  1. Exactly, do you really want to have to lug your luggage around with you as you explore the ship? Heck, lugging around a gym bag with me the last time got real old, real fast. My wife was the smart one because she had a small backpack to hold everything she needed until 1:00
  2. That wouldn't surprise me in the least ...... You may recall, Enchantment was going out of Baltimore during the last Grandeur refurbishment back in '12.
  3. That is so funny --- we have some friends that are on Navigator this week, and last night we viewed their recording of the belly-flop contest and my wife and I both said, "That sounds like the same music they played on Grandeur back in September for the belly-flop contest too" Hmmm.... Inquiring minds want to know
  4. I'm guessing the country music aspect was from when Navigator used to go out of Galveston (consider your audience I guess) --- I can't imagine that would be the case now. I'm wondering how far back that posting was.
  5. September 16 --- 5 nighter to Bermuda --- See you on Deck 10 Starboard for Sail-Away ---- lol
  6. We'll be on Grandeur in September ...... As they say ...... "Come on Down!!!!" ---
  7. Grandeur is going out of Baltimore year round ... Rhapsody is currently going out of Tampa.
  8. I find it a little hard to believe, especially with Grandeur, considering all the work that's been done to satisfy the environmental regulations for being in the Chesapeake..... plus, with the new multi-year agreement with Maryland and the City of Baltimore, what next? Enchantment? Vision? Or will a Radiance Class ship actually fit under the bridges? I guess we'll see.
  9. Give it time, you just never know ..... that's actually a pretty cool idea .... It could have the same affect as the one in Vegas on the Stratosphere.
  10. Anthem of the Seas .... As Tyna would say, we've got to try the bubble that rises up...
  11. I read that Norwegion Cruise Lines had counselors on board on the ships that left on both Friday & Saturday --
  12. Rhapsody was supposed to go in some time in December ..... I wonder if the schedule has been pushed back on other ships due during the early part of 2017.
  13. OMG!!! That was amazing ---- they were all "feeling no pain" --- including Michael .... That will forever be my favorite scope from Michael..... He and his "new friends" were obviously having a good time.
  14. I was always under the impression, you didn't get taxed on lottery winnings here in the states on anything under $600 -- and, you only needed to report overseas (cruise) winnings when you come back if they were $10,000 or greater .... Not sure on the accuracy of the $10k, but it would seem reasonable.
  15. My favorite moment? When Tyna and I were on the side of the pool watching the belly-flop contest only to realize, we were in direct site of the camera..... what we didn't realize is that every time the music would start up, I'm doing the "Night At The Roxbury" move while sitting there, and of course, with many of the reruns on the TV, I got to see it over and over again...... It was embarrassingly funny because after that moment, Tyna would never let me live it down.... The other is, that moment of zen when lounging on the pool deck and realizing that you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about - this can only be achieved on a cruise.
  16. I couldn't agree with you more .... we're 3 hours due west ...... but you're right, both bridges create limitations .... not even sure if Radiance class would fit .... we know definitely not Voyager Class or anything larger ..... There would have to be a whole new terminal built south of the Bay Bridge, and that would be a major expense.
  17. A second ship home ported at Bayonne or Baltimore - If Bayonne, Freedom Class ..... If Baltimore, Vision Class --- They can be doing opposing short cruises to Bermuda and longer ones to the Bahamas simultaneously. Adding a brand new east coast port --- perhaps Charleston .... (ok, a person can dream)
  18. Let's see ---- Sovereign - Navigator - and Grandeur ..... From an emotional standpoint of being able to recharge my batteries ..... Grandeur by a mile ..... Although, I will admit, Sovereign was a lot of fun so I have been eyeing up Majesty lately --- Nothing against Navigator ..... I love it, but for some reason, Grandeur just hit it out of the ballpark for me. Now, coming up will be a second Grandeur, then Rhapsody, so it looks like Vision Class is going to control my world for a while.
  19. Exactly, as Matt said, it doesn't have all the bells & whistles, and for my wife and I, that's just fine ..... We were on Rhapsody's sister ship, Grandeur, back in September, and I can honestly say, it's the best cruise I've had yet. Being a smaller ship, it seemed more cozy and personable (of course, the largest I'd ever been on was Voyager Class - so that's the best I could compare to.) I guess the real question is, what are you looking for in a cruise? Do you have kids? Ages? What do they want in a cruise vacation? We have a cruise booked on Rhapsody in the Spring of '18 - We had absolutely no reservation in booking it, Thanks to Grandeur and our new found love of the Vision Class, Rhapsody seemed like a ship that would make us feel at home.
  20. I would really love it if you could let me in on the secret ..... This is a pretty cool feature. Thanks,
  21. Thanks Doc ..... That's sort of what I was hoping for ..... Being that it's just my wife and I, getting a table without a reservation really isn't a problem, but this was a question that I, myself, was also curious about. Mark
  22. Ok, to preface the question ..... we are trying to get another couple to book with us for our September cruise on Grandeur ... They are new to cruising so naturally, we showed them our Cruise Compasses so they can get an idea as to how much there really is to do......then the following question came up..... When the My Time Dining has times that say 5:30 - 8:30 (I don't have the Compass in front of me as I type this so I'm not exact on the times, but that's irrelevant to the question) ---- does that mean you have to be FINISHED by 8:30, or could you show up at, say, 8:25 and be able to enjoy a nice meal? Thanks a bunch, Mark
  23. NO!!!!!! NOT MY TRIANGLE HASHBROWNS!!! WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?????? All joking aside, the triangle hash browns are my favorite things. I'll eat whatever, just let me sprinkle a little Old Bay on things and I'm good..... Oh, BTW, for you Bloody Mary drinkers .... put some Old Bay in there too...... We call them Bloody Marylands --- you won't be disappointed
