Your assumption is that we as individuals may be able to weather this storm, BUT what about the cruise lines,  RC, Carnival and Norwegian??  Now that the 100 Day order from the CDC is in place, its looking worse.

Not true.  Entirely depends on the crew as well and their Visa status. If they are D1 Visa holders, no matter the ship, they have NOT departed the US from a port if they just go nowhere.  They have to go to another foreign port.  Its different if they are an all American crew or a permanent resident crew.    Immigration Law is in play here as well.

I've bid twice, on two separate cruises, since they started it.  It's totally automated and is handled by a third party administrator and not RC and is a company who handles bids and upgrades for both cruise and hotel industry.  I was notified both times that my bids were not Accepted.i was told about 24 hours before the embarkation.

Curious as to why they are STILL going to Labadee when they have this?  I am doing Oasis for New Year 2020 after the AMPED and we're doing Labadee.

@Justice. Agree.  I bid on a GS and won.  I was notified on February 15 with a set sail date of February 24, 2019.  Moving from a JS was great.

No need to discuss it with the LA on board.  They can't change points or anything of that nature.  They email CAS at corporate and wait to hear back just like you can.
The process of CAS relationships and dependents is somewhat vague.  The actual verbiage of the program is as follows:
A Crown & Anchor Society member can be added into a relationship with other family members in the same household and receive equivalent tier status; however Cruise Points will remain according to actual cruises taken and calculated using the Program level accrual system described above. Pinnacle Club member tier status will not be awarded to dependents if earned by their parent and/or guardian. Pinnacle Club member tier status can only be earned by an individual, spouse or significant other by one of them accumulating 700 Cruise Points or more in the CAS program. For all tiers except Pinnacle Club, a relationship is defined as a spouse or significant other and children less than 18 years old. For Pinnacle Club a relationship is considered a spouse and/or significant other. Children will be taken out of a relationship with a parent or guardian upon their 18th birthday date. If it is found that a dependent or child is not immediately removed from a relationship upon their 18th birthday and accumulates a higher tier status outside of this time period, the dependents record will be adjusted back to the appropriate tier status. So let's say you are Diamond when your children turn 18.  Soon after you earn Diamond Plus.  CAS neglected to remove your dependent children from the "Relationship" and they were automatically assigned Diamond Plus when you earned it.  By rules they should not have eared D+.  If discovered, they would be set back to Diamond, the status they had before they were 18.  It does NOT state they will be reset to zero, rather "adjusted back to the appropriate tier status."
Their CAS points will always be what they have actually sailed in their lifetime.  If they sailed just one 7 night cruise and have 7 points, at age 18 they would have 7 points and Diamond status since in my example that is what you had when they turned 18.  In my example, they will have to reach 175 points all on their own starting with just 7 points to become D+.

They can't get the slides and bits in place in a few weeks.  It's takes months to manage that supply chain and delivering materials to the shipyard just at the right time.  They'll have their hands full replacing railings and fixing the crane damage while trying to get her into service ASAP to avoid more cancellations.
All they can do is lightweight work like carpeting and upholstery in the coming weeks.  I really don't see them scrapping the AMP and to what end?  If they cut the November AMP short in pursuit of placing it in service early they would have a very short sales cycle.  Trying to book the ship to sail full in November a mere six to eight months away means they won't sell it out.  She normally enjoys a two year sales cycle.  People would see through it and she would remain the old Oasis incapable of fetching the premium she will once she is "Symphonized".
Then she sails into NYC as the old Oasis rather than the new AMPED Oasis everyone is expecting. Or they can't sail into NYC because the stacks aren't modified in November to allow her to clear the bridge.   Then if she goes to Galveston in 2021 she is the old Oasis again failing to meet expectations.
I don't think they will abandon or modify the November plans.  Doing so would be fruitless.

Wait, which cruise website am I on again?
100% this is a to each their own thing. What is valuable to one person may not be valuable to another. In the end, it's not going to affect my own cruise experience. The particular introduction of the key poses little impact to those who have chosen not to purchase the key. It is what it is.

@Andrew72681 Thanks. You made my point!!  Why is P, as in Profit, a bad word? These ships ( or casinos) cost billions, with a B.  Add to that the cost of lodging, entertainment , fuel, insurance , etc. . I look at it this way. RC could literally give cabins away, but then charge ( nickel and dime) for everything from a resort fee to food to services rendered.  It all comes out in the wash. It's pay me now or pay me later.

Those who complain. The solution is simple. Don't cruise or  better yet, take a staycation. It's really very simple.

Just me, and FYI we do balcony.  We get the DPB.  We get Voom Surf and Stream for 1.  We do dinner packages. We do RCCL excursions.  We rent bungalows or cabanas.  Point being I am not going cheap.  The cheap part of our cruise is the room.
However, that being said I would not pay for the Key.
    1. The key would be like the DPB.  We would need to book both of us.  Even though it includes Voom, we only book 1 device.  We unplug on our cruises.  We don't need 2 devices.  Thus, the Key is already costing me more money.
    2. It has never taken me more than 15-20 minutes to get through the terminal and onto the ship.  I don't see how going through the Key line is really saving me a ton of time.  OMG it takes me 30-45 mins, oh well, is that worth 20 bucks a day to me? NOPE
    3. Chops for lunch.  As Waaaytoo has stated the restaurants are now frenzied with the Key passengers.  We are more the type that grabs a bite to eat at the WJ, and hang out at the pool before they cattle call us for the muster drill.  We purchase the dining package and the Chefs table.  Maybe if you don't purchase that, than the specialty at Chops is a good deal.  However, you could get a Chops lunch at 22 bucks pp.  So you aren't really saving money in the end if you think about it.
    4. Luggage drop off.  Okay, but that is still a maybe.  We are doing Adventure in July for 8 nights.  I don't think 320 for the 2 of us is worth it.
    5. I have been on different size ships.  Anthem has been the largest.  Anthem allows you to reserve for shows.  All of the seats in their theaters were good.  They had 3 specialty shows, if you reserve and show up early enough you will get great seats.  Even if you don't, this is not like Madison Square Garden in size.  You still will be able to see the show just fine.  Adventure does not offer this option.
    6. I live to eat, not eat to live.  The breakfast/lunch for the last a.m. means nothing to me.
Thus, when I do the costs, $320 for 8 nights is not worth it.  Now if they added something from the spa, I might re-think it.  $320 would pay for my Voom Surf/Steam (1 device), Chefs Table (2),  and just shy of a 3 night specialty(2 ).  I could run it another way.  It would pay for my catamaran excursion (2), my spa lime scrub and pedicure, our galley brunch (2).
Just me, but I have a limited budget.  Room and excursions mean more to me than getting on the ship 15-30 mins faster or a "special seating" for shows, or even a breakfast the day I am getting off the ship.   We plan to do Symphony in 2020, and if it came down to costs, the Key would be at the bottom of my totem pole.

It's a perception.  The only item is exclusive hours at designated activities.
The flip side is this - if Royal had changed the hours of the flowrider for example, made them 10am to 2pm instead of 9am to 2pm, few people would notice or complain.  The fact that 9am to 10am is now exclusive to the Key for two days out of seven has people proclaiming a loss.
It was their god given right to use the flowrider from 9am to 2pm and now Royal has taken away their birth right and granted it to Key people at a cost.
