  1. We did a similar cruise last fall and are also early 50's. We hiked Pulpit Rock with the bus booked through visitNorway.com. We brought our own granola bars and waters. In Olden we booked through Olden Adventures http://oldenadventure.com/ did both the glacier and Loen. In Haugesund we did the coastal path hike https://www.fjordnorway.com/en/inspiration/day-trips/haugesund/walk-the-coastal-trail-in-haugesund. We visited Geiranger and not Flam so can't help there. For Pulpit Rock you definitely want hiking boots/shoes and a waterproof windbreaker. Lots of people were going in sneakers and in places it was slick and they struggled.
  2. You would be better off with a screenshot or copy in your apple wallet or even a paper copy. Everyone is trying to use the internet in the port and it can be VERY slow to load.
  3. If you want to visit Geiranger then I would book a cruise with a port stop there. Alesund looks like a 2 hr ferry ride to Geiranger - not sure that'd work with a port stop. Geiranger is beautiful.
  4. Mine dropped today too. Glad I re-checked. I'll keep checking daily and hopefully the DBP will drop!!
  5. Hope @Bridgetbien has an early boarding time and let's us know quickly.
  6. We used Lyft but did notice the trains were nearby but with a late night flight and unfamiliar with area went with Lyft.
  7. We just did a Norway cruise this Sept. First time we booked all of our excursions through 3rd parties and all of the offered full refunds if we didn't make port. Some of the excursions RCCL offered were easy to do on your own for free yet RCCL charged $50+ for a 15 min guided walk... Definitely check what you're getting and how far the locations are from port. Norway is a beautiful country!!
  8. We have some distinct pieces that I usually spot and grab myself. Other pieces (the normal black or blue carry-on size) we usually wait to be delivered. Haven't had an issue yet but the last few cruises have heard announcements for everyone to double check their luggage because someone is still missing a bag on day 2.
  9. Most of the excursions can be booked directly with the vendor for a much cheaper price. Something to consider. We did a similar cruise, Geiranger instead of Flam, this September and booked everything on our own for the first time and it all went smoothly.
  10. Do you happen to know the name of the tour operator or a link?
  11. When the concierge send their welcome e-mail, about 5 days before boarding, just let them know the Coastal Kitchen reservations you'd like and they will make them for you. As long as you're not in a Jr suite, those you would have to make yourself.
  12. Looking forward to this cruise next year. Did a similar one last year and loved hitting both Labadee and Coco Cay.
  13. We've booked our bus tix to Southampton, train back to London, and our excursions....just waiting to pack. Husband suggested a practice packing to see if there's anything we think we might still need. Anyone else counting down the days?
  14. My husband and I will also be on this cruise. We're doing the opposite of Cathy and spending a few days in London after the cruise. We've booked an excursion in Olden and have ideas for the other ports (but not booked yet).
  15. Jazz was one of our favorite places so last week on Oasis we walked by to see how crowded the new casino was. Literally 1 person was in there gambling.
