Matt is right about Next Cruise OBC following you to the future booking. Just did this yesterday with a cancelled Ovation sailing and transfer to new booking. Normally, you only get to transfer the Next Cruise benefit one time after purchase( I had already changed this one once) However this time, because RCI cancelled this cruise, I was able to make this change a second time. Thanks T/A, done in a few minutes.

Got the rest of the shares today to make 100. $29 was the mark I had looked at also Mook1525.

Same here, I wash my hands BEFORE going to the Windjammer like ALL should. If that bothers somebody watching me walk through the entrance to the buffet, then maybe some of the people here need to find something else to do other than cruising with 3 or 4 thousand people in very close quarters.

RCI has also whittled away at the supposed "Balcony Discount". Most of the sailings we book are longer (12 plus days) and our C&A discount is supposed to be $350. If I mock book a cruise with my C&A discount I get a figure, then book without it and get a figure only $188 more. This amount was the last one I tried, the amount varies from booking to booking. I just took for granted that when I was told I would get X dollar C&A discount, I would get it........Oh, it still shows $350 discount in the pricing breakdown, but the other figures have changed a bit. It was explained to me that my C&A discount was not able to be combined with a lot of the other figures that go into a cruise fare.....What??????

Those are the onboard booking discounts for each length cruise and cabin type given by Royal Caribbean, not your T/A. You then see what your agent will give you for the booking. A double discount......

Once you book with the TA, the only way you can get the "Booking Onboard Deal" would be to cancel and rebook while onboard your next sailing. If you book a nonrefundable with T/A, that will cost you. Even if you book a refundable with the T/A, you will have to cancel and rebook at the current rate while onboard. It works well when you book onboard(especially the longer sailings) and then transfer the booking to get your T/A OBC. You have 60 days after booking onboard to transfer to your T/A. If your current cruise(the one you are on) is through an agent, it will be on file with RCI, and usually is automatically transferred to your agent on file. My agent generally gives about 8% of the cruise fare(before taxes) as OBC. Cafe Promenade is a good place for early risers to sit and read, get some coffee. Lots of seating and well lit, port side on deck 5.

Have done MSC twice, once in a balcony cabin on Divina, and once in a yacht club cabin on Seaside. It is a bit different here and there, but overall bang for the buck is better than most. I still prefer RCI, but a lot has to do with D+ perks.

Agree with Matt, we would like to see a permanent RCI presence here in NO. History does not favor this however.

We wanted a particular cabin a couple years ago on the Jewel T/A. One member on our roll call had booked it however. This member was waffling on canceling his sailing, so we called and were put on "waitlist" for this cabin. We were told that we would be first to get this cabin if it was cancelled. This person DID cancel so we called RCI and were told it was booked. When we questioned this with a manager, we were told they had made an error and saw our waitlist hold still there and it was overlooked. Just a heads up, give it a try with a grain of salt.

You can also make phone calls while you are on line, not just emails. Enable wifi calling with your phone in airplane mode and make calls to your business as you would at home from anywhere .

Talk to your stateroom attendant, he will get it done for you. After you go with the group of consecutive cruisers to the customs procedure ashore, your things should be in your new cabin. You can access your cabin before others and get things put away if you want.

Agree with above. There are 2 sizes of carafes. A large carafe is what we order. Just write it on the order card...A LARGE CARAFE of coffee. Sometimes they send 2 small carafes. We like half and half with coffee, so we write "a small glass of Half & Half" on the card and it works well. Be specific. If that does not work, get a small carton of milk from the WJ and stick it in the ice bucket overnight, or if the fridge is working put it in there. You can even get a small milk in the evening in the WJ, just ask.

You can have room service deliver a carafe of coffee with cups, etc. any time for free. We fill out the door card and set it out in the evening for coffee service for 2 to be delivered at a certain time. You can also just call room service and ask for it , but sometimes it might take a few minutes depending on how busy they are.

Agree with Dan, deck 7 or above. We did hear some noise on 70's night, but we slept pretty well for all 7 nights. Cabin 7555.

Radiance of the Seas, 2003 in Alaska, roundtrip from Vancouver. Ship was 3 years old and we were blown away with how upscale we thought this ship was. First balcony cabin 7154.

Never had a problem, even on a Baltic sailing. Italy was always the easiest, seemed everybody understood some English. On sailings that visit multiple countries, don't make it tough on yourself trying to learn different languages.

Have to agree with twangster, I cannot see why another step is needed with an additional app. It works just like it is. Is the additional app needed for only certain type phones or certain carriers? Advise above is good though, set it up at HOME and use it. Leave it on ALL the time(mine's been on for years)), and just switch to Airplane mode when cruising. When you make a call, just log on to your ship wifi and use your phone like you were home.

Yeah, like Rated PG says, don't waste that Euro outlet. Get one of these(3 USB chargers), really work well.

Yes, regular texting works over wifi when in airplane mode. No apps needed. We just about all use iPhone, but it also works for texting to my son's Samsung.

Then how exactly is your message being sent? If over wifi, aren't you making a wifi transmission and reception? Why not just text and you don't need any app?

Orange Crush is correct, we do this on EVERY cruise. Phone is always in airplane mode onboard the ship. Only time we take the phone off airplane mode is in a US port, USVI, San Juan, where AT&T is accessible. The caveat we found was .....on an iPhone, you have to select and set up wifi calling BEFORE putting into airplane mode. We leave WIFI calling on ALL the time, home or away. We tried showing some fellow cruisers how to do this several times, problem is if they switch off airplane mode to enable wifi , phone will incur large charges out in mid Atlantic ocean. We found other carriers had wifi calling also. I don't doubt there are those carriers who don't support wifi calling.

Yes, have done Bayonne once and got a cab from hotel to port around 9:30. Little waiting around, but not much.
