Matt, I just thought I'd give an update about what I saw on the Adventure of the Seas webpage this morning-

I was looking this morning at pricing on our cruise in February on Adventure of the Seas and noticed some changes to RCI's site. First off, if you go to the AOS page, it now lists things as "coming soon", like the FlowRider, the water slides, Boleros Latin Lounge, etc. When I started digging deeper, in going to the deck plans, I noticed that they have started to spell out specifically where the changes will be taking place. Here they are:

-Flow Rider- Aft deck 13 (all the way back)
-Water Slides- Aft deck 13 (one side of the Flow Rider)
-Splashaway Bay- Aft deck 13 (other side of the Flow Rider)
-10 new inside cabins- deck 3 next to the Photo Gallery (that's how I read it anyway)
-19 new cabins- deck 3 where Jesters used to be
-Chops Grill- deck 4 where Jesters used to be
-Boleros Latin Lounge- deck 4 where the Aquarium Bar used to be
-Aquarium bar- deck 4 across the Centrum from where it used to be
-Card Room/Library- deck 5 where the Connoisseur Lounge used to be
-Izumi- deck 5 middle of the Royal Promenade
-38 more cabins- deck 12 in front and around the sides of the Vitality Spa
-Suite Lounge- deck 14 where Seven Heart Card room and Cloud Nine used to be

The pool deck looks like it remains untouched (thank goodness!). I hope that helps. Please add to this if you notice anything missing. Thanks and I look forward to seeing her all revamped!

All you need to do is post the ship, sailing date, stateroom category and price.  Be sure to include any pertinent details.

Well here is the thing Matt... On our Allure cruise Voom was 22.50 for a two device plan.. Now the cruise planner is saying its $22.50 which includes 30% off.. So i think right away that is annoying..

I have decided for my Oasis cruise in 4 days I am going to buy it onboard and use my Diamond plus discount and see if that saves me more or if buying online will save me more.. If buying online saves me more than i will buy the internet package online for my August Anthem sailing.. I will be happy to report back soon...

Well I don't know about that, I just assumed it was a financial decision on RC's part - if I were to pull something out of my backside, I'd say that Izumi brings in more profit per square foot vs Sabor.  All they really need is a refrigerator for the fish, a pot to boil the rice in, and a small table to assemble it.  Sabor requires a whole kitchen for the menu.

    (how's that for an oversimplification!)

I've been on the Navigator twice now and loved it both times.  It is a beautiful ship with a lot to do, and was recently (within the last few years) refurbished.  You will enjoy it!

I've seen peoples doors decorated.  And they will do some decorating but it cost you.  Not sure of restrictions, guess only tape and magnets.   Of course you could attempt to bring a nail gun.. Would make for interesting conversation at the security line...

    Thank Bill for his service..

On Oasis class ships both Sabor and Izumi are a la carte. On some ships Sabor is a flat fee - this is why some are known as Sabor Modern Mexican and others are known as Sabor Taqueria

In either of these restaurants pretty much everything carries a cost (sans a glass of water).  While I very much enjoyed both experiences, Sabor was a bargain in my opinion.  Three decent sized tuna tacos and an order of handmade guac was $9.  The guac can easily be split several ways.

No plans have been announced yet as to what changes are coming to Adventure of the Seas, but I'd guess it should be similar to what other Voyager class ships received in their refurbishments.

Almost all of them got a FlowRider, so it stands to reason a FlowRider coming to Adventure of the Seas is likely.

We will have to wait and see for the official word.

I don't believe that for a second.  Make sure you or your TA adds you to the waiting list for the dining rotation you would like.

If all else fails, go to MDR on embarkation day and speak to head waiter.  They will be able to place you in the dining rotation of your choice.

I just called C&A, she said she could put us on the wait list for 8:30 but not for 6:30.  She also said its too early and the seating hasn't opened up.  Said usually 90 to 120 days out is when they open up the traditional dining, so I'll call back starting at 120 days out.

Magnetic clip.  That way you can clip the Cruise Compass and have it stick to an obvious place on a wall so you don't misplace it.

I wouldn't say the two cruise lines are equal, but for the price difference they're close enough. Disney is a bit more inclusive and has better and more extensive kid and family programming. I also like the dining a bit better on Disney. However, these differences have not led me to book Disney in the last few years as I find Royal to be a better value overall.

I'm taking my wife, oldest daughter and her friend on a 7 night Western Caribbean Cruise that leaves June 2017! This is to celebrate my daughter's high school graduation! We had normally taken 10-12 day trips yearly to Walt Disney World but after the constant price increases and the desire to do something new for our daughter's trip, we went cruise shopping. I'd always heard RC was about equal to the Disney Cruise Lines except where it mattered: price! haha I just couldn't get myself to pay DCL prices!

Now to somehow get these 415 days to pass quickly. haha

Cruise_Addict reacted to jticarruthers in Keen DCL cruiser thinking of Royal Caribbean
I think you will find they are more alike than they are different.

Have not experienced the Quantum class (Ovation) but have sailed both Disney and Royal.

For me Disney does better on service and food but neither one is bad by any means, Disney's pricing is too much for the difference though so Royal is our default except for a couple of splurges here and there.

Staterooms are very hard to compare directly since it depends on the class of room, etc. but I would say like to like are similar in size. Ovation being brand new is probably a little nicer and it sounds like you are considering a suite vs a regular room on Disney in which case you will definitely notice the increase in size/amenities and the additional service from being suite class should easily offset any difference (as perceived by me) in service level between the lines.

Personally if cost was not an issue we would always choose DCL over RCL, however, in the real world for comparable costs you are likely doing a suite on a new ship with RCL vs. a regular room on an older ship with DCL, which tips the scales to RCL for me.
