We're all having to make very difficult, very personal decisions, and honestly, I don't think there's a wrong way to approach this, as long as you're making the most informed, conscious decision for yourself and those in your life.
I certainly don't fault the people who, like you, are deciding not to cruise...and I certainly can't blame the people who *will* decide to cruise if their cruise goes ahead. I'm one of those people, and I know I will be taking the utmost precautions while aboard, and I'm going to be very thankful for the aft balcony that I'll have. Between now and then, since I'm on work-from-home status for what is likely a very long stretch through the end of the year, I'm being very conscious of where I go and how I interact with the people and environment when I get there. And 99.4% of the time, it'll be the grocery store, and only with an "attack plan" -- list, awareness of what aisles everything is in, and self-scan app on my phone ready so I can immediately bag things and then go to self-checkout and do contactless payment.
I'm making the decision to cruise if I'm able for the sake of my mental health...but if anyone or anything gives me any indication that it is a very obvious risk, I will not hesitate to cancel.

That is the number of days I have kept our 30th anniversary cruise to Greece this Oct from my lovely wife. I just told her yesterday, which was our half anniversary. And yes, she freaked out a little. Keeping the secret that long was a little agonizing because, as most of you know, sharing the excitement of an upcoming cruise, is one of the best things about cruising. Let's hope as is well come Oct and yes, if things clear up and RC is cruising then, we'll be on Rhapsody!

We are hopeful for our October 8th Adventure cruise up the New England coast and Canada.  We are going with several friends that all live in different states so I really hope this is cleared up and we can all go!  I too, love my balcony time the most I think.  I love all the excitement leading up the the cruise; however, I'm afraid to get too excited just yet as it may not happen.  And to top it all off - my oldest Grandson is getting married October 24th.  I really hope the wedding will not have to be rescheduled!  Lots to stress about right now ?

I've honestly given up arguing with people about it. I'll say my point, to a point, but a lot of those who claim how you're doomed to be in a sardine can with thousands of people and guaranteed to get norovirus either let the media fear them, or aren't big cruise fans anyway. I personally figure my chances of getting sick on a cruise ship or on land is about the same. Either I come in contact with some virus or I don't. Either my body puts up a good fight or it doesn't. I don't judge you and don't care if you judge me. :)

The problem with COVID-19 is that the infected person becomes contagious even before becoming symptomatic.  There's no way of knowing who they infected before they became sick so the quarantine issue is not out of the picture.

We are leaving Saturday the 14th on Adventurer of the sea.  My wife and I are both 63 and not afraid of this corona virus.  I've been monitoring RCC and their sites to see whats going on.  I see they added hand sanitizer stations all over the ship, their going to clean staterooms 2 times a day and clean high traffic common areas every 30 minutes, (that to me sounds like continuous cleaning) of the casino, the shops, the bars, the restaurants, the activity decks, pool etc.  I have our own Cold-Eeze, hand sanitizers and other meds.  Cold-Eeze lozenges to coat the back of the throat, (thought to be where the Corona virus enters the body) and we intend to sanitize our hands after the playing at the casino, the bars, the bathrooms, the shows etc.  Ill have dried up hands but so what - Ill stay well.
I hope someone else leaving this Saturday replies to this but either way, Ill report back after, (and during) the cruise

This is what we did too!

I wouldn't like to breath recycled air all the time while in the cabin. Nothing replaces smell of fresh salty sea air before going to the bed or wonderful view when you wake up in the morning. 

I booked our Oct 2020 Greek cruise in April 2019. I was willing to pay the going rate, because I got the cabin category, JS and cabin location, Deck 8 aft corner, I wanted. That being said, my TA has already repriced the cruise twice, saving us $1400.
I have watched the flights pretty regularly once they were released at 330 days out. Being that they are overseas flights, I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes, but pulled the trigger about 3 weeks ago, when I saw what I though was a great price, compared to what I had seen in the past. As of today, those exact tickets have more than doubled in price. Will they drop below what I paid? Not sure. That's out of my hands now.
The combination of savings between the cruise repricing and airfare savings afforded us an extra night in Venice pre-cruise and left some money our pockets for spending money. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Balcony, unless it's way more expensive. Nothing better than sitting with a good book, a beer/glass of wine and watching the sea, not found anything more calming. 

Balcony for sure!  We have only had an interior on our first cruise and it was so dark and we felt like we had to go out in the hall to change our minds ?.  Anytime we are in our cabin then I will be on the balcony for a big chunk of it.
