I considered over the water cabanas. From when I booked, to my cruise (6/19 with Harmony) , I got sick & am/might be wheelchair bound & this would have been the only “excursion” I felt comfortable going on. But OTW cabanas will not be ready yet, so booked the Chill Island  Cabana. Want to mention that I found an **“issue” on the number of guests allowed, and have worked with RC Resolution Team and also with RC Corporate for 2 months. Resolution was not found & the excursion highlights to completing payment are still contradicting. I am mentioning this, if anyone is considering making the full payment & have friends chip in. Specifically 1)the excursion “highlights” state “room for up to 8 of your favorite people” which I took as myself plus 8=nine total. 2) the excursion “important notes” state “maximum eight guests per cabana” . 3) when you pay/complete this excursion it states “choose SIX people” . 3)RC Resolution team member Eva got back to me and stated it is “six adults and two children” will be authorized to use /be with me. We are traveling with 20 and it was difficult to pick& choose the 6/7 or 8 “ favorites”. Dissapointed that RC only offered a$25 credit for me finding the error. Hopefully other friends can stop in, but not stay. This is my first post, let me know if I should post my finding somewhere for others?

I booked a hotel for part of our honeymoon, but when we got there the nice lady at the desk told me no current booking for us.  Turns out I booked it for two months earlier ?.  There's money gone.  I was so mad that we left and booked a room at a different hotel.  More money gone, lol.  And my original was a wine free booking!  Looking back I wish I would've been drinking some wine so I could pass the blame.

That would be correct...although in my defense I have never cruised without it and this only happened once......so far
 
Damn solo cabins on Brilliance......those doors close quickly behind you when you step out to look down the hall..lol
 
Only good thing was that those rooms are about  pretty close to Guest services(deck 4)..but nothing like walking through the centrum in your boxer briefs at 2am......

There could be one slight problem if you are not a Prime member.  For anyone that is not at least a Prime level member of Club Royale, they would charge you a 5% "convenience fee" to take cash against your sea pass card.  So if you  had to pay that fee it would  not be reasonable.  This "scheme" only works if you are already a Prime or higher CR member.  I should have mentioned that but I know that Stephanie does qualify for waiving that fee.

I don't gamble...but I totally just took a screenshot of this reply...never know when it'll come in handy.  Thanks!
P.S.  I mean all that in a good way, it's good advice.

I redeemed points from Royal Caribbean Credit Card about three months before our Radiance cruise in May.  I called RCCL and asked if they received the OBC and she checked and yes they did and it would show up on the cruise planner about two weeks before sail date.  It did show up at the top of the home page for Cruise Planner and could have been used.
There are two types of OBC, refundable and non-refundable.
The RCCL credit card OBC is refundable. Our kids surprised us with  a $100 OBC to buy us dinner,  they are all put on your on board account, at the end of the cruise any unused OBC that is refundable is put back on the credit card you have on your  account.
The OBC that you get from RCCL (when you book your cruise) is non- refundable so if you do not use that up you lose it.  I know that would be impossible but I thought I would share it.

For me it is a legitimate fear.  I once tried to check into a hotel, only to discover that i had booked the room for the following week.  Luckily, they had plenty of availability.

Don't feel bad.  I did the same thing not long ago.  It happens !  Unfortunately (for poor Michelle !) the TA took the brunt of the pain for my mistake.  Not only did I have HER book the wrong cruise, I had HER call back, cancel the wrong one and rebook the right one.  I know she secretly hates my guts but she never, ever shows it !

I actually just called and cancelled.  It was very easy and took less than 5 minutes!  That will teach me to book after a glass of wine!

On second thought, I'd call the travel agent and let them know what happened and then transfer the wrong booking to them and let them deal with cancel and booking again. That frees you up to spend more time on these boards!

Years ago we changed door handles and locks on the house.  Most handles unlock when you open the door but this one would open and leave the lock in place.  Walked out in the backyard one early morning in my underwear to let the dog out.  Shut the door and bam, no phone or anything.  Nobody else was home.  Had to walk to the neighbors and call my wife to let me back in the house.  Changed the lock that afternoon!  ????

If you think that's bad...imagine leaving the sea pass card in your room and getting locked out and trekking down to guest services in your underwear at 2am.....
 
Only time  I 'lost" a seapass card.....
 
I'd take losing a seapass card fully clothed anytime over that again.....

I never thought to look up what to do if I lost the SeaPass card in a port. Hope it is useful to others.
My aunt lost hers in Atlantis, and didn’t realize until we were on tour bus back to port. She freaked out and started crying(first cruise for her was very nervous) I headed straight to where they check ID and card, to ask what to do, they said to go to port security which was right outside.
Went and they checked her passport with ship manifest and let us through a side gate back to the ship. Once at gangway ship security supervisor came down to verify and let us through. Once we went through scanner we headed for guest services for a new card.

A German site last year made claim it would be Melody. So far this has been the only use of Melody. Doing a quick search "Melody of the Seas" isn't even trademarked.
Looking back on Symphony, "Symphony of the Seas" wasn't trademarked until a shipyard photo was released. That photo had a partial spelling of Symphony.

Carnival Sunrise, Celebrity Apex, Norwegian Joy..  I actually like Melody of the Seas and Icon of the Seas.

That video is stunning and scary.  I know that particular ship isn't a behemoth, 
but still, she's huge when you're on the dock and she's coming right at you.
 
If I were the king of MSC, I'd fork out some ducets and hire away a couple of RC Captains.

If you search for cruise ship crashes it becomes apparent that it happens fairly often. Mostly with piers or docks and sometimes with other boats and rocks.
Navigating and piloting open and near shore waters  are governed by volumes of national and international marine rules and laws. Many times it simply boils down to "don't run into anything."

My wife told me we were in dry dock after next summer until my oldest graduates from high school and I retire from the Air Force in 2023, but I may show her those pics and convince her that Alaska should be our 20th anniversary vacation in 2021. 

I'm sure any week now we will get some information on odyssey of the Seas. I wonder how it will differ to Spectrum and the other 3 Quantum class ships? my big question as it seems to be going to Miami area, will they still have the seaplex? for me I think they should change it up and make it like a Navigator sports deck with slides and such like. Along with the new BBQ Concept and increase the main pool so its again like Navigator.
 
No skypad aswell for me.
 
Just my thoughts, I would be interested to see what others think, I know plans have already been finalised but I am growing very curious!

Once forgot our son Kevin while leaving on a family vacation.  Was quite easy since it was a large group and we were running late for our flight because the power went out during the night...international flights don't wait around so we had to run through the terminal. 
 
I've been looking at lists and tweaking them for things that will fit me and my trip.  Thanks to this blog the odds of me forgetting something important have decreased.  But when I do inevitably forget something...I'll be here in September to share my experience. ?
 

One trip with took with our kids, I had grabbed what I thought was my stack of passports and birth certificates. This was when you just needed a BC to sail, started handing the paperwork to the clerk checking us in and what I thought was my daughters birth certificate was a copy of mine!!! We had nothing for her to board the ship. Thankfully she had given her boyfriend her apartment key and he was able to get into her place and find her passport and have it faxed to the port office and we got on. I now check and triple check everything!!
