We use this hammock that has straps to hold it up…We got it at Samsclub.  Depending on the ship, there are a few things you can wrap the straps around.  I can’t seem to locate a picture of it in use but it does take up most of the balcony space.   We usually unhook one side and clip it to the other side when it’s not in use.

    Kinda the same here
We booked an obstructed balcony for son and his family in 2024.  When we checked out the cabin location earlier this month, it was right above the smoking area.  A quick email to our travel agent got them moved to the port side.

I think this is a Quantum-class thing. On Quantum last year, we were assigned a starboard side Deck 6 obstructed balcony through Royal Up. A quick look up of the deck plans and web searches showed me that we were right above the Deck 5 smoking area. Thankfully, a quick call got us reassigned to the port side. (No fee since the category was the same)

We cruised twice last year on Royal after not cruising for many many years. We recently booked a cruise out of New Orleans for May of next year. Unfortunately Royal is limited on New Orleans departure and not offering when we can go. We booked on another cruise line. I went to an unnamed message board to ask a question and received nothing other than rude or smart ass comments. I miss this message board where I have always received polite, informative responses to my questions. I just want everyone to know how much I appreciate how helpful everyone here has been to me, even when I asked stupid questions.

The individual cruise will show as 1 point in past cruises but is very likely to be properly credited in your points total. We had three cruises under the old system and they show as one point each on the past cruises page but we have 22 points (3x7 plus the random 1 point they added) for those included in our total points.

2010 was under the OLD points system when an entire cruise was only worth 1 "credit" instead of 1 point per night.
With the conversion to the new points system in 2011, your 2010 cruise is now worth 8 points. (1 for the cruise, 7 for the number of nights)
This total should be reflected in your total on your account page.

SPS got a reaction from Cactus527 in I know it is asked a lot forgive me. Hotels with shuttles to the ship in Fort Lauderdale
This past January, we stayed at the Four Points Sheraton located at 18th Street and Highway 1. It was nice enough, but if I stayed there again, I would request a room on the east side of the hotel, away from Hwy1. The street is incredibly busy with A LOT of noise.
FYI: Whatever you book, keep checking the going rates. Just about everywhere was close to the $300 range until about 2 weeks before. The prices for some then started to dip into the $220-$250 range. I cancelled and rebooked our hotel about 1 week prior when the price went down a again from $227 to $187.

i do not envy that sail down the atlantic. we felt a lot of movement on her in december in the caribbean and vowed never again 😅
but then, we are more prone to motion than some, so your mileage may vary.
i do love when they swap out ships this way though, it gives everyone a chance to try new things 💚

Yes. We do this all the time.
We let the porters take our large suitcases and my wife's 24-inch airport carryon while I keep a backpack with all our important documents, electronics, and any valuables with us.

No big wins, but a couple fun events:
While on Rhapsody in 2017, we were just kinda wandering machine to machine playing around. After losing $19 from a twenty in a few quarter machines, I cashed out and had a $1 voucher. Not wanting to cash out for one lousy dollar, I put it in a $1 Stars & Stripes machine and BOOM! $360!
This past August on Quantum, I took my $6 C&A casino bonus and after losing a little, winning a little over 6 days, I left the cruise $260 up without using any of the cash I brought on board!

I hope that everyone here gets to sail with Captain Marek Slaby. He has been tenured on Radiance for a number of years; there is a running rumor he may tapped for Icon— and for good reason. He is the most personable and likable captain I have sailed with. His announcements are honest, frank, and each day he rattles off every birthday aboard, including crew. Passengers stop and listen to his words when he is on the PA.   Honest.

Let me describe how Captian Merek deals with those who are late to come back aboard. “This is Captian Merek coming to you from the bridge. It’s now 5:40 and all aboard was at 5:30. We are still waiting for Tom and Mary in cabin 9632, Rueben from cabin 3126, and Estelle from cabin 1174…..” There a grins from ear to ear on everyone onboard when they hear the captain very publicly call out those who are late.

Those grins turn out to widespread laughter the next port stop when you here the following “the local authorities have cleared the ship and the gangway on deck 2 is now open. I would like to remind Estelle in cabin 1174, Tom and Mary from cabin 9632, and Reuben from cabin 3126 that all aboard is at 6:30 pm tonight….”

Allow me to say one more nice thing about Captian Marek. Capt Marek loves to sing. He has single handedly created a show that happens once a week in the Centrum; Rock’in With the Captain. It’s the band and six or seven crew members (all amateurs) who also like to sing and are shockingly quite good! They are wearing their work uniforms of cabin attendant, server, laundry person, etc. They sing whatever songs they want across any genre. The Captain…..his jam is 80’s Judas Priest!
