  1. Just to confirm a few things the others have said... 1) The beer selection is below 2016 bar and/or restaurant standards. On any ship less than a Voyager class, good luck finding something that is not a mass-produced, low-quality beer (not knocking it entirely - almost everyone likes a cold, light beer on a hot day - a stout is indeed a poor option in 90 degrees with a strong sun beating down on you). On a Voyager class ship and above, however, you ought to be able to find something of higher quality, in many different brew styles. The British pubs will likely be your best bet, if not your only bet. 2) GET THE DRINK PACKAGE!!!! Look at my attached receipt. $25 for two drinks! Do not just look at an advertised price. Look at the final price after tax and gratuity, because the Premium Package is $57 after tax and gratuity. You WILL get there very quickly. And even if you get a little drink fatigue on one day, you'll make up for it on another.
  2. I felt like they were everywhere I turned! There are definitely two in the Windjammer - one on each side. Like you said, there's one near Sorrento's, but also on the Promenade, there's one near Park Café. There are others, but I was there almost four months ago, so my old-man memory is slipping. :P (Also, we don't drink soda, so our cups are still in the wrappers.)
  3. Well, add another one for us! We may be addicted. Harmony, Jan 2017.
  4. Just go to their website: http://www.soualigadestinations.com/soualiga_destinations/Welcome.html
  5. Welcome aboard, Amy! :D B) Ah, the old drink package debate. Can AMY drink enough? That's the only real question. Every other answer is subjective. If you can drink an average of 7 a day, EVERYDAY, then get it (the "average" is based on the quantity of drinks, as well as the price of the drinks you enjoy). I consider myself a professional drinker. I drink nearly everyday. I got the Premium Package on Freedom last October. In the end, it worked out in my favor. However, there were days I was worried it wouldn't. The experience gave me new insight. Do you have a lot of port days?Don't get it. Conversely, do you have a lot sea days?Get it. Do like beers?Don't get it. The lower price will make it harder to break even. At $5-$6 per, you'll need ten a day. Do you like premium spirits like Hendricks Gin or single malt Scotch?Get it. The higher price makes is much easier to break even. At $12 per, you'll need less than 5. Do you like the idea of having the freedom to do whatever, whenever, and even if you lose out a little, it's still worth the peace of mind?Get it. You get the idea? My typical cruise day: (1) I would have Bailey's with my coffee to start the day. (2-3) I would have a pina colada or frozen margarita poolside (or both). (3-5) I would have a cocktail or two at R Bar before dinner. (4-6) I would have wine with dinner. (5-7) I would have an after dinner drink. (6-8) I would have a drink at the show. (8-11) I would have a drink or two (or three) during the evening festivities. So each day, I was somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 drinks. But, that's a sea day! If I had to be off the ship by 8 am, I'd miss the first 3-4 drinks. And, if you drink while in port, you might miss even more when you get back (because you're already buzzing nicely). Remember though, in the end I did win. There were party nights which helped to make up for the sea days. And again, I drink top shelf, so that helps. As did my wife. Final point. On the other hand, we're about to board Enchantment in 5 days, 3 hours, 6 minutes, and 7 seconds (but who's counting?). We are NOT buying a package. We're testing an idea: Drink as freely as we did on Freedom and see what the price comes out to. If it's less, no more packages. If it's more, packages. Got it? However, there is one exception to this. We've already decided that we'll be getting a package in April of 2017 when we sail on Navigator. Why? Our Canadian and British friends are joining us, and they can drink!!!! So, we're fairly sure we'll win that one! ;) (In other words, your sailing buddies can also help determine how much you'll drink.) Hope that helps.
  6. I am 99% certain there IS a humidor in the Connoisseur Club on Freedom, but I'm an old man and my memory is not what it once was.
  7. Not a fan. Maybe it was my review you found? I love the onboard entertainment typically. The dinner theater wasn't up to snuff.
  8. Is that what that is!? I had no idea! I now know, however, how to push Matt's buttons! I'll change my avatar all willy nilly! It's gonna be complete chaos!
  9. Shhh! Will you guys please pipe down! How's a guy supposed to hide out with all of your blabbing!?!?!?!?   :D :D :D :P :P :P I figured for the newbies, it'll be easier to recognize, "Oh, he's that bartender guy from Disney." I hoped it would shorten the time it takes to build rapport. I could change it back.
  10. That's thanks to Matt. He counseled me to post photos, so I post photos! (that boy loves his photos ;))
  11. Welcome aboard, Kevin (and Renee)! A repositioning as your first Royal cruise! Sounds like a blast! Which ship? Feel free to ask this group anything! Such a great resource!
  12. Doc's exactly correct! Every evening on Freedom, I'd stop at R Bar, grab a drink, take it back to the room, and sip on it while showering and getting ready for dinner. You're on a Royal Caribbean cruise! You're ROYALTY!!! You can do almost anything you'd like to do (except for streaking in the Centrum!).
  13. Welcome aboard, Stacy (and her husband)! I love the Oasis! Judging by your cruising history, so do you! Feel free to ask us all anything. Here to help.
  14. I am so on top of my travels that it's rare for us to save using a TA. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't use one for peace of mind. Remember, in the cruise industry (as opposed to land travel these days), you should never have to pay for a TA, so there's no loss (the lines pay them). Why not help a friendly TA out while also getting that peace of mind? Caveat to my method: You've gotta be a little insane to stay on top of it as much as I do. If you're a sane person and have a life to live, your TA will likely do better for you than you'll do on your own, just casually browsing.
  15. I'm telling you, brother. I keep trying to get my wife to try someone else. She's more loyal to Royal than I am. I believe that sometimes you can't know what you've got until you're experience the alternatives. Which is also why I want her to let me have many side girlfriends, but that's not working either. ;)
  16. Welcome aboard, Paulette (and hubby)! :D You're doomed! You're starting on the Ovation of the Seas! B) You'll never be able to sail any other ship or any other line ever again! ;) The amazing experience you'll have will be unbeatable! I'm totally jealous! Feel free to ask questions. We're all here to help.
  17. For the record, I brought my little swiss army knife. But, when I say "little," I mean little. It's about the size of your pinky finger. Had it in my carry-on bag.
  18. True, but I forgot to mention that I usually prepay for that as well.
