In researching options for transportation from my hotel to Port Canaveral on embarkation day, it appears that a shuttle is the preferred choice for most people. I am staying at Homewood Suites close to the port. They offer a reasonably priced shuttle. Cost aside, is there a reason not use Uber or Lyft? Is it difficult to get one there on embarkation day?

I am by no means a seasoned cruiser. On my first visit to Costa Maya in March, we went to Maya Chan. The meeting point outside the cruise port was incredibly easy to find. The service was phenomenal. It really was the tropical paradise you imagine a vacation being. Transportation there and back was taken care of as part of the reservation. We got back in plenty of time for all aboard. I researched extensively before booking (like you, afraid to not get back to ship in time), and I could not fine one bad review of this place or issues getting back in time. We used Bodden Tours and customized our own tour in Roatan (held some sloths and ate some chocolate and I'd do it again for sure). We booked through the ship in Cozumel and did the cooking thing with the beach time and open bar after. The cooking part of that was nice, but the resort was just okay. It was very busy. The pina coladas were meh.

We used Bodden Tours in March. They can customize a tour for you. It was very easy to find their kiosk.

We went to Maya Chan this past March. It was wonderful and would recommend them if they're open during your cruise. We did a private tour with Bodden Tours in Roatan. I would recommend them as well. Your driver will customize the tour based on what you want to do.

We had one room for four people, then added another room. The two of us in the original room still had our excursions. The two people who moved to the second room had their excursions cancelled and refunded. I couldn't rebook them, either, because they were sold out.

Hello, everyone! My family of four will need transportation to the cruise port from our downtown Miami hotel in a couple of weeks. Would you recommend Uber or a shuttle through RC?

For those checking in at midnight on the day check in opens, do time zones matter? I'd rather not stay up late to get an early time slot if it it's midnight Pacific time (I'd just get up early instead).
