  1. Hi @Neesa, I’m eyeing brilliance 1054 as an option for family sailing (multi generations) and the two baths and extra living space seem like they would work well. Do you (or anyone else from the boards) have feedback on the elevator noise situation? That’s the only concerning part to me, but maybe earplugs at night are worth it? I appreciate any insights you remember.
  2. @ScottishRobbie I’ll be on Ovation to Alaska in a couple of months and considering this as an add on for my mom. She is in her 80s but mobile, occasionally may want her portable walker for long treks to dining or entertainment (which I can keep in our cabin). We haven’t been on a Quantum class so flying a bit blind but we are on the 9th floor in this same area so pretty easy to be close for what she needs. Any thoughts on that room for this scenario? I appreciate your sharing your perspective!
  3. Wow thanks! Just saw your reply now, much appreciated!! Can’t wait to read through this. We are “hearty Minnesotans” (ha) and were on the Radiance in Vancouver for her repositioning in Oct, unseasonably warm this year but still quite cold on the open water for a whale watching trip we did before the cruise. So I agree, pack for anything. Thanks again @Peter D!
  4. Thank you! My first cruise was on Rhapsody many years ago so I can’t quite recall it but was on Radiance last year. I definitely see the appeal of the smaller sized ships for her. Will check into options in both classes.
  5. @Linda R or others, can you share what type of room and class of ship you were on? I'm considering multigenerational cruise with my mother who's mobility has started to decline (no wheelchairs at this point but she uses a walker for extra support for most things and likes having one near her at night). I think it would be great to be in a suite class for the extra amenities but it looks like accessible suites are in the corners of the ships vs. toward the elevators (at least on the ones I've looked at). While I think she would love the broadway shows and other entertainment on board Oasis-class I'm not sure if one of the smaller class of ships would ultimately be less tiring on her. Any thoughts based on your experiences? She has cruised once and enjoyed it but it was 6 years ago and her health has changed since she's now in her late 80s.
  6. Regarding travel insurance, I’m considering booking a family cruise with age ranges in 20s, 50-60s, and 80s. Can I get different policies for each of us (basic for daughter, moderate for us and high for elderly parents) even if it’s all one trip/booking? Reading this thread reminded me of the differences in what we all may need and I want to have (some) peace of mind. Thanks!
  7. Hi @Peter DPeter, did you plan your extra time in Seward on your own or was it part of a Rccl land and sea package? We are trying to plan a trip just like this but I haven’t found a package that stays in Seward so wasn’t sure how to go about it. How was May weather and fishing? Thanks for any info!
  8. Hi all! First time on Oasis class and in a Crown Loft Suite so I'm also trying to learn how suite perks work. Thanks for this thread! My question is about 'extras'. I see in the Cruise Planner that excursions and dining packages are visible, but I've also read that "the concierge will reach out to you and assist with bookings and tickets". Do they hold a certain amount or do I need to book early online to make sure they don't sell out? How about the broadway and aqua theatre shows? I definitely want to be able to see all of the things on the Harmony that I haven't experienced on the other classes. 8 weeks until we sail. Thanks for any tips!
