Can you imagine trying to sell a cruise ship right now ?  LOL  Talk about selling in an off market !!!  It's probably more about getting out from under insurance, crew and operating costs than actually bringing in any cash.  I noticed that in the Carnival article they mentioned "scrapping" which is harsh, but probably a reality.

Yep, RCL stock is down $4 a share in after-hours trading on this news...ugh! ?

The other things that bothers me in this NRD conversation is why should that be a factor when Royal is cancelling the cruise?
They cancelled the cruise.  I didn't. 
I still want to sail Allure even if it isn't AMPED on that date.  I'd even fly to Florida to do it.  Change home ports, just let me sail.  Nope. Royal won't let me.
So given this is all on Royal, why should I have to book refundable?  
It seems the motivation and reasoning to book refundable is to protect yourself when Royal is being completely unreasonable when they decide to move me to another ship and downgrade me to a vastly inferior cabin compared to what I booked.  Hmmm.
I respectfully disagree that the "solution" to this issue would have been booking refundable.  A reasonable company wouldn't have put me in the place they did in this scenario.  
A guest should be able to book a non-refundable fare and maintain an expectation of being treated fairly when the company chooses to make a drastic and unprecedented change to the booking.
Allure is going somewhere on my date.  They aren't scuttling the ship.  Someone will sail in my cabin on that date.  Why can't it be me?  

I did price a few with them but I’m not using one that does not save me anything ??‍♂️ We can now book online directly on any of the websites Aus, US and UK ?? 

With all the speculation going on and the roller coaster RCL and other cruise stocks have been on, I sold what I purchased originally and made enough for a few cruises. I am considering looking for another dip like yesterday, but the price is rebounding again...so I expect to get back in at some point.
 
I don't recommend doing this, btw unless you are willing to take the risk...and you have a stomach of iron, or check the price only occasionally.

This should not happen. For 1 person to get their booking transferred with price protection and everyone else has to cancel, wait 90 days and start all over again at significantly higher prices is just wrong on so many levels.  Not only is the whole situation noxious, the level of service and CS incompetence is staggering.  This is going to result a LOT of turmoil and festering feelings.

I am also inexperienced in the stock market.  But I always believed the industry would return and recover and I really believed in RC as a company.  My only regret is not buying the amount RC shares that I originally planned.  When I first considered buying  I only was going to buy RC as they are our brand of choice.   But I decided ended up buying and Carnival and Norwegian which kinda takes the sting away from not investing as much in RC as originally planned.  
I also realize anything can still happen  but I believe the industry getting nearer to sailing again than maybe most do.  Might have something to do with our Aug. 3rd sailing on Independence! Lol

I am very curious how this casino ordeal will play out. Just picture a hot roulette table on an Oasis class ship right around 9:00pm and you can see that social distance is going to be tough. Personally I am not going to pull my mask off every time I want to take a sip of my drink. Make no mistake about it though, RC will figure this out as a TOP priority. Without the casino revenue they will be screwed. Too much money pours into that casino for them not to be thinking about resolution moving forward. 

It appears that ALL of the guidelines the big names in Vegas published are just words.  Ive seen many videos including this one and have had friends visit vegas already and there is little to no policing of the policies.  Let us sail again!

This is how casinos looked on day one, but cruise ships are under the kind of government scrutiny that made the McCarthy hearings seem trivial.

I am neither a very good stock market follower nor a long-time "cruiser", but having read this blog in preparation for the Alaska trip that didn't happen (it will next spring), I decided to put some cash into what I determined to be a solid market.  Y'all seemed to show me that there are a real loyal, dedicated group of folks who do cruise..  Having mentioned it to my banker son and my other son who spends his time following Army camps, they didn't heed my recommendation very well.  As of today, I look like a genius (my banker son even said he didn't know I was that savvy).  I just wanted to say thanks for the confidence and the advice.  Even if for some reason the whole ship thing sinks, I will still be able to say I've  made a lot of money at RCL!  Oh, and I'll pay the tax on money that I didn't have before. ?  - Meanwhile, I get some onboard credit!

I purchased RC @$35, Norwegian @ $11 and Carnival @ $12.50 a few weeks ago.   Happy days so far.  

I purchased two bungalows for our group some time ago for $183.  Just repriced at $157 this week.  First time to try but at these prices it seems well worth it especially when breaking it down for a group of 16.

I booked an August 22nd, 2020 Symphony sailing  because I could get "Cruise with Confidence" if I decided to cancel.
But wow!!!  How cheap!!! ( $88.20 non-stop round trip Knoxville to Miami!!!  And, American would offer a future credit if I cancelled.)
So, if anyone wants to try a cruise in August, then they might be in for a pleasant surprise when booking air.

Aug 3 independence.  I honestly believe it will sail.

2. 14 day quarantine upon return

I don't foresee masks as a requirement. They would be unenforceable, and science tells us, largely ineffective.
