Any discount or even the warehouse clubs TAs are going to sacrifice service for a lower price. That's the compromise for saving a few bucks. While I've had very good experience with land vacations with Costco, you never are able to speak to the same agent and my typical hold time was 20 minutes. And when I looked into booking a cruise with them, I discovered that if the priced dropped, I'd be charged a $75 change fee to reprice, so I decided against using them for cruises.

There are certain agencys that will have a lower price..they are STAR Agencys..and also agencys book group space which in some cases depending on the category can be $100's of dollars cheaper than the cruise line..

The price will be the same whether you book through a TA or Royal. For example, the 30% off is a current sale offered by Royal. However, dinner online agencies will throw in perks to sweeten the deal from their commission, but they aren't allowed to discount the price.

Like the majority of the experienced cruisers will tell you on here,  dragging your luggage around the ship until the rooms open will be a royal pain in the tush.  Most everyone getting on the ship will be exploring so all the public areas will be somewhat crowded.  If you dont mind sitting somewhere until rooms open then go for it.   When the rooms open around 1pm your luggage will be waiting for you or will be there shortly there after.  If you decide to check your luggage make sure to take a small one with you to keep your documents, jewelry , money or anything of real value.  Have a good time and relax (you re on vacation)

Exactly, do you really want to have to lug your luggage around with you as you explore the ship?  Heck, lugging around a gym bag with me the last time got real old, real fast.  My wife was the smart one because she had a small backpack to hold everything she needed until 1:00

You can carry on your luggage. Just keep in mind the bag has to fit in the xray scanner in the terminal. I want to say a suitcase in the 27 inch and under category should fit.
Other thing to keep in mind you won't have access to your room until around 1:00pm.

My TA schedules a reminder for two weeks out as a cushion.  I usually try to make the charge just after the billing cycle for my credit card as I don't carry a balance on my card and that gives me an extra 30 days to pay the credit card off in full.

I wouldn't wait until the day of just in case something comes up that would prevent you from paying it that day.
