opposed to taking your own.

Thanks. Will make sure and do some. Do you happen to know how much the gear is to rent?

    Thanks @KLAconQueso

@KLAconQuesohatewhen they do that... I get its from a safety point of view but ugh I hate wearing them! Oh yes the famous Rexy... Im on Nick's page on Facebook she's such a cutie! Hoping we can do the walk looks nice but not nice enough to pay the excursion cost!

  4. Considering taking some cheap snorkel gear to Coco Cay, is it worth it? I read there was a wreck and a sunken plane? Are they easy to find?

Also I saw someone post pics of a big lizard that looked like it was by a small inlet or pond... Is that part of the nature trail? I know there's the guided walk as an excursion but can you walk all over the island on your own?

    Thanks ?

  5. Hi all

Was seeing on another cruise site about the Nassau port day timing changes and lo and behold I got my confirmation today. Instead of 7am to 12 midnight the timing will now be 8am til 9pm. No explanation. We had planned to do a month RC excursion leaving the docks at 815. Looks like we'll have to do something else instead!

Looks like this is a standard change to timings based on the variety of people who have said they're impacted!

Nothing in particular.   There is a store (actually several) that sell all kinds of hot sauce.  Take a chance and just grab a couple.  In St Thomas, the shopping on the pier there is a liquor store that sells Bones rum.  I usually get 4 to 6 bottles when I'm there.  Bones also have a store on the main drag along the water, there they have slurpee machines where you pick what flavor you want then they set the bottle of run on the bar and say help yourself.  Yup, been there a couple times.

Thanks. We love hot sauces so will make sure and get some. Thanks for the tips... If we make it to St Thomas I'll be sure and grab some in your honour ?

If you are only going to the Bahamas I can't help on the rum.  St Thomas and St Maarten are where I like to buy my rum. About the only thing we buy in Nassau is hot sauce and my wife like Caroloha so she goes there and spends too much for sock.  I did notice last month that they moved a Fat Tuesday down to the main street (Woodes Rodgers Walk).  You can see it from the boat if you don't have another blocking your view.  I like to go there and get 100proof slurpees.

Thanks arebee. Oooh any particular kind of hot sauce? Love Fat Tuesday... Will grab a drink there for sure. Never been to St Thomas or St Maarten... But if they do good rum they're on the "to visit" list :1_grinning:

I used to think I hated rum, then I found Watling's in Nassau.  They make a great pina colada, we picked up two bottles of the amber and a bottle of the Buena Vista aged rum.  The Buena Vista goes great with a cigar.

They're on the list! Thanks :11_blush:

  8. Ok so mainly rum... Lol.

Not really looking to buy jewellery except maybe a Bahamas Alex and Ani bracelet. What souvenirs would you recommend, if any? And more importantly what is your favourite rum from the islands? I know that's subjective... We like darker rums... Havana Club, Brugal, Santero and golden rums as well.

Also where would you recommend to buy rum? Many thanks.

I believe local laws in the UK do not allow for the same kind of pricing changes we have in USA.

If I were you, I'd ask your travel agent about if its possible.

Thanks Matt, will drop her a line.

Chances are that you would have to cancel current booking loosing your deposit and then re-book.

That's what I was thinking... And it's not that a big saving!
