Don't blame RC. The spas are run by a different company.

I like the WJ because I am a cruiser with food. I like a little bit here and a little bit there. Plus, no waiting. Just grab a plate and go.

Ditto to what @FloatyBoatysaid. She just beat me to the answer. That is what my sister did and it does work.

Since NH is getting our first measurable snow fall (more like slush fall), here is a cartoon for your enjoyment.

How often can you fill the freestyle cup
FireFishII replied to bjlove's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
I know I can find diet coke in Europe. But their diet coke taste nothing like our diet coke. I usually just drink tea when I am in Europe. It is hard to mess up tea. -
MDR - Do kids have to wear nice shoes? Or are sneakers OK?
FireFishII replied to mindvaca's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
Just as long as you are not trying to enter the MDR barefoot, I don't think it matters. -
How often can you fill the freestyle cup
FireFishII replied to bjlove's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
50 minutes or several hours!! I would have been a nervous wreck!! I have a diet coke addiction! But only between the hours of 11 and 3. After 3, if I drink caffine, I won't be able to sleep. Speaking of Diet Coke: Here is a question: If I am on a Mediterranean cruise, will I get that crappy diet coke stuff that is usually sold in Africa and European cities? -
I had only paid attention to the dress-your-best nights. I never participated in the white/caribbean/timewarp nights. My best is usual business casual except for 1 formal/dress-your-best night. For that night I am usually in a very nice cocktail dress with my husband in a suit - for pictures.

I had the similar issue but only on my first massage. If I get a second or a third (yes, I love massages), I usually don't get the same hard sell pitch.

Cruise planner deductions/savings
FireFishII replied to mike2608's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
WARNING: Sometimes you will see a bigger discount but you may not be aware that RC had just raised their prices. So the new price could be the same or higher than what you originally booked the service at. Your discounts look decent. The only bigger discount I found was when the soda package was combined with the WiFi packakge. So, keep watching the prices, not the discount. Don't forget that most of the prices do not include the gratitudes or taxes on the displayed price. Those are added right before you add your CC number for purchase. -
Try up in the windjammer. Ask a staff member.

Spa Question For the Ladies (and I suppose dudes...LOL)
FireFishII replied to Mike T's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Any pedicure I have ever received has always included a paint job (aka painted nails). So, yes, nail polish is included. They may charge you extra for shellac or other upscale polish. -
Can you choose your room/area of the ship?
FireFishII replied to foulmouthedleon's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The colors indicate the class of a room. For example, the light blue and deep purple colors indicate Ocean View Balcony on Allure of the Sea. When you go to the Royal Caribbean website, search for a ship, and look at their floor plan, you will see the color key to the right of the floor plan. (https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/allure-of-the-seas/deck-plans/2140/10). I copied the color key from that webpage: Ocean View Balcony- 10 replies

Yes, itineraries are important when picking out a cruise but you got to remember that the ship can always cancel or swap a port at the last minute (which did happen to one of my cruises at 4 days out). But don't forget the most important part of cruising: relaxing and getting away for it all. So, take the only option left and start planning on having a marvelous time! Enjoy.
-
Warning: Spa prices are much higher onboard a ship then they are on land. That does not stop me from booking a massage but I do get my manicure and pedicure on land. Enjoy the spa!

And don't forget that most airlines require you to check in your luggage 1 hour prior to your flight. I missed a flight because I got to the airport only 50 minutes prior to the flight and they would not take my luggage. Darn Minnasota airport!!

Yes, 8 weeks from when they received it. HOWEVER, you are in the middle of 2 major holidays and lots of minor holidays. It may (or most likely) take you longer to receive your passports. That is why I recommend stating on the check-in forms which the documents you have in hand.
-
You can track your passport status by going here: https://passportstatus.state.gov/ I just got mine renewed. I received my new passport at the 8 week mark. My advice on which document to choose: Go with what you have (birth certification/drivers license). Then bring your passport along with your other documentation just in case.

Being in New England, I have experience my phone shutting down when it gets too cold. So, I usually keep my phone inside my jacket when I know I need to use it soon.

High end credit card vs. Travel insurance
FireFishII replied to BB1's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I think you need to compare what the 2 insurances cover. Call your credit card company for their insurance coverage policy. -
Royal up will review once onboard?
FireFishII replied to Templecruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Gee, with all these emails, do you think Royal is trying to get a bidding war started. LOL !! Good luck to anyone who choice to go that route. It can't hurt to try and dream. -
Royal up will review once onboard?
FireFishII replied to Templecruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I think the only reasons you could be upgraded once you are on board is because someone had to cancel due to contracting COVID or they missed the boat. Lots of folks would go ahead and cancel their bid at that time because they don't want to be inconvenient by moving to a different room after setting in. But others rather keep the dream of Royal Up going. So, keep your faith but don't hold your breath for an upgrade. Best of luck!
