  1. Yeah, one of my cruises is on the Liberty. I will have to watch for when I can book Saturday Night Fever. Thank you for your replies, you are all so helpful. I am booked on the Empress, Explorer, Liberty and Empress again so no Broadway shows for me on those cruises. Candie
  2. I have four RCCL cruises in the next 8 months. Can anyone tell me how to find out what shows are on what ships? I have looked online but I am missing it some how. You are all so brilliant I know you can tell me how! Candie
  3. I was told by RCCL the shows can't be booked until 90 days before. I could have been told wrong.
  4. Sorry a lot is misspelled wiords. Tony'w is who the message is for and Panama Canal cruises I hate spellchecker changing everything!
  5. Tony's, NCL is now cancelling all of their Mexican Riviera cruises. I was on one and it was a nightmare. I was told that they are not making money on Mexican cruises they want more exotic destinations so they are changing to Osnama Canal cruises. Now you will only have two cruise lines left.
  6. I agree with everyone here 2 rooms connecting. Hopefully this late in game you might have trouble getting 2 rooms but good luck. Keep your sanity, and not share bathrooms but close enough to keep an eye on.
  7. Hello Everyone, I am Candie and am from Irving, Texas. I am a solo/single cruiser! I try to cruise once a month, every month, benefits of being retired. I just had hip replacement surgery, 3 months ago, and doctor wouldn't let me cruise from December 2015 until May 2016. First I had to cancel 5 booked cruises, a terrible nightmare, and then had to sit at home and watch daytime television. OMG, I am glad that is over and I can start cruising again. Hopefully will get to meet you on a cruise some time. Candie
  8. WAAAYTOOO and jticarruthers and all the other posters, Thank you, Thank you. I received amazing advice from WAAAYTOOO and Jticarruthers and it was exactly right. I joined the Royal Caribbean Blog Price Tracker and tracked my four cruises on RCCL and all are raising in price but one. I called and thanks to all of you I got a $130 price drop (might not be much, but to me it is a fortune) and I got another $100 OBC. I can't thank you enough and appreciate all of your information.
  9. BugsyCruiser, I had the same problem. I am a solo cruiser and a good friend invited me to cruise with her on the same line you had problems with. I hated it, interior room, so small I could not turn around, we had to ask the steward to take tables out so we could put our luggage away. I found a cruise on this line that I loved the ports, Key West, Nassau, Freeport and one other so I called my TA and had her book it. She called me and said " I am confused, have you looked at their pricing, they have four or five plans you can choose from". She began explaining and I couldn't believe it. She booked it where I would get my deposit back. I had her call yesterday to move the cruise to another date and they told her I had booked the Early Saver. Teri said no she hadn't booked the Early Saver and all I wanted to do was move the cruise to another date, I wasn't cancelling it. The rep told Teri she would be glad to move it for a $500 deposit and $50 being kept by them because of changing the booking. First the cruise was only $1,100 dollars and they wanted a $500 deposit, are you kidding, the cruise is over a year away. Secondly, keeping $50 to change the booking, no way. So I told Teri to cancel it and they said they would keep all my deposit because I booked with Early Saver. Teri faxed all paperwork to them and they called her said their mistake but if I want to rebook still $50 charge or a full refund. I took the refund and will never book with them again. SHAME ON THEM for the deceptive practices. It sounds like they automatically say you booked with Early Saver to see if they can get away with keeping your money. I agree with the moral of your story, stay with what you know and feel comfortable with!!!
  10. I have to agree with Laurac22, if you purposely book an ADA cabin because you want a bigger cabin, than you are falsely booking a cabin that a person with a disability might not be able to get because someone who isn't disabled took it because they wanted a larger room. I am sorry the person that is not disabled should look at an Ocean View, Balcony or Suite, I understand it will cost more but they are being deceiving in booking a ADA cabin. The person that booked this ADA cabin is wrong, not the cruise line. You have to make out paperwork stating you are ADA, but these people just lie, It might be better if the cruise lines required a doctor's statement saying the passenger is ADA. That would solve the problem. I know more paperwork for the cruise line but at least ADA passengers would have a chance to get the cabin. I agree if the cruise line offers it to you near final or after, yes, then take it.
  11. WAAAYTOOO, You seem to understand the price drop questions so I was wondering if you could explain to me how it works. If there is a better place for me to post this question please let me know. What I want to know is, I book all cruises through my TA. She called me last week to tell me a cruise (Princess) had dropped $615 and they had changed the cost of my cruise that amount which meant that I had paid for the cruise. I didn't want to do that because final pay isn't for 6 more months and if I am correct any more reductions and I wouldn't get them because I am paid in full, is this correct? Next, my TA has stated that if there is a price reduction and final pay has passed you can ask for an upgraded cabin or OBC, is this correct? I have been on 30+ cruises and several times before final pay I have been given a price reduction. An example is an RCCL last fall down the Pacific Coast, dropped a total of $900 from the original booking price, does this happen often? How can I keep up with price drops on cruises? I have joined RCCL blog Insider and asked to become a patron so I can use the Price Drop Tool, will that be helpful? Any information you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks, Candie
  12. Very smart to pick the connecting room. I have had many connecting cabins and never a problem but I have been under the pool deck before and at 6:00 a.m. the crew starts with the lounger scraping, they just pull them along the deck, the chair scraping and many other noises. Woke me up several times!!
  13. I have flown into Miami and sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale and flown into Fort Lauderdale and sailed out of Miami. I use the transfer system from Royal Caribbean. I looked up how much it was the last time I did it and it was $35 each way. A cost of $70. I probably won't do it again because the flight into Miami was only $50 more than the Ft. Lauderdale flight, so with RCCL transfers from Miami International to the port it was only $20 more. Always check the prices of the flight and the transfers offered by the ship to figure out if it is worth flying into a different airport.
  14. Matt, When you look at RCCL interior staterooms and check the I have a disability many choices come up. RCCL calls a regular 169 sq. ft. cabin and a 200+ sq. ft. cabin disabled. They sell them for the same price. I had a motorized scooter and asked for an interior handicapped room and was given a category K cabin, that was 169 sq. ft. I called because it was too small for the scooter and was told the door was 32 to 36 inches wide, the scooter would fit in the cabin. When I boarded the ship I had to park the scooter in my accessible shower stall, it wouldn't fit any where else. Yes the scooter fit through the door but I had to have the coffee table and bedside tables taken out of the room so I could get the scooter into the shower stall. I think when they book the accessible rooms they sell regular sized cabins where the door has been widen and call it accessible and charge more for the room. I agree it is about supply and demand and I have been told I need to book an accessible room on the day the cruise posts online. But I disagree that a handicapped person is charged more for the same 169 sq ft. that a nondisabled passenger pays. I am not trying to argue with you but I am disabled and have been treated differently from other passengers in many ways, cost of cruise, accommodations, etc.
  15. how do I add a picture

  16. There is a link from January 2014 about the changes to the NextCruise Program. Is there any more newer information on the program. I will be sailing RCCL in a month and always buy next cruise certificates but from what I have read it almost isn't worth the trouble to buy RCCL's NextCruise. What I read is if you book an open end booking of 6-9 days you get $50 OBC and $50 deposit. Then I read another site that states you get $100 OBC and $100 deposit. Does anyone know what the correct program is and is there a link anywhere to read about it. What about a booking where I pick my cruise while onboard? What would I earn for that booking? Thank you for any information.
