  1. Thank you for this. We have all been missing that sound since our cruise ended!
  2. We'll be on the same sailing! Looking forward to reading you blog and comparing the different experiences (first cruise ever, Sky class instead of Star, older kids)!
  3. Mine were shipped overnight the same week I ordered them. But, I would order them soon, just to be safe. Also, I would get two packs so you have extras on-hand in case there is an error on one of the tests, like a result comes back inconclusive and you need to take another test.
  4. Thank you, @Atlantix2000! That is good info for the future. This will be our first cruise, but I'm sure it won't be the last!
  5. Thank you both so much! You have eased my mind, a lot! I can get a replacement card in time, and will. I will also bring the printout from our Dept. of Health, just as an added source of documentation. Us CPAs do love our documentation!
  6. When I booked our rooms, I had to split us up. My kids are 15, 17, and 20. I originally booked through the RC website and it said the first person listed had to be 21+. I thought it was weird, but didn't question it. Maybe because my son is the only one over 18? Saved us money in the end since I got the DBP for myself, but didn't have to get it for my husband who doesn't really drink.
  7. I did. And all were approved within a week. Even my daughter's which had the incorrect name. I did see the thread below earlier this week, and think it burrowed into my subconscious until it cause my mini-panic attack this morning.
  8. Hi everyone, Sorry, back again with another question. This morning I was reviewing our vaccine cards and started to stress a bit over whether mine will be accepted or not. It is not one the typical CDC card, using the white cardstock paper. Instead, mine is on blue paper, folded to replicate both sides of the regular card. At the time, I didn't really care about the physical attributes of the card, I was just happy to get my vaccine. But now, I worry (I'm a worrier) it would not be acceptable and should get a replacement. Has anyone been able to board at Port Miami with a vaccine card that has ALL the required attributes, but is just on different paper? Additionally, would a replacement card cause an issue since it was not the same one I uploaded to the app during check-in? I'm already stressing out over my husband's and youngest daughter's cards since all the information is in the same handwriting. The RC FAQs state they will be looking for fraud, and I'm really hoping that everything being in the same handwriting doesn't raise any flags. I do have pictures of their original cards on my phone. My husband replaced his to consolidate his vaccines onto one card, and we had to replace my daughter's because they switched her first and middle names on the original. Aside from the vaccine test we'll take next Thursday, this is something I fear could end our first-ever cruise before it even begins.
  9. Hi everyone! I noticed that activities for our 3/19 sailing on Symphony are posted in the app (yay!). I'm intrigued by the champagne & wine tastings. Does anyone have a rough idea of how much those cost? And, I have the DBP, so would attending these be worth it? Like, do they give you champagnes & wines that you can only purchase by the bottle, or ones you can already get by the glass around the ship?
  10. Thank you @Lovetocruise2002, @CGTLH, and @fa-li! I appreciate your help and answers!
  11. Hi everyone! Our first ever cruise is in 29 days, 2 hours, 52 minutes... We'll be on Symphony of the Seas and I am so ridiculously excited! A huge thank you to @Matt and everyone in the community here. You have helped me plan, get information, and keep me super excited since we booked our cruise last year. I do have a few questions I couldn't seem to find answers to, or found conflicting information about. I'm hoping you all can give me a little clarity. Does the upstairs bed in the CLS separate into two beds? We have two and are hoping my husband and I can have one to ourselves and bump our three (ages 20, 17, 15) kids to the other one. They love each other, but not enough to share a bed. Can you order MDR meals if you are seated in Coastal Kitchen on nights other than Lobster Night? I've seen conflicting information about this. Would it depend on the ship crew? If so, has anyone done it on Symphony? I think I remember reading somewhere that suites can order the MDR menu for room service. Can you order Coastal Kitchen for room service, too? I've heard it mentioned that suites have an expanded room service menu. Is that just referring to ordering from the MDR (and maybe Coastal Kitchen), or is there even more to it? Would it be rude (or even allowed) to sit with my family at the Izumi Hibachi table but not order from the hibachi menu myself? They all want to eat at the hibachi, but I am more drawn to the Tonkatsu Ramen and stuff from the Izumi Sushi menu. We are not a "go by a schedule" type family, or at least, they are not, so we will not be booking any shore excursions in Saint Maarten or St. Thomas. I've read that it is really easy to get a cab by the cruise port. But, is it easy to get a cab elsewhere on the islands? We are really hoping to go to a perfume making class on the French side of Saint Maarten, but want to be sure it'll be easy to get a cab back to the Dutch side and back to the port. What kind of activities are available in the teen club? I don't really see much listed in the post-shutdown Cruise Compasses. Our oldest lives in a different part of the country. If the absolute worst happens and one of us other 4 test positive on the home covid test (it will not happen, it will not happen) and we have to cancel, will him not physically living with us (an therefore not a close contact) cause issues with the cancellation? I think that is it. For now. Thanks!
