  1. Back to real life.  We left our room at 6:30.  7:15 gangway was open.  Very easy as they had 4 lines open.  In Uber by 7:30, at FLL by 8am, time for food for kids and about to board our 9:25 am flight.  I know it’s not what’s recommended but we’ll take the chance to be home by 1 pm and have the afternoon to get ready for the week.   We’ve done it this way several times and so far so good.

Great blog as always!  We missed you in the pub last night.

Our countdown is 71 days and I can’t wait!

You can downgrade, you would have to remove the pax and add a room. The deal would be that one adult has to be in the room on the booking with the children under 21. But it doesn't matter who sleeps in each room.

Actually you can have the kids in their own room if it connecting, adjoining or directly across.  We’ve done all 3 as well as a 2br suite.  I find it easier to have the kids in their own room as it’s nice going into your own room and you don’t need an extra key made.  The advantage to splitting up the adults is if you don’t want to buy 2 drink packages.  This is where a travel agent would come in handy.  She can find the rooms.  If you can afford it, the 2 rooms are a blessing but will always cost more than 4 in a room.

I remember watching one of Harr travel video's and seeing a one bedrooms with door. Rremember him talking about it being a curtain door on previous ships being changed to real door on that ship and give extra privacy from those staying on the sofa. I just don't remember which ship(s).

If it comes back to you, try to come back here!  Our next couple cruises are fine but it’s fall of 2025 when I’ll have a single kid.  They grow up too fast.

  4. Thanks all.  Not really what I was hoping for.  As a large family of 6 we’ve stayed in 2 br GS, connecting jr suites, 2 adjoining ovb and even an ovb and interior directly across.  Soon we will be down to a single child living at home and we are looking at other vacations and seeing what makes the most sense and unfortunately that may not be a cruise.

  5. @Lovetocruise2002chair hogs were bad today on the main pool deck.  If you can stand the main pool deck, look for us in the 2nd row of the pink slide.  Yesterday no issue getting chairs on our way to breakfast at 9:15.  Today hubby went up there at 8 and there were about 8 chairs left.  He grabbed our 4 and yes we joined the chair hogging crew.  However, DD and I will spend a lot of time there so I don’t feel bad as I was in my chair before 10 and won’t leave until 4ish.  Super hot today!

  6. Sorry @Lovetocruise2002  Adding on to your wonderful blog with my observations!  This Aqua80 show was incredible.  We were on Oasis last year and thought it was fine but not great.  The divers seemed much more talented than last year and did much harder dives.

The water situation stinks!  Yesterday we all had taken showers before it went down.  The first time, my hubby was stuck with suds.

Did Frozen in Time have skaters in duck costumes at one point.  We thought it did and we didn’t really like the show so we skipped it.

Today’s agenda: work out, breakfast in WJ (hate it but it’s easy), sit under pink slide, at some point go to next cruise, dinner at CK, early to bed.  Tomorrow we are going to Blue Hole so need to wake up early.

We are really seeing more cost cutting measures from a year ago.

    Off to work out!

  7. @Lovetocruise2002 so I actually saw you at 150cp yesterday.  My family would have endlessly heckled me if I went up to someone and said I recognize you from a blog.  We ate there too and enjoyed our beef and the chocolate/pb tart. We sat at playmakers last night to peak at the aqua show.  DD12 always feels motion so she wasn’t surprised.  Tonight is our Aqua80 reservations so hopefully the show is on.

  8. @Lovetocruise2002 your suite looks amazing!  We are happily onboard.  Amazing how the stress level dropped once we were on board.  We have 2 jr suites this cruise and I forgot how much I like this stateroom.  Almost better than the 2 bedroom GS (which is the only other suite we’ve been in). However we all miss the perks of the suite class.  We did find the coastal lounge (thanks @WAAAYTOOO) but there was a drill so haven’t met the concierge yet.  DD 12 and I are planning to go to next cruise to book fall break.  DH doesn’t want to go as for him,  3 cruises in a year is too many for him.

We also saw One Sky.  I agree that it was fine.  Not great but entertaining enough.

We did my time dining last night.  I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the line moved to be seated and food brought out.  It has been a few years since we ate in the MDR and we thought it was pretty good for MDR food.  We have the 3 night dinner package and the other nights we’ll be in CK.

  9. @Lovetocruise2002I’m on this cruise too with DH, DS17 and DD12.  It’s been a while since I’ve been on RCBlog but I’m glad you are having a better start than us.  Our flight was cancelled after a few delays this morning.  Being spring break there was no availability on any airline to Miami or FLL, so we rented a car and driving about 15 hours to Miami.  This cruise we’ll only be in a JS and I’ll miss the suite deck around the pool.  Hoping we can get into CK for dinner a few nights.

I just got my Concierge letter for the week of 3-12 (Oasis) and it says beer, wine spirits and sodas available from 5-8 but only iced tea and coffee available during the day.  If I can find a way to copy that part of the letter I will include it below.  Big change that will see lots of howling and scratching, if true.

In other news, this email arrived much sooner than I expected it since it is 9 days until that cruise sets sail.  The Concierge emails have been arriving 5 days prior to sailing in the recent past.  My guess is that they are trying to break this [bad news] ice early.

I’m sailing in a suite on your sailing (oasis 3-12) and found my email in my spam

  11. We’ve been to Roatan twice.  I’ve been snorkeling in roatan and last year we did a sloth/snorkeling tour.  We really enjoyed both but this year probably just snorkeling.  Looking for a tour now.  We won’t do a RC one as we like a small group or even private tour.
