  1. We are doing a 7 day Alaska cruise and 3 day inland post cruise tour for 10 days total. So with that, I will get 10 points and I only need 10 points to make Emerald! ?
  2. I will be on the Radiance July 13th. I have AT&T but I also got the VOOM. I read several places that AT&T is good in the port area but you never know...
  3. Oh No! I hope they gets your situation resolved quickly. I have never heard of that happening at the terminal. I know that I would be a basket case about now if that were to happen to me. ?
  4. I'm looking forward to viewing Alaska thru all the glass views aboard the Radiance. We will be on her in 21 days...
  5. I get motion sick easy too. I take over the counter non-drowsy chew-able tablets. I also have to take it when I fly along with having a window seat so that I can see out. The big ships are better for the movement sensitive. I will be on the Radiance in a few weeks so with it being smaller, I will use the tablets for sure. As a note - I have never gotten sick on any cruise.
  6. For the past 2 weeks he had a few chest pains that only lasted about a minute or so. Then Thursday morning at 2:30 am, he had chest pain that went thru to his back and wouldn't go away. I gave him 4 baby aspirins (equals 1 whole one) and took him to the ER (I wanted to call 911 and he wouldn't let me). ER got in straight back and did blood work checking for the "t" enzyme. He did have the enzyme show up but only slight. 2nd blood draw in 3 hours was up a little more so they admitted him. At 3 pm same day, he had very strong chest pains and the nurses gave my nitroglycerin and aspirin and called the doctor. More blood work was done and enzyme was up a good bit. Having him already in the hospital is was saved him because treatment was done immediately. For what it's worth, every EKG the normal (even immediately after this bad attack), his blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen rates were all good. So being already at the hospital with our early warning signs is all that saved him. If he had been out working or even at home, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.
  7. Very blessed and grateful for sure. With only 2-5% even survive to get to the hospital. We are high school sweethearts, married for 42 years and our plans are to grow old together!
  8. That's basically what the Doctor said too!
  9. We got 133 pictures on ours last July on the Oasis
  10. Yes it will be! We have some excursions planned but nothing strenuous.
  11. I got the drink package for our Alaska cruise only because we are going the three other couples and would maybe drink a little more. There really is no way will with get our monies worth; however, it have been paid for a while and that is something we won't have to think about. Now that hubby had a heart attack, he will probably not use much in the way of alcohol.
  12. Well to say that we are extremely grateful is an understatement! Hubby had a heart attack this past Thursday, heart cath on Friday to find what the doctors call the "widow maker" with the main artery in his heart 99% blocked. They were able to fix it with a balloon and stint. We came home on Saturday and other than being very sore is feeling pretty good. He has to take it easy for a few weeks. I asked the doctor about flying for our Alaska cruise and he said he could fly in 4 weeks. We were 2 days shy of the 4 weeks and the doctor gave his blessing. I did have trip insurance but thankful that he is still here and to be able to still go. Hubby is very active and that was in his favor too.
  13. I do this also. That way I can have stuff to watch at the airport, during flight, and sometimes at night.
  14. I was thinking of wearing a sweatshirt and jacket on our July flight for Vancouver (Alaska cruise) but hubby thought that was too crazy even for me ?
  15. We will be on the Radiance in exactly 30 days and I can't wait. They say that with the smaller ship we can get closer to the coast line and Hubbard's Glacier so for me I feel like the views are part of the experience for Alaska. Also, four people of our eight have never cruised before so I'm sure the Radiance will seem huge to them.
  16. It has never been an issue for me; however, I have never cruised out of Stockholm.
  17. That would be what my hubby did! He is such an adventurous eater...NOT! ?
  18. I wasn't sure how it all worked. We just had one of us make the reservations just in case. We are all friends from 3 different states so we don't see each other too often.
  19. It was real on the Oasis. My hubby ate it every night!
  20. This is what I did on the Oasis last summer. Throw a few bottles of water in there and you will get your monies worth for sure. I got mine for $18/day sales price.
  21. Oh fun! I have always wanted to try it. There are 8 of us with our reservations linked so I think we will be at the same table. This will be my first time at Giovanni's Table also. We fly out in 37 days so hopefully, the time will pass quickly!
  22. Our group of 8 (adults) just booked the Mystery Dinner Theater (Radiance - July). I have never done one of these so I'm not sure what all we have to do. Can anyone give me the scoop on how this works? It will be at Giovanni's Table on night #4. I think they only have it once during the week.
  23. Our first was in 1993 on the Majesty! It was our first and only inside cabin. Our daughter was 15 and didn't want to sleep on the "wall bed" as she called it, so Daddy got to sleep up there! Our cabin steward thought she slept up there and left her two chocolates on the pillow every night. We also would laugh and say that we had to go outside our room to change our mind because our room was so tiny! One night we had some rough waves and it was late so we were booking also. As we were walking down the hall back to our cabin, we couldn't even walk straight for the rough seas and it almost looked like we were staggering (to which my 15 year old said - "People will think I'm drunk!) To make it even crazier, we had just moved into our new home just 3 weeks prior. Needless to say, we were ready for some R&R!
