  1. I prefer Constant Comment for my tea selection. Do they offer a good selection in the Dining Room or should I just bring my own?
  2. Never understood the attraction to Red Velvet Cake.
  3. Please choose your CC preference on line....since it only holds up everyone when checking in at the pier.
  4. We are cruising Rhapsody of the Seas, December 22, 2018. I thought that I should probably make my reservations for Chops and Giovanni's. Went to the Cruise Planner and proceeded to find that All of the Speciality Dining Dec, 24-25 are booked solid and there are NO spots open. I did get to book Giovanni for Wednesday, 26th and Chops for Friday, 28th. Maybe we might have a cancellation but it doesn't look too promising at this point. If you haven't made your reservations yet...better hit it soon and hope you can find open spots for reservations.
  5. Take your luggage to your reserved hotel and they will gladly hold your luggage. They always have for us in the Condado.
  6. Sounds like too much trouble to me...vbg....I'll meet you at the pool, casino, buffet, spa, running track, putt putt, MDR, Library, Atrium Bar, etc. I know we can find something else to do.
  7. According to the internet....UltraMar Playa del Carmen is the ferry pier and it is marked permanently closed. Do they still have a ferry between Cozumel and the mainland still in operation. We have always stopped in Cozumel but never ventured further than the island. It is time to do something and see something different.
  8. Am I missing the correct location to download the RCCL app? The one that I did find only works for a few ships in the fleet!
  9. From their website.... http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/experiencetypes/category.do?pagename=onboard_cat_dining_options kids ages 6-12 now dine at our specialty restaurants for only $10. Ages 5 and under eat free! Plus, little cruisers get their very own menu — a round-up of kid-friendly favorites from the “grownups” menu.
  10. We sailed FOS on January 2017. I had booked our three night package MANY months before and had prepaid everything. A month before our sailing date, I noticed a credit on my MC card for the exact amount of the dining package. Going back to my reservations...I see I didn't have a three dining package any longer. I called RCCL directly and spoke to a customer service agent...and they explained they didn't know what happened. BUT, they would be very happy to reinstate our reservation if I would give them my CC number again. Since I already had a credit on my CC statement, I gave them my number again. GUESS WHAT???? Now the price suddenly increased by ten bucks......I didn't care for their methods...but I still enjoyed some great dining.
  11. It appears that you already KNOW what to eat and what not to eat. As dining should be, moderation in everything. You don't need to order extra appetizers, two entreés just because they are available at no charge in the MDR. RCL offers sugar free desserts and they are plainly labeled on the menus and at the buffets. If you feel you have over indulged, they head upstairs to the walking track and hit it for fifteen twenty laps. Bon Voyage and Bon Appétit!!
  12. Yep....stealing is stealing no matter what form it takes. Aren't you required to buy ONE drink at a time with a mandatory waiting period between orders? If your cabin mate happens to be a lush...I don't want to participate....vbg. Everyone should go ala carté.
  13. We purchased a three night dining package and chose our nights and restaurant selection.
  14. Going to the MDR for me has always been my first choice. As a matter of fact, I would never consider going to the buffet for dinner and NEVER have. I want to be seated, wait staff assisting, white linen, the whole experience. During my eight cruises, I have seen many items "disappear" but that will not make me change my preferences. I can't comment on bringing some food from the buffet to the MDR, since I don't know what they are offering different. I do eat in the buffet for breakfast but it still is a "Bob's Hog Trough" experience. I cruise to be pampered, not to experience what is typically available when going out am home.
  15. Speak with an RCL representative directly. They make things happen.
  16. We felt the same. The ambiance left us cold when we walked in. They could have removed the Sabor signage and opened a "continental" restaurant without a blink of the eye. The food was pedestrian at best. Being an upcharge restaurant, I was expecting to see WOW. There was no wow.
  17. If you are seated after sundown, you might as well be seated next to a black wall....you can't see anything!
  18. If you were a repeating dining patron at a local restaurant in your home town and refused to tip.....I can guarantee the quality of service would diminish.
  19. Is it legal.....I would read your cruise contract and I am sure they have covered themselves....they HAVE seen everything. Would I pay the difference..yes...since hiring a lawyer probably far outweighs the price of the increase. That would take years to settle.
  20. I would choose Chops hands down. ....but only for supper. Dress nice and be prepared to be wowed. They served the PERFECT Filet Mignon.
  21. Soft Serve Ice Cream is free on the pool deck. I don't like those sugar cones they offer so I always go to the buffet.....get free cookies, put them in a bowl and then top with the soft serve vanilla. Good treat!
  22. Let's start with what you WILL pay for.....Chops Steakhouse, Sabor Mexican, Giovanni's Italian, Starbucks Coffee, Rocket's Burgers. Most everything else is complimentary.
  23. On our last visit to Charleston for the Carnival cruise, word had it that Charleston doesn't want ANY cruise lines in their harbor. I guess they don't want tourist business soiling their city.
  24. Don't forgot to take your individual packs of Crystal Lite....many flavors to choose from and they are sugar free. Very small and I always take a couple of boxes in my luggage. My newfound favorite flavor is Dragon Fruit!
