  1. The OP specifically said the luggage was lost by the airline. There was no mention of travel insurance either.
  2. Welcome to the boards. You are going to find a lot of helpful information and advise on this forum. We went to all of your ports on a cruise out of Tampa about 5 years ago, Roatan, Honduras-We went on a multiple leg zip-line excursion through the jungles that was SO MUCH fun. Costa Maya-There are several great things to do here. We booked an excursion that took us to a to a local resort to do some snorkeling followed by about 3 hours of beach time with an open bar included. Music was a bit loud but we really enjoyed ourselves. Lunch was not included, but, it was some very good food that was well worth the money. Cozumel-Again, MANY great things to do here. We booked a Jeep adventure in which a small convoy of us drove across the island to off-road to a small Mayan ruin on the beach that was used to send signals to tribesmen out fishing so they could find their way home. Another short off-road drive took us to a private beach for some relaxation and a freshly prepared taco/fajita lunch that was fantastic. A "bathroom break" stop on the way back just happened to be at a local tequila distillery being VERY generous with the samples. (Yeah, this was a little tourist trappy, but the tequila was so good, I had to bring a bottle back!) My #1 tip (and many other peoples, too) is to purchase the things you want ahead of time. Buying items like Drink Packages, Dining, Excursions, etc. will be a good deal less money that purchasing them on board.
  3. When I first read your response I thought it said… I probably had 5 each day of my 4 night cruise!!! Wait, that's not normal?
  4. We are in the same boat. (No pun intended) We are on the January 29th sailing of Odyssey. On 11/2, Grand Cayman (Day3) had been replaced by Nassau, Bahamas (Day2). Just yesterday, 11/15, Nassau excursions became listed in the Cruise Planner. Although, the Grand Cayman excursions are still listed under "Day3: Cruising". The different ports you have been switched to may take longer to list what is available. Also, additional excursions may be added even after they start to populate, so keep checking back.
  5. Great. Now I have to worry about this possible scenario in January. Am I gonna have to buy a six-pack (or more?) to ensure that we get at least TWO usable tests? This would be a real problem for people that need to fly in the day before. We would be landing at FLL at about the time those replacement tests would be delivered to our house.
  6. When we sailed out of Tampa, we stayed at the "Hampton Inn Tampa-Veterans Expwy (Airport North)" the night before. Very clean, comfortable, & affordable. (About 4 miles north of the airport) Big selling point for me was that they provided shuttle service from the airport to the hotel AND complementary shuttle service to the cruise port. Just had to make arrangements with the desk clerk on arrival.
  7. We booked our upcoming Odyssey cruise about a year in advance. A re-price just a week later reduced our price by $147. A SECOND re-price a week after that, reduced it by another $254 for a total savings of $401 in just two weeks. I think the real savings is the fact that we booked so far in advance. Right now, the cabin right next to ours (same category) is priced at $1178 ($589pp) more than we paid!
  8. I understand, I'm cheap too! I think it would also be worth the extra $44 to be able to go straight to your car after the cruise without waiting in a line for (possibly) several shuttles to take several families worth of passengers and their luggage to the off site lot. I understand that you would have ONE person shuttle to/from the lot, but, many people just don't/won't consider doing that.
  9. Topper's Rhum is on the Dutch side. We have visited them twice at their original location. They have just recently relocated the restaurant and the distillery to Welfare Road in Cole Bay.
  10. I tend to try several different drinks on embarkation day, so whatever drink I'm having when the ship starts moving is my Sail Away Drink!
  11. Really? When did The Quest turn into "Let's Make A Deal"?
  12. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I will not volunteer for The Quest! FYI: I notice that the volunteers are usually young, first-time cruisers that don't know they are in for!
  13. So last week we became another victim of Grand Cayman not being available to cruise ships for early 2022. Our itinerary has been changed to visiting Nassau, Bahamas instead. Has anyone that has had the same/similar itinerary change noticed how long it takes the Cruise Planner to update to include excursions for the new port of call?
  14. Matt won't be at his mansion for Christmas. He'll either be at his Aspen ski chalet, his chateau in the south of France, or his New York penthouse.
  15. oh! and in el loco fresh! Good to know! Sailing Odyssey in January. Thanks!
  16. On our two visits to St Maarten, we did a couple different things. First Visit: We rented a car at the port, drove over to Orient Beach and went parasailing (Awesome!) and then went to visit Topper's Rhum for a tour and tasting. (VERY good rum. Second Visit: We booked a tour to visit Topper's Rhum again (had to re-stock!), followed by a lunch at Topper's Restaurant (same owner, different location), and a very nice visit to the beach nearby. We booked this through a third party site. FYI: Topper's Rhum and Topper's Restaurant have now moved into a new location in the same facility since we last visited in January 2020.
  17. Does anyone else think it kinda looks like it's wearing a flat cap? (taxi driver's hat)
  18. +1 for direct messaging RCL on Facebook or Twitter. Very responsive and helpful. This is a good time to remind people that if you have an issue with your cruise, you should always seek out a resolution to your issue(s) while still on board. It is much more difficult to receive an acceptable solution after the fact. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2020/08/15/the-top-crew-members-find-if-you-have-problem-onboard-your-cruise
  19. Original itinerary was a sea day followed by Grand Cayman then on to Aruba/Curacao. (Sea/GC/Sea/Aruba/Curacao/2-Sea) Now we have Nassau followed by an additional sea day on the way to Aruba/Curacao. (Nassau/2-Sea/Aruba/Curacao/2-Sea) HOWEVER, the cruise planner has GC replaced by Falmouth, Jamaica, but the "Falmouth" excursions are actually Grand Cayman excursions! (Not very hopeful that we will get Jamaica instead of Nassau)
  20. PD at CC would be great! Even Grand Bahama would be nice. I'm not really that thrilled to go to Nassau again.
  21. So I guess it does look like Grand Cayman is closed to cruise ships for all of January. We were due to visit on January 31st and I just got word that those plans have changed. Not sure if those plans would be different if we were stopping there in February (literally the NEXT day). Looks like we'll try to take advantage of the low amount of people onboard that day to do some of the things Odyssey has!
  22. I find that the freestyle machines refuse to accept a tip when you offer it to them! Gratuities have already been included as part of your complimentary soda package. FYI: When purchasing beverage packages either onboard or online, an additional 18% is added to the total at checkout for gratuity.
  23. No and no. I suspected that for both questions. Someone at RC has some schedule adjusting to do.
