  1. Looking to book a Hawaii cruise in a couple years, looking forward to your review.
  2. Heard a rumour something bigger than Oasis is coming out. Just a rumour, absolutely no validity to it.
  3. Maybe a new (or old) Quantum class will end up in Galveston.
  4. Didn't notice if anyone answered your Nassau meal question. In Nassau the answer is no, no meal is covered under your RC cruise ticket price, only food onboard (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Some excursions offer snacks, or they'll stop at a restaurant at some point, the excursions desk onboard could probably tell you. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the dock. In Coco Cay they do a "BBQ" for lunch, it's covered under your cruise price, because it's RCI's private island. Have fun!
  5. I really really really wanna do the Salty Dog cruise with Flogging Molly one of these years. This year it's on Enchantment! I'm gonna try to follow along with you if I remember. Have a blast!
  6. If I remember correctly, Paradise Beach is the cliche one a lot of people go to (Atlantis).
  7. If it's the one I'm thinking of, the Orlando one is awesome. Spent a day there with my in-laws. The Cape Canaveral one is much smaller, but still a fun day.
  8. I thought more about it and wanted to clarify, we have no private beaches, like some resorts in Jamaica or elsewhere. Jetty Park may have chair rentals and such. The Radisson has no access to the beach, but has a pool. And I'm not sure about the Holiday Inn. Our beach skyline is condos/apartments/time shares. Alan Shepard Park in Cocoa Beach (at the end of state road 520) should have showers and bathrooms and I think 2 restaurants.
  9. Holiday Inn by Jetty Park (had a small lazy river and water slide last I heard). Jetty Park is the closest beach and would probably suffice (there may be a small fee. Has showers and bathrooms). Cherie Down Park, on Ridgewood Ave (has a shower and bathrooms). Cocoa Beach Aerial Adventure. Golf & Gator. Escape Cocoa Beach (escape room). Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar. The Radisson Resort in Cape Canaveral. Rusty's Oyster Bar, if you're into oysters. Any beach will work, they're all the same (I've grown up on them). Most close to the port don't have showers or bathrooms. Some people enjoy the Cocoa Beach Pier, never been myself. There are a few kayaking tours in the area. Airboat tours can be fun as well. Have fun whatever you end up doing!
  10. When we bought some Tequila in Cozumel the salesman showed us the math/exchange rate and said it would show up fine on our credit card as $80, not 1000 pesos (or whatever the exchange rate is). My wife was sceptical, but true to his word it came out right. That was a vendor in the port shopping village by the dock.
  11. We took a cruise during my wife's 23rd week of pregnancy, she had no issues (I purchased the trip insurance RCI offers just in case we had to cancel last minute). Good luck with a pregnancy, and with changing to Bermuda!
  12. https://youtu.be/N3qh0SBH9EU Dated at this point with Oasis, Quantum, and other classes, but a fun watch about Independence of the Seas.
  13. We did the 7 night out of Boston on Serenade in late Oct, 2016, and caught the foliage at the best time (according to our tour guides...maybe they say that to everyone). Loved the whole trip!! Each city had something to offer. We love visiting lighthouses, and were able to see 10 throughout the week. Loved Peggy's Cove in Halifax, Stewman's restaurant in Bar Harbor, whoopie pies in Portland, and the reversing rapids in St John. And of course a good lobster roll anywhere up there. Serenade is a fine ship. One kind of silly thing we liked was the shower door, they did away with the curtains (Enchantment still had curtains both times we were on her, but Freedom had the doors). Balcony was nice except when it got too cold and/or rainy. Rock wall was challenging, they let us go down the kiddie water slide, mini golf was fun, and the movie theater was a fun way to spend some time. Rita's Cantina was enjoyable, especially leaving Portland, watching the lighthouses as we left the bay. The MDR was average, nothing to write home about. Shows were so so. The pool tables seemed to be used quite a bit, though I never got the chance to try them myself. Great trip, would totally do it again!
  14. On Serenade this past October the wandering bartender in the MDR was right there as soon as we were seated, and checked on us throughout the night. By the last few nights he knew what I wanted before I said anything.
  15. Loved our panoramic on Freedom! I've heard a few complaints about the track being cut...i would say use the stairs to get up above deck 12 as part of your run/walk, go to the gym, or use stairs instead of elevators.
  16. Despite some poor reviews on here about Rita's Cantina aboard Serenade, we had dinner there one night when the MDR menu just wasn't calling our names, and we really enjoyed it.
  17. Yeah...quite aggravating. I emailed RCI and they said to use a laptop, or desktop, and to use Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox. I've since tried Firefox on my Android and it's worked much better.
  18. No idea how the lessons work, but I kind of wish I did them for the stand up sessions. I probably wouldn't have felt as pressured by people watching, and waiting on me to fail, lol. I don't think you'd need lessons for the belly/knee boarding. All the newbies I watched picked up on it pretty quick. Have fun!
  19. Waterproof watch. I also keep a maglight on my belt or in my backpack.
  20. It was fun meeting you, and Jerel, and so many others. It's not often that members of forums get to meet in person, we're all just an avatar/picture and words on a screen, so it's cool to have a live person now to put with some of the names.
