That's insane. They're going to have to disembark somewhere else.
Along with the human tragedy, that's going to be a nightmare for months, even years to come for the region.
And while trying to avoid being completely crass about the disaster, a new potentially taller bridge sure makes things interesting for the future of cruising in Baltimore.

This is tragic. The first video I saw clearly showed the ship losing electrical power twice. But it looked to me like she was already not in the channel. I suspect the cascade of events goes back before the power outages seen on the bridge webcam.
It's a nightmare scenario for everyone involved. There will likely be pressure to clear the debris and open the channel as quickly as possible. I hope they don't do that until they've recovered every person possible. Their families deserve that.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, .....
I'm taking a bow with such accolades. There's no doubt, I love Lady G.
You don't realize how many windows there are with views out into the ocean until you go on the larger ships. For example, the Schooner Bar. It's all windows on the one side. When you look up through the Centrum .... it's a giant skylight at the top. Unlike the larger ships that are very horizontal in the venues ... smaller ships with the Centrum are designed to think vertically ... many items surrounding a central core as opposed to a promenade.
As for questions, ask away @Revo1776 , I'll do my best to help.

Once USCG agrees to perform a helicopter evac it's all in the hands of the USCG. They dictate where on the ship, speed and heading. It is possible given the winds or other factors that USCG decides to evac from a high deck instead of the the helipad. I've seen two evacs on other lines that didn't use the bow but chose high aft. I've seen helicopters land on helipads and I've seen helicopter hover over helipads and use the winch. It's all whatever they feel is best on that day.

The patient was my mother in law. My husband was on the phone with his dad and medical crew. It took 3 announcements by the Captain to clear decks 15 and 16. I stand by my statement that people are selfish - too concerned about getting a picture than following directions.

If this was Oasis on Saturday 8/27 - maybe if people weren’t such selfish asshats taking pictures instead of clearing the pool deck the first 2 times the captain asked them to, the helicopter wouldn’t have had to hover for over 30 minutes.

They don't deploy local firefighters to ships during a helicopter evacuation. The ship has fire fighting equipment and the full fire fighting suits with air supply for battling fires on board.
It's standard procedure to deploy the ship fire team when a helicopter evacuation is occurring. That is in case the helicopter crashes or static discharge from the whirling blades causes a fire.
Fire on a ship is the worst possible emergency. They have everything on board staged in strategic areas to be ready for the worst possible outcome. They always suit up for helicopter evacs.

Another question would be did the emergency response crew have to show proof of vaccine and a negative test result before being able to board 🤣

Honor system. I guess they are willing to believe we'll do the right thing.

coneyraven got a reaction from 4ensic in Guess what date Testing will be dropped...
Since Carnival announced on Friday that the Pre-Test for fully vaccinated folks on sailings under 16 days takes affect on 9/6 --- My guess, for the fun of the post is, they'll make the announcement today or tomorrow, taking affect on Thursday, 9/8. Pure speculation, but since Carnival's announcement, I agree with you that, like Thanos said, it's inevitable. In fact, to my knowledge, RC is one of the last ones to drop it.
