  1. Gotta have an ocean view, minimum, for my wife (helps keep the sea sickness down, along with the patch). Tried a balcony on our last cruise, liked it enough. We have a JS booked for our March 2018, and I'm thinking with a baby that might be a good size for us.
  2. Thanks for sharing. I really wanna try to make it on Oasis before this rumored transfer to wherever. Patiently waiting for the rest of the 2018 schedule. No 2017 cruising due to a brand new baby boy.
  3. Yeah, I would see Jade on the deck plans, looked all over for it (even though I don't eat sushi), turns out I walk by it like 5 times. It has a sign, but somehow I missed it. It is in fact just another line or 2 in windjammer
  4. I have some Teva's, similar to JLMoran's Merrill's. Both brands are solid, can't go wrong with either.
  5. That's a good question, I honestly have no idea, and something to keep in mind. Our friend who just became a TA is a big Disney cruiser (one reason she became an agent herself), but has never pushed it on us whenever we all start talk cruising, so it should go better with her (she's also a no bs kinda gal, which could possibly help at some point). MEI will definitely be my future go-to if she doesn't work out.
  6. My wife used a TA for our 2nd cruise, and yes, she got us some OBC which was definitely nice, but overall my wife didn't like the process with a TA, so I just booked our following 3 by myself. However, a friend of ours has recently become a TA, and my wife just gave birth to our baby boy, so I'll go through our friend to add our son to our 2018 cruise. Hopefully it'll go well and we can book through her down the road. Definitely nice to read good TA experiences on here.
  7. My wife and I love Sea World! Get there as early as you can to get the most out of it. Manta is my 2nd favorite roller coaster (after Montu at Busch Gardens).
  8. We did the 7 night out of Boston on Serenade in late Oct, 2016, and caught the foliage at the best time (according to our tour guides...maybe they say that to everyone). Loved the whole trip!! Each city had something to offer. We love visiting lighthouses, and were able to see 10 throughout the week. Loved Peggy's Cove in Halifax, Stewman's restaurant in Bar Harbor, whoopie pies in Portland, and the reversing rapids in St John. And of course a good lobster roll anywhere up there. Would totally do it again. I really want to take the one out of Quebec someday.
  9. Tried reading on board, but I'm used to moving non-stop for work, 8-14hrs, so I tend to wander the ship, rock climb, etc. However, after reading this thread I think I'll try calming down during my next cruise and try some reading again (currently reading LOTR: Return of the King, again).
  10. Didn't do the caves, but the falls were a blast!
  11. Looking to book a Hawaii cruise in a couple years, looking forward to your review.
  12. Heard a rumour something bigger than Oasis is coming out. Just a rumour, absolutely no validity to it.
  13. Maybe a new (or old) Quantum class will end up in Galveston.
  14. Didn't notice if anyone answered your Nassau meal question. In Nassau the answer is no, no meal is covered under your RC cruise ticket price, only food onboard (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Some excursions offer snacks, or they'll stop at a restaurant at some point, the excursions desk onboard could probably tell you. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the dock. In Coco Cay they do a "BBQ" for lunch, it's covered under your cruise price, because it's RCI's private island. Have fun!
  15. I really really really wanna do the Salty Dog cruise with Flogging Molly one of these years. This year it's on Enchantment! I'm gonna try to follow along with you if I remember. Have a blast!
  16. If I remember correctly, Paradise Beach is the cliche one a lot of people go to (Atlantis).
  17. If it's the one I'm thinking of, the Orlando one is awesome. Spent a day there with my in-laws. The Cape Canaveral one is much smaller, but still a fun day.
  18. I thought more about it and wanted to clarify, we have no private beaches, like some resorts in Jamaica or elsewhere. Jetty Park may have chair rentals and such. The Radisson has no access to the beach, but has a pool. And I'm not sure about the Holiday Inn. Our beach skyline is condos/apartments/time shares. Alan Shepard Park in Cocoa Beach (at the end of state road 520) should have showers and bathrooms and I think 2 restaurants.
  19. Holiday Inn by Jetty Park (had a small lazy river and water slide last I heard). Jetty Park is the closest beach and would probably suffice (there may be a small fee. Has showers and bathrooms). Cherie Down Park, on Ridgewood Ave (has a shower and bathrooms). Cocoa Beach Aerial Adventure. Golf & Gator. Escape Cocoa Beach (escape room). Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar. The Radisson Resort in Cape Canaveral. Rusty's Oyster Bar, if you're into oysters. Any beach will work, they're all the same (I've grown up on them). Most close to the port don't have showers or bathrooms. Some people enjoy the Cocoa Beach Pier, never been myself. There are a few kayaking tours in the area. Airboat tours can be fun as well. Have fun whatever you end up doing!
  20. When we bought some Tequila in Cozumel the salesman showed us the math/exchange rate and said it would show up fine on our credit card as $80, not 1000 pesos (or whatever the exchange rate is). My wife was sceptical, but true to his word it came out right. That was a vendor in the port shopping village by the dock.
  21. We took a cruise during my wife's 23rd week of pregnancy, she had no issues (I purchased the trip insurance RCI offers just in case we had to cancel last minute). Good luck with a pregnancy, and with changing to Bermuda!
  22. https://youtu.be/N3qh0SBH9EU Dated at this point with Oasis, Quantum, and other classes, but a fun watch about Independence of the Seas.
