We're going to need to see photos to verify that this even happened. TIC

RCVoyager got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Wonder of the Seas Itinerary Change
I agree, no need to complain. We're booked next month. The crown jewel of our trip is Grand Turk. Happy this storm will slip by the the North of it. Got to stay lucky another month, but yes, we are prepared for the possibility of West rather than East.

We’re expecting large swells off NE Florida coast next Thursday. This storm is BIG! I would count on rough seas in the Atlantic.

Low probability the company will offer compensation for an itinerary change due to a major storm. Mexico or not, I would be content with just being able to vacation at all during the height of hurricane season.

Aren't they concerned about how this ban will financially affect these essential workers?
Geez.

RCVoyager got a reaction from SweetPea in handicap pool lifts
It would seem like a weird thing to say, but this question brings fond memories for me. We lost a beloved brother almost 10 years ago to ALS. The last time he was on his feet was in the pool on the Carnival Magic thanks to the pool lift in the aft pool. 3 brothers together. Two helping the third take what would be his final steps across that pool with his wife taking photos from the side. The weight reduction of being in the water allowed what little use of his legs was left to put one foot in front of the other for a few steps. 13 months later, he was gone.
The memory brings a tear to my eyes this morning. Thanks for asking the question. I hope whatever your wife's condition, she is ok.

+1 on this recommendation! We used Skippy for the second time and just returned home yesterday. Fantastic experience and I don't plan to use any other service going forward.

RCVoyager got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Nyc winter cruise
This has been debated here before, and I have thought about it quite a bit. If I lived within 3 or 4 hours of NYC and could drive there (as about 30 million Americans can), I would consider a Winter cruise out of the city. However, if I have to get on a flight, as I do in Indiana, I would much prefer to fly to a warmer climate to embark.
My vacation time is precious, so spending a couple of days in cold weather on a ship is not ideal for me... and I know for my wife.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. Has anyone used Port Canaveral Quick Shuttle? Thanks.

I know this comes up from time to time. Who's got some good ideas regarding transfers to and from the port? We are booking air and hotel together to save $. Need transfers from hotel to ship and then from Cocoa Beach area back to airport. Looks like a 7:30 PM flight after the cruise, so no need to go from the ship to airport, but will spend a good part of the day post ship in the area. Or we are open for other ideas as to how to spend 4 or so hours after leaving the ship but before returning to the airport.
Thanks in advance. As always, this board, the people on it, and the advice available here is a real treasure.

Here's the deal, you were incredibly rude to good people on this board who were only trying to help you.
Just be nice. Be humble. You will get all the well meaning help of the collective group. They, myself included, are nice people.

Hold the phone. People here are only trying to help you. They only have part of the information from what you stated. A little bit of niceness goes a long way.
The people on this board have value to you because they tried to help you. I guess maybe you can take your 6 posts and go somewhere else.
Hardly knew ya. Thank God.

Dude, you get results. One word with the Manager, and boom everything changes for the good fleet wide.
Just yankin your chain. Couldn't resist.
This situation needs to be fixed and with the recent price increases RCCL should be able to do so. If not, people will jump the fence. We just booked the Carnival Mardi Gras for October.

Have you considered cruising Hawaii instead? NCL has a ship that never leaves US waters. It might be a safer choice for this vacation.

There are multiple recent threads about this (plus more resources reachable with google). Calling Royal is not a guaranteed answer for anything and this is especially true when the issue is a legal one. If you get to the port and are denied boarding, "I talked to someone who said it was OK" is not going to change the situation. In my opinion, it's not worth the cost of the trip (which may not be refunded) or the time involved (especially if vacation time is lost) to risk something like this.

On my experience that I mentioned above, I spoke to the MDR manager and the Windjammer manager about them. The change was immediate.
Food on the last few days of the cruise was hot and delicious.
I've since had another cruise on Navigator and thought the food and service were both excellent.

On my voyager sailing, the service is great. I really like the wait staff.
Food quality I noticeably lower. For some examples
1. Prime rib in mdr has always been great. On this one, it was 1/2 the normal thicness and tough
2. I had pepperoni pizza. Two slices. Between them it had 1 slice of pepperoni
3. The shrimp in mdr was overcooked. It was like eating cold cheese sticks.
4. Breakfast in Windjammer only has French toast every other day. Seems like an odd place to cut cost
5. Windjammer doesn't have a fresh cooked food station. No stir fry. No omlettes.
Taken individually, these are minor. Taken together and it does effect your experience.
