JLMoran got a reaction from mattymay in Upcoming Celebrity Cruises
@mattymay, I had asked my TA this same question about Celebrity in general a while back. She said that the line as a whole isn't really set up with activities or other things meant to appeal to teenagers. If your kids have more eclectic tastes, especially if they're foodies, they can still find ways to enjoy the trip, but they won't have things like a rock wall or other "high energy" activities.
On a separate tack, when I was first looking at different cruise lines I had asked my friends on Facebook if they'd sailed Celebrity and seen kids / teens there. Responses were very few, but uniformly said they never saw more than a few. So finding people to hang out with might be another issue, although I'll throw in the caveats that I don't know when those people took their cruises (may have been during school time) and that I'd hardly consider my sample response size representative.

Ditto! Ate them every morning when I'd have breakfast in the MDR on Freedom. Not an option at Cafe Two70 on Anthem or I'd have taken them there as well.

Hey, if we're going with that vibe, then there has to be a stuffed ostrich you sit on while strapped to the bungee cords! ?

Joe, Celebrity has been doing this since last summer, I figured it was only a matter of time for RC to do it too.  Jury is still out for me, but we shall see!

Exactly ...... I don't know if anyone would remember the video game, JOUST --- it was out in the '80's.  That was the image I had.

THANK YOU!!!  After thinking longer....you nailed our thoughts exactly!!!  Especially seeing the first booking of this cruise started out in a JS and within a week we were into the deck 8 ATS ? AND, as a family we have recently lost 175 lbs total and don't mind the walking....at...all!!!!  ?   We are cruise ready!!

IIRC, all of these options -- loungers, beach bed, bungalow, and cabana -- are based on one person buying them and then indicating who else in his/her party will be using it. So if you need a total of four then you only need two people to buy them, total cost $90.
That said, I still think that with a party of four or more, going the bungalow or cabana route is much better in spite of the higher cost. You have guaranteed shade, the cabanas actually have a ceiling fan installed to keep you cool on a hot day, and the attendant taking care of you just makes it a nicely indulgent beach day. Now, if you think you'll spend 90% of your time away from the place and hanging out in the water or doing other things, then the loungers may be more than enough.

The price shown (in this case, $199) does NOT include the grat.  My guess is that they are counting all of the potential meals that would be included in the UDP,  meaning all lunches on sea days...but even then the math isn't right.  It should come out to an even number (199/24).  No clue what's going on here !  Looks like the price per meal has gone up and the advertisement hasn't been updated.

Since this is your first Star Class experience, I recommend you stick with the ATS on Deck 8.  It's an experience everyone should have at least once.  The 2-level suites are very nice but there's something very special about the A1 suites.  If you were on deck 9 or 10 I would say maybe...those rooms are significantly smaller than the ones on 8 but you have the biggest one of all.
Since they are all Star Class, you wouldn't gain anything by upgrading except being on deck 17 (which definitely has it's advantages !) and the novelty of having 2 levels.  Personally, I don't see ANY reason to spend more money at this point.  The only downside to being in the ATS is the walking distance.  It is a LONG way back there but it's worth the walk for the experience.  Be sure and get breakfast delivered to your suite and eat out on the balcony.  It's incredible out there !
Once you've done the ATS once you can consider the loft suites.  They are extremely convenient but I think you will regret not doing the ATS if you give it up now.

I'd say, take this idea and go vertical .....
Use a Vision/Radiance Class ship --- Strap the participants up in a Harness in the Centrum ....
And let them go vertical in the fencing -- up & down --- side to side......

I had been on Celebrity cruise 4 times but not Solstice class and it is more for the people want to relax and have a good quality food. Not much of activities other than trivia, dances and games. It also depend on itinerary if you don't have a seaday and stop at the port everyday then I think should be OK for teenage because you and your kids possible out to the ports of call everyday.

Fourth vote for using the port parking. Used it in October, super convenient and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Plus, it's got full security / cameras / etc. so you've got peace of mind your car won't have been vandalized while you were away.

Just received our offer today for Jan 13, 2019 Oasis cruise.  We currently are in the deck 8 ATS.  The bids start at $400pp for Star Loft, $700pp for Panoramic, and $1200pp for the Royal Loft.  While the Royal Loft is VERY tempting, I'm sure the $1200pp ($2400 total) bid will not take it, as it can go up to $4700pp.  My husband says "lets stick to the ATS for our 1st cruise", I say "YOLO, BOOK IT".  (we are not asking the daughters at ages 14 & 24 for their opinion lol) Bank account says "?"

Same. Still there on my Anthem cruise next October.
The weird thing for me is that I see all the individual restaurants, but not one package offer. No UDP, no BOGO, no 3/4/5-night packages.

Got the offer for an upgrade on our cruise on Anthem leaving NJ on 30Mar19, it is a 7 day Bahamas going to Cape Canaveral, Nassau, and CocoCay.  We currently have a Jr Suite and have been offered to bid for an upgrade for the following prices....

Royal Loft $2300pp Upper Loft $1500pp Sky Loft $700 Owners Suite $500pp Grand Suite $350pp I may bid on a Grand Suite but I am a little afraid, if I win it I know that I will be spoiled for life and a simple balcony room or Jr Suite just won't cut it anymore!!?
