  1. The Four Points Sheraton at the corner of Highway 1 and 18th Street is close to the port and also offers shuttle service both from the airport and to the cruise port.

I would recommend requesting a room on the east facing side as there is quite of bit of traffic noise from Highway 1 on the west side.

  2. Our January 2025 cruise will take us to St. Croix for our first ever visit.

Is there some lack of excursions on the island of St. Croix? (Through both RC and third party)

While it is quite a bit of time until we go, there is nothing listed on the app/website for Royal Caribbean or a couple of the third party excursion providers that we frequent.

Any suggestions? In the end, if nothing is too appealing to us, we'll just explore on our own.

  3. A couple times in the past, I have seen earlier times become available well after check-in opens.

For our Odyssey cruise in early 2022, I checked in just after midnight and 12:30 was the earliest time available. About a week later, 11:00 became available and I updated our arrival time.

  4. On my two successful Royal Up bids, we were notified well in advance of our sailing.

The first (Odyssey 1/2022), we were notified about 1 month in advance. The second (Quantum 8/2022), we were notified about 2 1/2 weeks in advance.

There is no set timeline and it varies from ship to ship, sailing to sailing. Like Tony said above, you may even find out at the port!

  5. I got the "Update to iOS 17" note on the app a couple days ago. After a couple close/reopen attempts, I was automatically reconnected to the app with no problems.

I'm using an iPhone 12 currently running iOS 16.6. Just been too lazy to update to iOS version 17. I'll get around to it when I'm good and ready! 😆

I filled out the form Royal provided and was told to tell the waiters of my allergies when dining. I was just wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions or share experiences regarding this subject. I’m a bit nervous about not having control and preparing my own food. I’m taking a few gluten free things with me but welcome any suggestions.

Don't be nervous! I've posted quite a few times about my wife's experiences here with having to eat gluten-free on RC ships. Each time, (eight and counting) the staff has been very helpful and accommodating to ensure that she is served the gluten-free foods she requires. If you do a search or the boards for "gluten free", you will find a lot of good information. Also, some time back, @Matt posted an article to the front page about eating GF of RC ships.

TIP: In the dining room, your waiter or head waiter will bring you the NEXT night's menu to 1.) Let you make choices from what is already gluten free. 2.) Inform you of what choices to avoid entirely. 3.) (The BEST one) Let you know what items can be modified to be gluten free so they can have a GF item prepared especially for you!

    Hope this helps!

Native Choice is a popular and trustworthy 3rd party tour company that goes there.

I will second that. We booked a Chacchoben tour with Native Choice for our cruise back in January.

Native Choice was a Great Choice! Knowledgeable tour guide, terrific lunch provided, with good transportation in new, clean, comfortable vans.

The explanation is probably not enough people booked it.

This is highly likely. We had a similar situation in Fort Lauderdale. We were hoping to book a disembarkation day excursion that included an FLL drop off.

The excursions desk attendant told us that there was not enough interest in the usual post-cruise excursion that offered drop off, so it was not being offered for our cruise.

So, I reluctantly bought a day of internet and booked a rental car to explore on our own for a few hours. Obviously, FLL is very close to port, so rental cars are plentiful.

If I'm reading the OP's second post correctly, though, there may be no more rental cars available near port.

  9. Sadly, the escape room was closed as we found out on our sailing this past January.

It's located on Deck 14 Forward as the Puzzle Break near Adventure Ocean. There are still markings that indicate it in the carpet and vinyl wrapping on the wall.

Hopefully it's coming back since you were able to book it. It was never listed in our Cruise Planner as an option.
