Just sailed on Allure in November. You will love this ship and the new terminal is the best terminal I've left from.

Check out this webcam. It rotates to the new terminal.

sorry to hear that you encountered so many challenges. wasn't my experience a month ago and i hope they fix it.
Not my experience either. I sailed on Allure on the first cruise out of the new terminal. It was smooth with no lines. I think some of the problems might be everyone showing up at once and not at their boarding time picked out. We walked right in, was greeted and checked in, then directed to the suite entrance where they served coffee and pastries. I have sailed our of Florida and this was much smoother and faster.

Can anyone that is currently on the November 9th sailing of the Allure confirm if Starlink is up and running? If so, your thoughts on the speed?

I would check again, they all just raised their prices ~$20 to follow Galveston Wharves price increase. Gotta pay for that Terminal 10 infrastructure build somehow.
Yep, you are right. Still not a bad price compared to some of the terminal parking. I booked my spot at EZ back in March and it was under $100.

North Covered lot is next to the terminal as you would expect. You can walk across the entrance street to the terminal. Figured they would place the coveted premier parking next to the terminal. Money buys you so much. Since I don't mind catching a shuttle we chose the indoor parking only a couple of streets away and they drop us off at the terminal entrance for less money.
I've parked several times at the EZ Parking. Very secure and they shuttle right to the terminal. Right at $100 for a 7 day cruise.

I wonder if its reasonable to expect an Oasis class and an Icon class ship in Galveston in the future due to thier LNG capabilty. Plus there are only so many berths in Miami, and with the rate of new ships coming from all cruise lines (not to mention MSC's agressive push into the NA market) they need to find home ports for them all.
The new terminal in Galveston, pier 10, is being builit to handle the Oasis and Icon class and future larger ships. They will have the LNG capacity. For now, the Allure and Harmony will be sailing out of her.

That's what I thought also, but in my edocs that I received for this cruise, it said smoking was on the starboard side. I sailed on Odyssey last year and it was on the port side also. I guess it really doesn't matter, just inquiring minds wanted to know.
It would not be the first time RC got something wrong in the Edoc's. When they first released it, it was listing the pier wrong showing the old pier and not the new port 10 pier. They did correct it shortly after that.

As someone who smokes cigars I have smoked on most the ships and I believe that it is on the Left or Port side on almost all of the ships.

I will be sailing on Allure and have heard conflicting reports on where smoking is allowed on the pool deck. Some say starboard and some say it's port side. Can someone who is in the know clear this up for me? FYI I'm a non smoker but I do vape. I follow the rules and respect the non smoker sections.

Sailing on Allure in November and would like to see a selection of wines. Is there a link to one or does someone have a copy of a wine list?

That’s surprising and may be a case of the documentation not being updated. I would be prepared to see where the ship docks that morning by using the Marine Traffic app.
I confirmed that the doc's have not been updated. I'm sailing on Allure on November 13th and they will be sailing out of the new terminal. My doc's also show terminal 2.

Brick and mortars get robbed, they have employees who skim, they have trouble balancing a drawer, they need to manage any cash receipts for security at night etc.
As a bearer instrument, cash on hand can open many risks that are avoided by not accepting it.
There are still a lot of people out there that don't have a credit card, for one reason or another. Some can't get credit at all. A lot of the old timers have never had a card and always paid with cash. I understand your logic and someday we may be a cashless society but we are not there yet.

Never ran into such a problem, but I've also never tried. A foreign server, having never seen a two dollar bill, and certainly having no knowledge of one... His naivete cost him a tip. I would not have pushed the issue so far as to deny him a tip. But that's just me.
At the time at the pool, I only had a few $2 bills on me. The main reason I was using them is it's much easier to carry the $2 bills to carrying a bunch of singles. I certainly did not do it to be showing off or a ego boost or to stand out. This thread has made me aware of the trouble the crew has in exchanging them. I will be bringing singles from now on.

On my last sailing on Odyssey while I was sitting around the pool I ordered a drink and when the server brought it, I gave him a $2 bill as a tip. He looked at it and told me it was "funny money" and gave it back to me. I tried to tell him it was real but he insisted it was not. Anyway, it was no tip for him. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

The first time we were on Rhapsody it was run down (2017), but the friendliness of the crew made up for that. Noticed some rude guests.
I sailed on Rhapsody first in 2006 and again in 2007 then again in 2012. While the ship is one of the older and smaller ships, it was well maintained and I agree the staff was some of the best I've seen. My only issue was we were staying in a aft cabin and there was a bad vibration coming from the propellers. It wasn't bad, just annoying. On the 2012 sailing to Alaska, they seem to have fixed the problem. While the ship is getting a little long in the tooth, it is still one of my favorite smaller ships to sail on. Having said all this, my favorite ships are the Oasis class.

Hi All,
We are 35 days out and fully checked in via the app. Most of the info I’ve been able to find says luggage tags are normally available at about 45 days out. Also checked online on normal (not app based) website via laptop. Same thing. Shows we are checked but additional docs including luggage tags are not available. Anyone else less than 45 days and luggage tags not available?
I was told the edocs and luggage tags should show up at 30 days out.

Can't agree...they opened one in Tn and I was amazed at not only the quality but the service. Ate at one off 45 on El Dorado before our September cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it.
66 years experience eating Whataburgers and given the number of locations now you won't always find the same quality but I prefer them over every other fast food burger place.
Side note on the Hermitage Tn opening January 2022...they called the police to direct traffic as the line was so long it would take hours to process all the orders. 4 months later it was still extremely busy.
Glad to hear you enjoy them. I agree, some are better than others. I for one here in Texas have found several other places with much better burgers. What I did like were the fries and and fried pies for desert.

I'm from Texas where there is a Whataburger every couple of miles from you. Trust me, they ain't what they used to be. Sad to say.
