  1. We love the Chefs Table, even if my wife finds that a different wine with every course leads to her swaying all the way back to our suite!!! Would recommend 150 CP, always good.
  2. Really enjoyed this thread. I have a colleague who is a Disney fanatic and loves their cruises, personally I lived near Disney for years, watched the fireworks from my patio every night and had the Annual Pass, etc, etc. Now I'm older I would pay serious money to never cruise DISNEY, but appreciate those that love it. I'm like many others, I prefer not to pay for stuff I don't want and love RCCL, you will enjoy Oasis, it's a great ship.
  3. Our group always does My Time Dining, but we seem to get the same staff every night. I appreciate that we've already pre-paid tips but still like to say thanks on the last night with a tip especially as we've normally had multiple appetizers/main courses and desserts every night :) I agree with the front-loading idea, we always do this and get fantastic service plus HUGE pours for the rest of the cruise!!
  4. If you're going shopping with my wife in the jewelry stores of the Caribbean take LOTS plus all your credit cards!!
  5. Baked Beans is a must for a British breakfast. I believe it's mandatory under an Act of Parliament passed in 1622, but I could be making that bit up :)
  6. Fairly good curry in Windjammer, spicy but not vindaloo or phall territory
  7. Wore a nice suit and dress shirt with NO tie for formal last month on Brilliance. Perfectly acceptable as others were dressed in polo shirts and slacks and I told the wife I was glad I did not bring the Tuxedo as I would have stuck out as the only one in MDR. I have to dress up for work so don't feel the need when I'm on vacation.
  8. The ladies in our group were uploading photos to FB all day and had no problems, we could all text each other and use our iphones as normal. However, as others have pointed out, coverage can often depend more on location than the ship's system. Fairly sure that your Cruise Compass will warn you on days when satellite coverage will be patchy.
  9. We were on Brilliance last week and had no problems with the iphones. Facetime and email were not noticeably slower, although my laptop seemed slow when I tried to do some work. Easy solution: turn off laptop and have a drink :)
  10. Thanks for the heads up, sailing Brilliance of the Seas on March 20, just saved $51 on this package!!!
  11. Up-selling and drinks are major revenue drivers for all cruise lines. My business recently brought me into contact with a major cruise line (not Royal) and the internal figures for bar sales, particularly pool areas, show that this is a huge profit center. I agree with Michael above that I get to cruise at a reasonable rate and then chose how to distribute my $$$.
  12. Newbie here, so apologies if this has been asked before. Really enjoyed reading the pros and cons of purchasing the drinks package. I heard a rumor that you could bring two bottle of wine onboard for consumption in your cabin. Can anyone confirm??
