Hello everyone!
 
I am currently 40 minutes from landing at Chicago Midway so I thought I would start my review of my Liberty cruise! I will break this down into sections as to not try and cram everything in one post, and I will even include my thoughts on being Galveston and sailing from there for the first time ever.
 
Overall I enjoyed Liberty very much. There are a few minor complaints that I will get to but they didn't even come close to impacting my enjoyment of the cruise. The voom issue is a very sore subject with me.... more on that later.
 
And before anyone asks, I ate at Sabor four times. That pretty much says it all, but I will include a full review of the restaurant :)
 
I will try to start up the first part of the review later this evening or tomorrow for sure. The first part will be Galveston and sailing from there.

I saw your previous and first post. From your own admission, your blaming Royal fire a mistake you made and are now upset because they are adhering to their own policies. How is this Royal's fault and how does it warrant suggesting that others not book with them?
 
My suggestion would be you call back and ask you talk to a supervisor. If that doesn't work, write a letter to the CEO. That will be much more productive and is much more likely to solve your issues.

First of all, why are you yelling at us?
 
And to translate into proper English, it should be "Royal Caribbean IS stealing my deposit" --- Not ARE...
 
And ".....someone has taken it down do not book thru this mob" ....... I believe there should be a period (or two) in there....
 
Lesson learned here, if you want to be taken seriously, using proper grammatical skills would be a good way to start....
 
Now, they are NOT a mob ...... Secondly, when you book a cruise, a confirmation email is sent to you with all the pertinent details and legal details so that you shouldn't be surprised at what's expected.

Been on Oasis twice and Allure twice. Cruised wuth quite a few people from previous cruises on them too and will be doing that again on Harmony next April.
 
By the way Matt always seems to get the blame. Well what the heck I might as well blame him for me falling in love with Sabor! ;)

First drink this time will be a Lava Flow(Since Matt keeps insisting everybody has to try one :) )Favorite first meal... no brainer, Sabor!
First stop will be a bar(big shock I know)
Favorite embarkation day activity will be sail away at the Sky Bar(yep another bar)

Everything I have heard about new ships, going to various ports, etc, always ends with the same basic requirement: it's about making money.  Essentially, the decision making process largely goes along the lines of "we can make $X if we go with this idea, or we can make $X+$Y if we go with this plan".  At the end of the day, they are a business.
 
That being said, I love the idea of a mini-Quantum class ship.

With all the talk of the new ICON class cruise ships and the recent podcast regarding icon and her size
 
Do we think they would ever make a smaller ship again?
 
My thoughts would be maybe build a ship looking exactly the same as Quantum class but smaller maybe radiance class size but with all the quantum gizmos and look.

Two weeks from today, I'll be boarding Brilliance of the Seas and I'm starting to get insanely excited about it. In the spirit of planning, wondering what everone's "favorite first" on board is?

Just passing this along to everyone, hope it helps some people out. With the new sale RCCL is offering I just called and got 125.00 off the price of my Harmony of the Seas cruise for June 2017. You guys call and see if you can save some $$$$$$. The more you save on the cruise fare the more you can spend on drinks 😉

Speaking of his podcasts ..... I still stand to this day believing that #71 is the best ever.  It really help to explain the different types of pricing promotions, what to look for, etc.  The knowledge I gained form that one podcast put me over the top in the level of confidence I have today.It's one I keep referencing to when I talk to folks that have never cruised.

I think we should all blame Matt and use him for our punching bag especially if it helps explain our actions to our significant others. ;)
 
If it weren't for one of his scopes, I wouldn't had known that all of the beverage packages were on sale. And although I had already decided NOT to purchase one, that news convinced me to scream YOLO and book it.
 
Now if I could only use YOLO to justify spending an extra $5000 for a loft suite. I'm not sure even blaming Matt would soften that blow with my wife.

You know you've been cruising for a long time when . . . you thought Voyager class was a big ship

...when you are watching YouTube videos of Empress of the Seas (which you sailed on 11 years ago), and don't recognize a single thing on the ship other than the pool.

I can certainly understand the opposition and glad I took your suggestion. Everyone likes my new choice of Ocean Grille and Beach Bar. I will definitely scope from there that Saturday evening! :)

It's good info, just because it clues us in on how the other deployments (like Oasis 4) will all fit.
 
Granted, the info J_Keeble received was from a stateroom attendant (not quite CEO-level info  :lol: ), but this thread is all about rumors!
 
IF Oasis is going to China (or anywhere outside of USA), I wonder what will replace Oasis of the Seas in Port Canaveral. Her deployment there in the first place is a big deal.

For those that missed the periscope yesterday, my objection to Bubba Gump is the same as my objection to the Landry's Restaurant chain to which it belongs. Those restaurants often have a nice ambiance or theme that draws you in. However, the food and service can be severely lacking.
 
My preference is for highly rated local restaurants where they source fresh, local, seafood and ingredients and provide good service. I have a list of my favorites in the original post in this thread.
 
I'm appreciative of the Landry's corporation for investing in Galveston and reviving the Historic Pleasure Pier area, but I've seen the Sysco institutional food truck make deliveries at Bubba Gump. Even the prestigious Landry's Seafood restaurant on the seawall serves seafood that is shipped in from other states and countries. The good local restaurants source seafood from local fishermen. That makes a big difference to me.
