  1. Don't just check October. We are on Panama this September. It's CA to NOLA. Not Florida. Also, we booked it for this year when on our cruise April 2023. It came out the last day of our cruise. So, it might show up later than others.
  2. It will download when you open the link. You just need to know where your phone stores the file. It will download with the same name everyday, so if it's a new day, tell it yes to download. You'll end up with cruisecompass [x]. They stay on the phone too, so you can refer to them once you are home if you want.
  3. This may be a random question. We have a sailing booked for September 2024. We are booked for 4 people. One is elderly. What if she passes before the cruise? Will we still be able to go in the same room as a 3 instead of 4? I'm not asking about money back, I know that's what insurance is for. I'm curious if Royal would cancel us or charge us more if there's only 3 instead of 4. I noticed when I do a mock booking that 3 guests gives me limited rooms and 4 guests gives me more room options.
  4. I actually love not having the paper compass. As someone who brought them home from every previous cruise, I was surprised! The app was nice to mark things and then get the notifications about 30 min and also just before something was starting. I didn't have to set an alarm or watch the clock to make sure I didn't miss it. The app notified me. I downloaded the pdf and was able to look through and mark things with a simple screenshot and highlighter. Personally, I find the cruise compass events so mashed together that it's hard to read. We had a few things switch venues on our cruise. The app was updated, the paper compass wasn't, so there was a sign left at the original venue. I didn't mind the empty time slots in the My calendar part of the app, because it made it easy to see we had a slot of time free for family board games, or a nap, or other non cruise planner events. I didn't mind having my phone with me because I take a lot of photos. I took my camera, but I still used my phone for most of the on board photos. As a large group, we used the app to stay in communication (no wifi package). It never timed out on me for messages, so either they changed that or the employee was mistaken. It was also nice for our group because we could sit at dinner and talk about what we wanted to do later/next day without everyone having paper and highlighters at the table. Everyone could mark their own things, and not have to share the paper compass. The experience is different without the paper compass but I liked not having to worry about carrying it everywhere so I could remember what we wanted to do. I also liked that the reservations we had showed up in the My calendar so it was easy to remember which night we scheduled Aqua Theater. I do wish the app let you add your own thing, so we could have added in the ice skating time we signed up for. I hated having to clock watch so we didn't miss that!
  5. When you get the extra key, check to see if the originals work. Our group got an extra key for 2 different rooms for parental access on Oasis. Both times, the original keys ended up broken and we had to wait for guest services again. They ended up reprinting the cards completely. I don't know if that's normal Royal Caribbean or just this particular ship/sailing.
  6. Yes. On Port days they had water bottle stations set up near the gangway and would give me 2 bottles with the Refreshment Package. On Oasis, there were also free water stations where you could get a glass of water: near the pool, at windjammer, park cafe, and solarium. You could use the cup to fill your own water bottle if you want. Just don't fill your bottle directly please.
  7. For Oasis, the mini-golf, Social 298 (Teen Room), table tennis, Taco Bar, Freestyle Machine, the Sports Court are all right together with the Flowrider and Zipline up half a deck. You may need to define "stick together" if you aren't comfortable with them being 100 feet apart, but in eye distance. We would have a teen doing mini golf, and another across at the sports court and we were comfortable with that. Same with one going to get tacos, while the other stayed in the Social 298 Club. It looks like Wonder is set up similarly. Our group had a bunch of teens (ages 13-18). We didn't set a spend limit for our teen, just told him not to spend on his card without asking us first. He didn't (He did have the refreshment package, so drinks weren't an issue). Our group's teens varied with obedience to that rule, and I will agree with the above poster - the ones that didn't follow the parent spend requests were also the ones that had to be parent accompanied by the end of the trip. The 22 year old was put on a cash account by his parents so he wouldn't spend more than he was allowed. And it worked. When he was out of money, that was it. He couldn't spend. The Royal phone app worked well enough for us to keep an eye on the teens while also giving them some freedom. The app is free, just have to be 13 or older to sign up and use. We had pretty good luck with the notifications (Android, all permissions on and pause activity turned off). The teens checked it regularly, and responded to notifications, and let us know where they were when we asked. Also, just wandering around the ship, we would often run into the teens. Side Note: I don't know if this is common, but by the end of the week, the elevator day change employee had teen groupies waiting for him to change the signs. You may have your teens asking to stay for the elevator person, and it's not code for anything else.
  8. That's interesting. We just got off Oasis, and it was the 15-17 year olds that were in the teen room and activities the most. Our 13 year olds were barely in there because the older kids took it over.
  9. I was thinking of tucking the cord into the CPAP machine, and the hub into carry-on. Out of curiosity, if they confiscate and say you can't take it, can you take it back to your car at the port? Or is it thrown away? What happens to confiscated cords?
  10. Well, that's annoying. Thanks for the answer!
  11. I thought it hadn't opened for mine either (Oasis) but someone posted it worked for them on the website, not the app. I went to the website, and here was my experience: I couldn't see it in the cruise planner when I was logged in. I had to log out, then check the entertainment link, then click reserve, and login to check out. If I was logged in, it was a blank screen where the shows should be. I was able to book Frozen in Time and Aqua 80 by logging out, reserve, then login.
  12. I'm not seeing it in the app. I also didn't see it in the cruise planner when I was logged in. I had to log out, then check the entertainment link, then click reserve, and login to check out. If I was logged in, it was a blank screen where the shows should be.
  13. Anyone have a picture or size dimensions of the cup? Or is it in the website somewhere? I'm thinking of making something to go on it for our cruise. We have a bunch of kids with cups in our group and that would help.
  14. Caveat: I haven't been on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. But, what I've read here in the forums and on Royal Caribbean's website is that there is still standby available. A lot of people will make reservations and not show up. Plus, I read, that some of the tickets are reserved for when you are on the ship to request? So, try when you get on the ship in the app.
  15. Oh, me too! I figured they would make her parents wait, but that seemed silly too. Although, with this 5 year old? It might be nice to leave her with the check in desk for 30 minutes.
  16. Our family group is 17 people, 6 rooms. Our reservations are linked, but we are not booked as a group. When we got our boarding times, we all have 10:30am-11:00am except for the 5 year old in the room with her parents. Her parents have the 10:30am -11:00am. She has 11:00-11:30am. Will they let her through early? Or will that couple be forced to wait for the 5 year old's 11am time? It seems odd that the system gives 1 person in a room a different boarding time, but I get, computers arent people. Port Miami if it makes a difference.
