mworkman got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Refund
We had our first refund hit our card on Saturday, surprisingly we have full payment due 12/31/20 and the next on 01/14/21 for out TA, which is also a b2b in Europe in April.  We will request full refund on these once there canceled, as they were non refundable bookings.

That's why i asked what the largest class ship that could sail from Tampa, as i see very few options at this stage.  In order to remain at Tampa you have to hold onto 1 Radiance class ship or below or build a new ship with modern updates, that will accommodate passage under the bridge, which i don't see that happening, or turn over that port to one of the sister company's, as they also have ships in that class that fit the bill.

Face mask are such a joke anyway.  They are to appease the masses and not to do anything about the virus,  The size of covid 19 is about 125 nm (0.125 microns).  The typical N95 mask bocks 95%+ of Airborne Particles 0.3 Microns or Larger .  That's 2.4 times the size of the covid virus, and that's an N95.  My guess is the cheap disposable blue masks  are not as good, and cloth masks are even worse that those.  Don't believe me do a 5 min google search and find the truth your self.

Nothing at all has changed - governments want to look like they are doing something and it is being used as a political game at this point by many.
If anything - the moment masks were mandated in shops where I live, proper social distancing went in the bin.

Makes you wonder if it wasn’t effective previously, why is it now? What’s changed to make it safe...nothing!

We aren’t. I did, because I find it interesting in that is stated based on research it traced the origin of the virus in the United States to a Medical Seminar in Boston where it was spread from there and not the cruise industry.

mworkman got a reaction from Baked Alaska in Paying my remaining cruise fare balance 90 days before a cruise that I know I won't be on
I’m in the same mindset as @twangster and will converter all canceled cruises by RCL back into a full refund until things go back to normalcy.  We have no desire to wear a mask or stay on a directed tour, as it’s not a true vacation for us. So we will pay our current cruises full balance at the 90 day mark and when canceled, request a refund.  We have not made any new booking since this virus came into play and don’t plan on making any until normalcy returns.  We’re now in the process of waiting on one full refund and will be looking at another request for a refund shortly. Good luck in your decision as what’s best for you.

mworkman got a reaction from RWDW1204 in Cruises from Tampa will be cancelled until 2nd quarter 2021
It appears this is false information or the Port Authority wants to keep it close hold and not tell anyone in the office. This answer was posted on another site when asked about closure for next year.
Good morning (Name Removed, not mine).  In March 2020 the CDC issued a No Sail Order that was applicable to all cruise ports in the US including Tampa.  The No Sail Order was lifted effective November 2020 with conditions set on returning to sail.  To be clear, Port Tampa Bay (aka port of Tampa) is not closed to cruising, rather cruise lines are establishing (or have established) protocols to return to sailing and when the protocols are met the cruise lines will begin sailing again and Port Tampa Bay will be ready to receive the ships.  I hope this clarifies for you.     Best regards,   Greg Lovelace Senior Director of Business Development Port Tampa Bay
