I am also on this cruise with my husband! We are arriving at Marco Polo Airport on June 2nd and want to go straight to Ravenna and stay there for 2 nights. We also are going to attempt getting there by train. Does anyone know if you should buy train tickets in advance or just hope. My concern is plane is suppose to arrive at 11am but who knows these days. Would hate to have bought a train ticket for a certain time and then miss it. Also how do get from airport to train station, any suggestions?

My husband and I are going on explorer of the seas on June 4 out of ravenna. We are arriving in Venice on June 2nd at 11am. We would like to take the train from Venice to Ravenna as we are staying in Ravenna until the cruise leaves. Has anyone done this? Are they any tips on how to get about from the airport to the train station? Do we need to purchase tickets for the train before we get to Italy? This portion of the trip is causing me stress trying to figure out how to get from Marco Polo airport to Ravenna ahead of time. Any help would be appreciated.
