  1. Check out the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas which might be perfect for you. Anywhere in DT Fort Lauderdale is basically 15 min or less to the port. I am local so please let me know if you have any other questions regarding dining suggestions exc.
  2. The fact that they would take any considerations whatsoever is hard to believe. I would expect this at a dive bar in Guadalajara but certainly not standard operating procedure from a large corporation with massive ramifications. You can’t exactly charge premium money for a beverage package and get away with watered down drinks and “special bottles under the counter”.
  3. So a multi billion dollar corporation is watering customers drinks down as part of a standard operating procedure? This is quite a stretch to think that RC would waste their time on nonsense like this. Come on! Is this necessary when you charge $9 for a beer and $15 for a mixed drink?????
  4. The points don’t go away, they accrue until the next annual review.
  5. It’s actually the best diamond lounge currently in existence. 2 stories overlooking aft of ship.
  6. Something seems off with this calculation. You are going to get far more then 10 points in an hour at $10/hand.
  7. Possibly….. It can also happen pretty quick with a massive win.
  8. Royal Up is great until the moment that they make a mistake and you are forced to contact customer support. The only way to resolve a RoyalUp issue is to send an email to the vendor which is located on the RoyalUp page. If you make the mistake of calling RC thinking they can resolve a RoyalUp issue then you have just successfully wasted time from your valuable life. RoyalUp is an RC vendor and handles their own customer service (not very well either). If you have a travel agent then they can use their secret phone numbers to resolve royal up issues as well (preferred method).
  9. Yep, it’s important to note you would actually have to enjoy gambling to be happy with the amount of time and money spent to get free drinks.
  10. Cycle through, yes. Not 12,500 out of pocket.
  11. Prime Level is 2500 points minimum. I can’t really say for sure what it costs because on the machines you can extend a win streak for a long time with some decent wins and thus add points. Let’s say you put $1000 in the machine (and get really lucky) and cycle through wins and losses for 4-6 hours it’s highly likely you will get that 2500 points and Prime. The key is obviously winning and winning for a long time. As far as the tables go and the point calculations, that’s a whole other mess. If I had to peg a number for the machines I would say you would cycle through $5000-$7500 in a night.
  12. Deck 17 & the royal suite class! I also really enjoy Park Cafe & the boardwalk dog house.
  13. It still works out pretty well considering sea days when the casino is open. It’s certainly a worthy benefit.
  14. Correct. You can always order a drink and leave though.
  15. You should gamble some money in the casino and get to Prime status because if you want free drinks then this is your golden ticket. Forget Diamond status and the 4 free drinks, Prime is drinks on the house ALL NIGHT LONG.
  16. All 3 will be honored. I have won multiple times and we are a party of 4.
  17. It looks like they do offer a free shuttle to the port but not the airport. I would still opt for ride share so you can be in better control of the time you wish to arrive for your cruise.
  18. Good news is you are directly across the street from the North Port Everglades entry point. Ride share would be the best option IMHO.
  19. Which hotel? Personally I would opt for a ride share but 99% of East Fort Lauderdale hotels offer shuttle service to the port.
  20. Dont let hurricane season get in the way of your families cruise planning. I have lived in South Florida my entire life and hurricane season has never once been an issue with cruising. Obviously things could one day be different and a storm could interfere with cruising plans but I’ve been sailing since the 1980’s…..
  21. I have no idea what a SNAP card is, however, I’m really not surprised in the least bit as I e witnessed verbal altercations many times at the check in counter (seems to be a hot bed of activity).
  22. It’s not really a matter of wanting to be closed. The cruise line is required to formalize an agreement with the islands government to pay them a certain percentage of the casino revenue while ported & open so that they do not cannibalize the land based casinos revenue. Aruba happens to have casinos.
  23. “It’s a perfect daaaaaay at Coco Caaaaaaay”
  24. Adding to the conspiracy, it’s possible @Matt is an undercover agent for Royal Caribbean planting information on his blog to manipulate the cruising industrial complex……
