  1. Trust me it bothers us while performing and I am excellent at my job.
  2. Will be on Anthem from NYC to the Bahamas for Thanksgiving. Third year in a row. I cant say that they do much for the holiday actually but find it a nice time of year to go. Comments on Southwest: Used to LOVE it for the convenience to a regional airport near me. The no seat assignment arrangement they have has made it undesirable for us and its like travelling on a cattle train now. The seats are so small as well and they have cut routes from the North East to Florida down so flights fill fast. We travel on jet Blue a lot now because for some extra $ you can get the seats with the extended leg room. I don't consider myself tall at all at 5'11'' but the extra leg room is a nice treat.
  3. These are not movie theaters. Nor is it dinner theater. These are professionals who are working extremely hard at their chosen career who are performing live for the your entertainment. Eating is quite disrespectful to them not to mention to the people sitting around said eater listening to them crunch on Fritos or ooh and ahh at the deliciousness of their chocolate cake. Everyone should enjoy their dessert before or after they attend the theater.
  4. Thanks for this information. After many port stops in Nassau and not really impressed with it we have made it a "stay on the ship day". We are headed there for whats become our annual Anthem Thanksgiving cruise on Anthem and I am already looking forward to this new way to enjoy some beach time!
  5. There was a thread here a while back. It might be helpful to you.
  6. On Anthem I noticed that the only real advertising that you are buying Starbucks coffee is on the cup itself. Other retail shops are boldly banded on the ship. Anyone know why Starbucks isnt? Just curious........
  7. I agree Joe....I think that 3d video is about as close to that ship as I am ever going to get price wise! One can have dreams though....
  8. I have sailed Anthem twice and I am booked for Thanksgiving to the Bahamas (3rd year in a row) and I have also noted the lack of outdoor space. Sailing from New Jersey in November its cold for at east 3 days of the trip so its not really a big problem then. I do find the ship a little large for me but I cannot beat the convenience of a 3.5 hour drive to Bayonne from Boston for the price of a tank of gas. Flights from Boston to Florida have become so price prohibitive, an additional $1000 dollars added to the trip price. There is a long thread here on a Freedom class ships coming to New Jersey but that didn't really pan out. So, for now, Anthem it is and it is a lovely ship. I wish RC would consider moving other ships to the Northeast with more itineraries. A lot of folks in the Northeast will do anything to get out of the cold and with few choices in ports in the area that sail in the winter (New York and Cape Liberty) I am assuming they dont feel the need because Anthem is quite popular by default.
  9. The link that donprivett supplied goes directly to luggage tags for RCL. I have them and have used them multiple times and are very easy to use and very durable. Have a great cruse!
  10. I have Verizon also and live and travel to Maine regularly and I get excellent service. I make calls to the Toronto area and never seem to have any issues with clarity myself.
  11. I thought the fee was only for after midnight room service
  12. I didnt think I was being unfair. I was only commenting on the price. Considering the amount of posts there are on the pricing of drink packages, tip amounts, dining package pricing, terminal parking fees and other shipboard upcharges I thought it was appropriate.
  13. That is one big up charge for convenience on a bottle that normally would cost $7.99......
  14. I have often wondered about the same thing MKSglitz. Why are so many cabins gone so fast? Do they pre-sell off blocks to preferred travel agencies first? Are people just that much faster at booking than me? I have found myself with my "other choice" of cabins a few times because what I wanted originally is gone. I have yet to be disappointed with the cabin I got so not really complaining just wondering how this works really..........
  15. To follow on to what Sarah said about the Cruise Compass - many folks here have posted to this blog that you might want to look at to get an idea of some of the daily activities onboad http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass
  16. I am a huge fan of reading on cruises. Anywhere really. Days at sea are made for it in my opinion. Quiet reading on my balcony is a favorite pass time. I have an author suggestion for you. James Patterson. I have no idea how many books he has published at this point but the man is prolific. I find him especially great for travel because he writes in short chapters. Great for travel when you find yourself in queue at the airport or pre-boarding or customs lines or in between waiting for your next cocktail. I can typically read a chapter or two and never feel like I am restarting a chapter mid paragraph. I tend to bring a bit of mixed media with me. A hardcover book, my kindle and typically one audio book loaded onto my phone for convenience.
  17. On a recent trip in November on Anthem we did the wave runner excursion and it was one of the best excursions I have ever been on hands down. You should know that this is not a lazy slow jetski ride around the island. This is a full out high speed ride. If you like that I highly recommend it. As for the loungers I noticed that when the tender docked most people got off the boat and headed to the left where there are chair and loungers everywhere. We had to go to the right to get to the wave runner excursion. On that side of the island there seemed to be much more beach with plenty of chairs open.
  18. Congratulations and good luck because you are going to love it I am sure. Be sure you pack your medications of any kind in your carry on bag. That would go for jewelry as well. I typically bring some basics for medications like Tylenol, and antihistamine (Benadryl) a few band aides. Yes all of this can be obtained on the ship but at a high price. A sweater or a fleece is a good idea too. Have a wonderful trip!
  19. I think it must depend on docking time and how fast the ship clears from the prior cruise. In November we were on the ship by 10:20.
  20. Of the 5 RCCL cruises we have taken Liberty was the best for us. The size of the Freedom class is perfect. We have since sailed on Quantum class (Anthem) twice and find it is just too big for our taste.
  21. I bought and used these tags on Anthem specifically because they are sized for RC and used them on a recent Anthem trip and they were perfect. For $6.50 for a 4 pack I honestly didn't expect much but the reviews were great. They have metal tag holders and the plastic is good and thick. I will be reusing these over and over. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E4SQNLS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  22. Yes Chris take your ticket with you when you park. I am pretty sure the signs around there tell you to do so. Looks like the rate has stayed at $20 per day but worth checking again when your cruise gets closer. This site has most of the information.
  23. You do not need a reservation to park at Cape Liberty. I posted some tips on the Bayonne port in another thread here. Welcome to RCCL!
