  1. I have 20+ watches.  Watch prices are set by the manufacturer and haggling for a deal is difficult.  Watch out (LOL) for the Invicta deals. 75% off sound fantastic but you can score much better deals on EVINE for Invicta .  Perfect example, I have one Invicta that I get many compliments on. (I'll post picture later) I se it on the ship for retail $995.00.  They offer 75% off. so it's about $250.00 out the door with no tax.  sounds great. WELL, I got the exact same watch from EVINE for $70.00...in a set of three watches, all similar style totaling $210.00ish.  I also have a Philip Stein that Diamonds International gave me for free when my wife bought a Mega expensive diamond necklace. Your biggest deal is not paying sales tax. You get decent deals but nothing is a steal.

Go to the shopping seminar they run. My guess is it will be the day before Cozumel. They will walk you though exactly were to go for watches AND most likely offer the entire seminar group a free taxi ride to the shopping area.

    trolley back to the port.

Be careful with the Trolley. We stayed at the Embassy Suites (highly recommend) in 2015. The trolley stop is RIGHT THERE. made it to the port in minutes BUT when we returned, with ticket for trolley in hand, the trolley was not running until 11AM BOOOO...WALK back to Embassy suites to pick up a rental car... 20 minutes dragging luggage along the way.

We have a rolling carry on, so we will just lug it around for a bit

In the past I have had very heavy carry on bags and have just walked my happy behind to my cabin and dropped it in the cabin (Seapass was given beforehand) My steward was cleaning and told me I should not have been there. He really didn't care. I just put the 5 carry on bags (Royal Family Suite - 8 People) in the closet an walked back to the Prominade.  is it right...no.  Can you do it...sure.

Hi @Matt!  I have a request and/or suggestion for future blogs. I think we need dedicated vlogs with information on the various ports that Royal Caribbean uses, one vlog per port if possible.  I think it's undeniable that every cruise starts with the port experience. It would be very helpful, especially for first time cruisers, to find information on nearest airports, train stations, rideshare app availability, taxis, airport transfers, baggage handling, tipping, hotels with shuttles, etc.  When I made a search in the blog, I found one for the Port Tampa quickly. Then after some more searching, I found one for Fort Lauderdale.  While "shopping" for cruises, I've found myself having to look in many places for this kind of information.

I was thinking a similar thing the last few months with our Labor Day cruise on Enchantment out of Galveston Tx. VERY  little info is available on this site. I wanted to add more content for people looking to sail out of this mediocre city. I blogged the cruise but further more I added a bunch of info about this under utilized CHEAP port to sail out of.

@Matt Is it possible to add a "TAB" to the message board that just says "PORTS". Then either sub tabs for every port or just let the locals make city posts "Galveston" "Miami" "Progreso" etc.  this will make it easier to find info on a particular port.

I know in formal dining, there are things you can do with the silverware to let the waitstaff know what you want.  How about at the Windjammer?

Utensils parallel on your plate means you're finished & crossed like an X means you are still working on it, but severs don't serving your dish to the left and remove from the right doesn't even happen anymore on ships... so I doubt that would work for you.

flag the table with a book or grab one of the crew or a neighboring table and give them a head's up first before getting up.

Thanks again for the info! I actually canceled my rentals with Enterprise and reserved cars with them. It was half the cost. New plan will be pick first car up at FLL and return to their 5th location embarkation day. I’ll take an Uber back to the port after dropping the wife/kids/luggage off early. After the cruise I will pick up rental #2 at 5th st and head to Orlando and return at MCO. There were no “one way rental” fees for either of them.

PERFECT, Saved a good amount of cash and definitely saved time. We once got a Mercedes from them for $19.00 a day. It was great!!!!  have a blast!!

One word of caution on your trip to Orlando/Disney are. IF your GPS wants to take you onto Route 60 to cross over to central Florida DOUBLE CHECK  the GPS that there are NO accidents on Route 60. Two different time we had to back track because there was no way around the accident out in the swamps.

Thanks for the tip!! I just looked at their prices and they are 1/2 the cost of my rental from enterprise. Do you know if they have a shuttle from the port to MIA, or do you Uber/Lyft?

I'm sure they have a shuttle.  We took a cab to the nearest location to avoid the long ride and craziness of MIA.  Also no Airport fee if you rent off site (away from airport)

Address: 705 5th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139

    Phone: (305) 808-3878

Embarkation day I will drop the family off at the port around 10, bring the car back to MIA and take the enterprise shuttle back to the port. I looked at dropping off at other locations near the port, but this was the most cost effective.

I would look into the Pick up at MIA and drop downtown option today and see if it has changed for the better. Try Travelocity.com too. I'd put money on it that it is better now.  Also try Sixt car rental. A few years back they wee trying to 'buy ' the market with ridiculously low prices.
