Too much money involved and not going to happen. It makes for prime people watching so I personally encourage the excessive drinking! Isn’t it vacation anyway and people are entitled to do what makes them happy. I think you need to just sit in your stateroom and order room service for 7 days because the sun, fun and excessive drinking are not going away. On that note, I am very much looking forward to multiple pina coladas by the pool on Icon all day every day for vacation! If luck serves me right, I will still be drinking free Red Stripes in the casino all night while I piss away my good fortunes and kids financial future but it’s vacation! 

Seems the title was classic click bait so people would read the post. Strange axe to grind but everyone is entitled to their opinions. Other fun tags to get your post viewed next time "Royal Caribbean going out of Business" or "Coco Cay suffers the fate of Atlantis and sinks beneath the waves."

I would say Icon very much caters to families. My kids are going to go absolutely nuts over the slides and pools and will never want to get off the ship. 

Loading the drinks on the sea pass cards was one of the better post Covid changes RC has made only bested by the new lifejacket safety briefing protocol. 

On Oasis, my daughter was able to use her Diamond drinks on Ben and Jerry milkshakes.  Even purchased free shakes for a friend.  

I am close to diamond but I always get a DBP.  I am probably good for 10 drinks a day between time at the pool, dinner and then shows and various bars the remainder of the night.  The DBP always makes sense for me.  Diamond is going to make that math harder, lol.  It will benefit my wife because she doesn't drink as much as me.  I kind of wish instead of the 4 drinks a day benefit that they just would give a significant discount on the DBP, or offer a choice between the two.  Make it like legit half price or something.

I don't think so. However, once my wife and I had one drink left, so I swung by the trellis bar and asked for two unopened beers. Put them in the cooler in our room and we drank them on the balcony a few days later.

I had a doctor prescribe meds for a brief anxiety I developed about flying.  The pill itself didn't do too much.  But once I had a drink with it the anxiousness completely disappeared.  I would absolutely recommend going that route rather than miss out on something I really wanted to experience.  Just my two cents.  

I'm thinking your kids should each get a free day of internet as well.  They share your C&A loyalty status.  So you might be covered for more than 4 days.

Yes.  I cashed out refundable OBC at guest services. 

We booked directly through RC so no assistance from a TA to make this happen. 
I was unaware that this even happened until the last family that booked informed me that they got a room close to us.  I explained that we don't have a room assignment.  They said yes you do!

We most  often stay at the Hilton Hampton Inn at Blue Lagoon since they are so friendly and there is a free airport shuttle (plus it is only 10pp for the shuttle to the port). Their Brickell property is also very nice (although pricier and further from the port). But for our post Thanksgiving B2B this year we have lost our minds and have booked an oceanview room at the InterContinental Miami (since we will fly in this time 2 days prior and wanted something a bit nicer for the longer stay). 

The one with the link I supplied was multiple rooms.  When I was there, I had one room and another group of young people had the other 5 rooms.  I liked this place because it is separate than the owner's house.  It was just a bedroom, two shared bathrooms, a setting room and a kitchenette.  The only issue was it was on the second floor and you had to carry your luggage up the stairs.

We had a new experience recently.  A group of 5 families booked 6 staterooms for a July 29, 2023.  We are all linked.  5 staterooms already have assignments and all are very near each other

Not paid in full.  Just minimum deposit.  3 rooms are just separated from one room each. Starboard side.    Forth room directly across port side.  Fifth room is same room number just one floor down.  We are by the elevator/steps so just one flight of stairs away.  
I do think it must be related to the number of linked rooms and their attempt to keep linked room close.  Not sure that is the rationale behind it though.  But it was a shock to us.
