  1. Got back this past Sunday on Navigator OTS in Miami, We were standing in that line at baggage claim for customs. We had gotten GE a couple months ago, but had never used it. didn't notice any GE signs at Miami terminal. We heard a voice calling for Global Entry people. We called back to this port agent, and he said follow me. He escorted us up the side of that LONG line to the front and told one of the ladies directing folks to the individual customs agents that we were GE. She pointed us to the first one and he looked at our cards and waived us through. I know it is available at Port Everglades(saw the sign), but this was a nice surprise. Also saw a sign at Galveston Port terminal, but was not manned. I hope more come on line.
  2. It's my experience that these times are a bit optimistic even without weather or other delays. This past Sunday on Navigator, the first call for self disembark was at 7:40AM(listed as 7 in as are most others we have been on). Then you have to figure getting bags and going through customs, sometimes hard to predict time lines.
  3. Don't know yet, but will let you know soon. We booked the 9 day Navigator 1/6/17 many months ago. Then we wanted to try MSC Divina, and it has a 7 day leaving on 12/30/16. Noticed that they parked nose to tail( Port of Miami webcam) usually, so we are going to give it a try next week. Get off the Divina and walk next door to the Navigator. Hope we don't have the tent deal working, but if we do, ah well. We would have to get across the roadway to the south side of the terminal island. Checked the webcam this morning again and they are still parking nose to tail. Noticed that RCI also has the Enchantment in port today, but it is at the other end of the line of ships(half mile?). Worse case, you might have to get a cab to the other ship?
  4. IIRC it was about 40 minute bus ride from Costa Maya, not too bad. Did it last year, enjoyed the trip very much.
  5. Have seen this on a few different cruises. Problem here is there are many folks(2 in my family) that are allergic to pet dander. It gets in the room carpet along with hair. Try being in an elevator with one. Have seen one lady bring her lap dog(PET) to the dining room with her. Finally one night they had enough complaints, they asked her to leave. There is NO place on a cruise ship that is a good place for a dog to lift his leg. Have seen dog crap on the deck outside the pool area on Allure T/A. That little square box with wood shavings on the back of the Promenade deck for all to admire is what they are supposed to use. Have seen a double stroller (like 2 children) with 2 poodles being paraded around on one cruise. It has gotten to the point that people just choose to bring their PETS along because RCI is hesitant to say NO. If you genuinely need a LAP dog 24 hours a day, consider not being cooped up with 3000+ people for extended periods. If you are just bringing your PET, you should be ashamed.
  6. Pretty sure there is a very limited amount of time after booking with RCI that a transfer to T/A is allowed. I want to say it was 3 days, but don't quote me.
  7. If inside final payment date, no deposit would be accepted. Payment in full would be required.(IIRC).......
  8. See this all the time with T/A invoice, don't worry. Just make sure the "out the door" final price is correct and what you expected in terms of deposit/balance/OBC, etc.......Then let the T/A play with the figures any way they want.
  9. We enjoyed cabin 7555 on the Navigator(Promenade View, 1/15). I think it helped to be 2 decks above the Promenade deck to lessen noise. We had no trouble and great trip.
  10. Agree with above, $60 for Mexican?????.......... it would have to be over the top, jaw dropping wonderful....Have some really great joints around here, we get out out for under $40 for a WOW dinner.
  11. Also remember, buying a $10 drink ends up at $11.80 with the 18% gratuity.
  12. We did it for a southbound Alaska sailing on the Island Princess (Whittier to Vancouver). First in 2004 and again in 2012. Second time we took along 3 other couples who had never been to Alaska and were chomping at the bit.
  13. You might consider flying to LA and renting a car one way. Go take in the sights you mention (plus a few more). Then turn in the rental in Galveston and board the ship. Get a transfer after the cruise to the airport. We did a variation on this in Alaska a few years back. I would figure at least 4/5 days for your driving portion. Sounds like a great trip. Don't know if Liberty has water slides(I bet it does though).
  14. I just did disembark in Boston. As stated above, it is not a "regular" cruise terminal. It will take a bit longer for the FLOW to work it's way off the ship. 9-10 should be about right. The problem is out on the street serving the terminal, very narrow and people getting off mixing with people getting on. Taxis, vans, transfers from hotels, etc......quite a line
  15. I just did 16 days from Copenhagen to Boston. It does show some wear here and there, but it is still a nice place to spend some time. Had great service in the main dining room (my time dining deck 5), some good theater shows, some not so good. We do like the Radiance class ships very much, have been on them several times. Had a great room attendant. Room service was pretty good for that early morning carafe of coffee to have on the balcony before breakfast. Food was average, sure never went hungry. Enjoyed the sea day Tuti Salad lunches.
  16. You will be fine, done this many times as other peoples cancellations and upsells occur. As posted above as long as it's the same category, we have had no problems. In fact we have changed a few times as other cabins come up.
  17. You will have to plan ahead a little by making reservations for the different shows and events around the ship. On a rainy sea day, any ship can feel crowded, Allure is the same. When people can't spread out like they want, the promenade and other such areas do get overwhelmed. We did enjoy our 12 nights on the Allure, it was fun. Having said that, we prefer the smaller(Radiance class)ships.
  18. From RCI Booking a specific cruise ------------------------- •5-7 night cruises ◦Interior/Oceanview: $50 ◦Balcony/Junior Suite: $100 ◦Grand Suite and above: $200 •8-10 night cruises ◦Interior/Oceanview: $100 ◦Balcony/Junior Suite: $150 ◦Grand Suite and above: $300 •11-14 night cruises ◦Interior/Oceanview: $150 ◦Balcony/Junior Suite: $200 ◦Grand Suite and above: $400 •15 nights or longer cruises ◦Interior/Oceanview: $200 ◦Balcony/Junior Suite: $250 ◦Grand Suite and above: $500
  19. Done the first week September sailings in Alaska (round trip and one way) 3 times and loved the cruises and the savings. It was a bunch cheaper for the balcony cabins whether on RCI or Princess and NO.....it's not cold !!!!! Don't tell anybody though...........
  20. Not sure what kind of cabin you refer to, but I have found bookings that showed "SOLD OUT" way in advance and inventory magically appears month to month leading up to and after final payment. Case in point; when we booked our upcoming Serenade cruise a year ago, only balconies available were 2 E Class on deck 7. All others sold out, we took one. The whole cruise showed "SOLD OUT" for weeks at a time. As the time went by we noticed cabins coming available(lots of them, all classes). They are on the GGG sale right now. Above post by Matt is good advise. Check back on a regular basis.
  21. Generally 90 days out for online check in and 47 days out for cruise docs/luggage tags. As stated above, luggage tags are all we ever print out of the doc file. Agree, the "Print Pass" button stays available, guess they know we change cabins a few times as others open up.
  22. Pretty sure that means closed circuit television. RCI plays what they want to play from what they receive.
  23. In our case it is for the AIR......Seldom can we get the cabin cool enough for us. The fan is great for sleeping, at home we have the ceiling fan on high overnight.
