The official reflection on your account won't happen during your trip. However, my wife was in this exact situation. She reached Diamond during a 7 night cruise with two friends, then stayed on B2B for a family trip.
All you need to do is head to the Loyalty desk during the first cruise to get the information added for the second. Your SeaPass will not say Diamond, but a sticker will be added. You'll then need to visit again to have the card activated for the Diamond Lounge.

Given the CDC’s lack of common sense, NCL decided to play to the CDC’s own guidance that vaccinated people can gather with very little risk. They decided not to muddy the waters by including children under vaccination age.
I agree with your point about the data showing children are low risk but common sense has no place at the CDC’s table. I believe that is the reason NCL is taking the black and white approach.

I'm in Kentucky also and my granddaughter is 15 and her school told them that they thought the vaccine will be available for her age group in July and September for my younger grand that is in middle school.  Fingers crossed.

No issue with a vaccine requirement (And in fact would prefer it). As for the mask I would would probably wait until it isn't required. (We haven't had to wear them hear in New Zealand as we've been covid free for nearly a year now. It'd feel strange traveling somewhere to be on a boat where I had to wear one when i can stay here and not...).

My state (KY) just opened up appointments today to people age 16 and older, and I think we've been behind a lot of other states.  Listening to our Governor today and there are a lot of available appointments across the state.  I think we are quickly reaching the point where supply may outpace demand in some areas.

My guess is they figure nothing to lose and lets try and make the CDC go on record that fully vaccinated cruises arent good enough to base a restart on ....

whitsmom reacted to twangster in Crew reconstitution? Will there be a change in strategy in how you bring them back?
What I imagine will occur for re-crewing ships will be a matter of an HR exercise to match eligible crew with ship board positions for the next ship they want to sail.
There's lots of talk of "Royal should sail here next"  or "Royal should sail there next".  That's all well and good but Royal can only crew a ship as crew are able to reach the ship and crew can be or are vaccinated.  They can't fill every ship and every position overnight.
This problem of crewing the next ship or trying to plan which ship should be next and where is complicated by public health agencies that refuse to work with the industry.
That's kind of like trying to buy a house when no mortgage lender will allow you to apply for a mortgage even though you are guaranteed to qualify.  You know your financial situation.  You believe you qualify.  You have a sizeable down payment.  You have a high paying stable job.  Your problem isn't the ability to qualify for a mortgage, your problem is the lenders aren't answering the phone, responding to emails and their websites are blank or unchanged.   You know the home you want to buy, you know when you need to move, but you are stuck in limbo waiting for a lender to take your phone call.  The lights are on but nobody's home.
That makes it very challenging to commit to the next ship and port where you are going to send resources.
Singapore and Israel are example of what occurs when governments work with industry.   Cruise lines can play the game when they know what sport they are playing and where the goal posts are.
It's really hard to build a team when you don't know what sport is going to be allowed to be played on the field.
In an ideal world cruise lines would have a clear path to restarting.  That doesn't exist today so it makes the job of bringing crew back incredibly difficult.

I have a bag in my closet with sample sizes of EVERYTHING we could possibly need on a trip.  I have the small plastic bottles cosmetic counters use for foundation samples, fill 2 with my foundation more than covers a week & take up no room.  Pressed powder, bronzer, deodorant, when there’s only a weeks worth left they go in the bag.  Take them & toss them.  Take my toothbrush & toss that too, come home to a fresh clean one.  My family just rolls their eyes.

Since we're talking about a foreign flagged vessel, possibly owned by a foreign subsidiary and sailing out of foreign ports, I'm not sure US law applies to these sailings.

I have sailed NCL a few times and I think they are just fine.  We decided to stick with Royal until we make Pinnacle but honestly, I would go on a NCL without hesitation.  Just like Carnival...I would recommend that you stick with the newer ships, but NCL is a good cruise line, IMO.
BTW, I hate hearing that August is a no-go.  That SUCKS !

PoM (Port of Miami) is a great port to sail from especially for Oasis class which always sail from Royal's newest terminal, the Crown of Miami.

I've been fortunate to sail in suites so I can access the suite lounge in the terminal.

The sail away from Miami is pretty cool as well.

Plus you sail right past Miami Beach.

It's a cool port to arrive back into if you are a morning person.

The cruiseline has stated their ship will be a 100% vaccinated zone. The CDC has stated those vaccinated do not need to worry about social distancing or masking amongst themselves.

My 30 plus years in medical practice does tell me that the current vaccines are effective against all known variants; due to the fact that we aren’t seeing any outbreaks of any unknown variant in the vaccinated population.

If this were to pass (a snowball in he** comes to mind), will the Alaskan congressional contingent then petition the CBP to waive visa requirements for the ships, or will they be staffing them from Alaska's citizens?

Moot point, as the Alaskan season is being cancelled one month at a time by the CDC.

Originally I was heavy on the side of team "I don't care as long as I am on a cruise" but as I actually sat and thought it through I am drifting towards the no side of the fence.
My original logic formed before the vaccine rollout and at that point wearing the mask seemed like a reasonable extension of what we see every day (side note the level of mask wearing proposed on board exceeds that required by State of Florida, but still reasonable so ok).
Throwing in the 100% vaccination requirement, although it doesn't change what the impact of wearing a mask on my daily activities/cruise enjoyment would be, does the change the "why". The whole point of 100% vaccination in my mind would be so that you wouldn't have to have heavy mask/distancing requirements.
At this point I would probably pass on the cruise under those conditions and hit a Florida hotel/resort where I can enjoy the pool without a mask, head to the restaurant/bar without a mask (while seated at table or bar) and do a Disney/Universal day (with mask), rather than a cruise ship where I have to mask pool side, mask everywhere else, only take masked ship provided excursions, etc. all while being around a reduced capacity group of people that have all had to prove they are vaccinated already.
One restriction or the other sure, but both just seems like overkill.

I wouldn't cruise without a passport. If there is an emergency and you need to fly home it's essential. And you're not going to leave your kids behind and fly home, so get them one too!
