  1. Good idea, Kayla. Depending on how long you're in port, you can check out the shops within the "fence line" also. Will take no longer than an hour. Lots of bright shiny jewelry for sale!
  2. Do it on line. Here's the link: https://www.managerewardsonline.com/RMSapp/Ctl/display?pageid=home.
  3. JL, I developed some serious degenerative arthritis in my lower back which resulted in me quitting golf cold turkey in 2011. As a result I do not take any chances with anything physical that involves my lower back or may have a bad effect on my lower back. I have been to Labedee and seen this zip line. No way in hell would I even think about something like this! I think you are a very smart cookie to stay away from this thing. However, you can get an umbrella on the open ocean side of Labedee under the zip line, have a few cold ones and enjoy the show! I didn't know grown men and women could scream at the top of their lungs for the entire ride!!
  4. If you're on the Allure of the Seas, stay on board and enjoy the ship. Or, spend a little time in the port shopping area and then head back to the ship. We were there in Feb 2016 and that's what we elected to do. Of course we did not have little ones with us.
  5. I, too, don't think this will really expedite boarding. By getting rid of the photo stop/sea pass card production station, perhaps Royal is looking at another way to save money......which they will pass on to us the customers!
  6. Just checked my March/April B2B cruise planners, no sale there. Must be too far out. Which cruise are you seeing this sale on?
  7. You know, Kayla, repeat visitors to Nachi get a free commemorative tattoo!
  8. Based on the comments here, the Nachi website and trip advisor, we are booked for next March 30th! Will look for the beans also.
  9. In addition to myself, I'm sure there are a lot of grand parents on this board who would love to see their creation! If you can please please post a photo. Thanks!
  10. We did the 4x4 many years ago. The guide drives, follows a lead vehicle and they stop at interesting places for photo ops. It was an interesting excursion. Here's an excursion offered by an independent operator: https://www.randomwind.com/. Has excellent reviews here on this board as well as trip advisor.
  11. I think arebee should change his board name to "TheRumRunner"
  12. Since you're in Florida, your plan B could be a company dinner at a local Cuban Restaurant!
  13. Having been on both itineraries, I highly recommend the Eastern Caribbean (Bahamas, St. Thomas & St. Kitts). The port in Jamaica is Falmouth. Great shopping, Margaritaville, couple of nice places for food & drink. But, this is all within the fenced shopping area. Going outside of the fence is risky. The port in Haiti is Labadee, which is owned by Royal Caribbean. Nice beaches, the food and drink actually comes off of the cruise ship and is prepared in a huge barbecue area. Cozumel is great for shopping and Mexican food. We really enjoy the Eastern Caribbean. Cleaner islands & better beaches.
  14. Here's a link that might help you out for some excursions in Curacao: http://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/. They are competitive with the excursions that RCI offers and have a good reputation.
  15. Well, from what I have read it's all up to Raul Castro. Trump wants religious freedom & political freedom for the people of Cuba as well as the release of all political prisoners. If Raul doesn't agree, then all that Obama put in place goes away and that would be a shame for the people of Cuba.
  16. I totally concur with the negative comments about regarding Falmouth. We were there last year and there are plenty of upscale, midscale and downscale shops within the fenceline, ie, compound where you can find souvenirs. There is also a Margaritaville that has free wifi along with all the Margaritaville food and beverages. I ventured, by myself,up to the gate that goes into Falmouth proper and I didn't even attempt to leave the compound. What I saw was a bunch of very seedy looking street vendors with rag tag booths.
  17. OK, 2 bottles per stateroom. If the husband has two bottles and the wife has two bottles, and they go through security at the port and getting on board the ship separately, will they get caught? From what I remember the number of bottles of wine are not tallied against a cabin number by neither security scans.
  18. That's interesting, I can access the cruise planner with IE when Chrome starts to flake out on me.
  19. We did that excursion years ago and it was fun! What was interesting was to see all the stingrays swim into the area when the skiffs ties up to the floating dock. They knew it was feeding time. As Brian said above, they are very docile and agile swimmers. Go for it, you will have fun, and don't forget to buy a t-shirt so you tell tell your friends back home "been there, done that".
  20. Oh, this discussion has become so sweet........
  21. Thanks Matt. We're going to take a pass on this one this time. Perhaps a future cruise will stay in Nassau for a longer period of time. Nothing wrong about hanging out on the Allure!
