  1. Seeing these itineraries and the deluded pricing attached to them is like seeing a boyfriend you've been thinking about breaking up with and he turns up with a man bun...yeaaaaah naaaaaah
  2. Maybe they meant "the port under the bridge", which it kind of is next to, and from certain angles can look like it's under Also, how sad for passengers excited to cruise to Sydney and they'll be dumped in....Port Kembla
  3. I LOVED Spectrum out of Singapore! The 2 main things I want on a cruise are the outdoor pool in full sun, and the specialty restaurants. On my cruise of majority Asian passengers, it seems what they wanted was indoor solarium and buffet/MDR...so I could always get a primo seat by the pool, and could get a seat at any restaurant with no booking - it was awesome! What I didn't like was the reconfiguration of large sections of the ship which have been blocked off for suite or VIP guests.
  4. Thanks! I just saw on the check in page they want a negative RAT test, do you know if this info is still current? Do i just take a picture of it, or bring the stick with me? I sailed on Royal out of Singapore in January and this wasn't required, so I'm not really sure what I need to do
  5. I'll be on Quantum out of Brisbane 4 April, 8 night South Pacific. Port Vila was cancelled so we'll be going Mystery Island >Noumea >(back to) Mystery Island The shore excursions seem...lacklustre. Any recommendations what to do on Mystery?
  6. Big updates this week: check-in is now available, as are Phuket excursions. Cupcake class was added a few weeks ago.
  7. That's great I looked up my South Pacific cruise and black friday sale has it $900 MORE than what i paid edit...and i just checked again, now it's $1100 more...lol
  8. Spectrum out of Singapore in Jan 2023 is stopping overnight in both Penang, Malaysia and Phuket, Thailand. I've never had an overnight, I'm so excited!
  9. Can i say, reading your posts over the last couple of days, you're my travel hero, you're who i want to channel when faced with travel difficulties
  10. That was my first thought, too, immediately followed with the thought of being considered super creepy when approaching people begging them I take my toys.
  11. Thanks for all the info, which makes me very happy! I'm sailing out of Singapore on 2 Jan and all I want is time in the sun by the pool, and quiet time in the solarium and spa. I've also purchased UDP for the first time and had no intention of going into Windjammer. Based on this post, my perfect cruise is going to be....perfect!
  12. I want Pinky but don't know any children to give the others to
  13. You're definitely handling everything A LOT better than I would have
  14. I've been on 2 cruises and only ate in MDR on 1 night. For me, early seating is too early and late seating is too late. I like to decide each day where and when to eat, and travelling solo I can pretty much get a seat anywhere, I think because they know solo seatings are a quick in and out.
  15. wow, I love this, I didn't know it was a thing
  16. Sip Tour Brunch, and Sushi Making Class have been added. I've done sushi class on a previous sailing but enjoyed it so much I'm going to do it again!
  17. 7 night Western Caribbean on Icon, solo in an ocean balcony $8,400. Maybe I'll wait till 2026
  18. Please, not in such close quarters. Will your vacation really be horrible if you respect the other passengers?
  19. I'm going in April Jan 2023, 7 nights Penang and Phuket. Are your Phuket excursions from RCI available yet?
  20. Every person in my life just says "floating petri dish" (an ignorant term I despise) when I mention a cruise. Coupled with the Ruby Princess class action starting this week, it's not a good time around here for the cruising industry. Aussies who've never been on a cruise assume 1 of 2 things: it's full of old people, or it's full of drunken brawls. It doesn't help that short cruises have nowhere to go because everything is too far. I'm flying to Singapore in January just to get on a cruise with an interesting itinerary. I have no interest in other cruiselines and only look at Royal itineraries, but I do wish they would target their offering to the Australian audience - I don't know how because I'm not a marketer, but surely they'd know what works out of Maimi won't necessarily work out of Sydney. Their AU and US sites are NO different, and I suspect their constant "sales" emails, offering either no price reduction or, more often than not, higher prices than when you last looked, will eventually catch the eye of ACCC.
  21. Kia ora. I love New Zealanders... I'm Aussie so I'm kind of obligated to, but i do anyway I too have been to Thailand but i do like a prearranged half day tour, it makes me feel like I've accomplished something, i like having a half plan for the day. Haven't been to Malaysia but i can't wait to eat everything they have to offer. The Malaysian food in Sydney is some next level awesome
  22. That was also my experience so I've never attempted it again. I'm always weary that people think solo=single=pineapple, and i just can't be bothered with all that
