  1. Have her bring her one Yeti or Hydro-type water bottle and just pour it in. This is what I plan on doing for us.
  2. I think they use the date not the time; however, I am not 100% on that. We will be having to take our eMed tests the day before we fly home to US in August so I will have to double check the time so that I make sure it is the correct date. This testing is such a stressful thing for me worrying about the exact timing and everything else. I understand that the pre-cruise testing will stay for a while but I hope they drop the one to fly back home to US.
  3. Your wife's deluxe package being cancelled won't cancel yours; however, you will need to call so that they can do it and add the refreshment package.
  4. We usually tip the extra at the end handing it to them in person. Anything over and above the standard is greatly appreciated for sure. We have been lucky in that we have had great cabin stewards, waitstaff, and bartenders.
  5. We just wore smart casual the entire time and we had to pack warmer clothes for most of the excursion and while out on the decks. That is what most everyone did on the Radiance for our northern passage cruise. I don't remember anyone dressed in formal (July 2018).
  6. I get the refreshment package as I don't drink much alcohol anyway. In addition to the mocktails, you can get bottled water, soda, specialty coffees, milk shakes from Johnny Rockets, and fresh squeezed OJ. So it is well worth it for me.
  7. We love the Radiance class for the reason it is smaller and lots of water views. We were on the Radiance of the Seas for our Alaska cruise and loved it. The pool is really irrelevant for us as we rarely use that feature. Being a smaller ship allows you to go places that the big mega ships cannot go and that is one of the things we appreciate in a smaller ship. We do like the big ships too when we go with family/grand kids. It just boiled down to what you are looking for in a cruise vacation. We are super busy and work long hours so I really enjoy having some down time to actually relax.
  8. Well we are booked on our 1st Fall Foliage cruise for the 4th Time....They kept cancelling it and Lifting and Shifting so we finally took the FCC and applied it to our July Harmony cruise with the family. Hopefully this one stays!!! We will be on the Jewel this August for our British Isles cruise and now the Jewel for the Fall Foliage (10 Night) cruise in October 2023.
  9. I was afraid you would have to cancel. I will have to share our pictures of our trip with you guys. I look forward to cruising getting back to normal (if that is even possible now)!
  10. I will be looking for the correct line for sure. We are on the Harmony mid-July and it is the first time we have gotten the Key. We can't do our check in until June 2nd so I hope we get an early time slot.
  11. We are on the Jewel in Mid-August out of Amsterdam. We do have travel insurance, vax'd and boosted. Hopefully, herd immunity will be kicking in soon and they start treating C19 like it was the flu. I hope you test negative soon and your mother stays negative and you get to fly back home shortly.
  12. Did they have a line for the ones with the "Key"?
  13. Traveling to the Netherlands: negative COVID-19 test result no longer required. From 23 March 2022 people traveling to the Netherlands from outside the EU/Schengen area no longer need to show a negative test result. Check the current rules for entering the Netherlands. As of March 23, 2022 no test needed to fly into Amsterdam! This is from Amsterdam's Government Website
  14. We test on Wednesday for Friday cruise. The day of the cruise doesn't count in the 2-day so we are good on that front. Amsterdam did have a 3-day before arrival but I think they have already dropped that. Only need testing for the cruise. It wouldn't hurt my feeling for all testing to be stopped. We are fully vax and boosted so we are good with that as a requirement to enter Amsterdam.
  15. We are traveling to Amsterdam in August from USA. We will test on Wednesday morning before our 6 pm flight, we land on Thursday early afternoon, and board the ship on Friday. As far as returning home after the cruise, we are taking our eMed tests with us and trying to do them the night before we disembark. I am worried about having good VOOM reception so we may have to do it early morning when we are closer to port when it is turned off (within 12 miles of port -I think) and we can use our own internet. If we still can't get it to work, then we will have to do testing at the airport. However, I REALLY hope that the testing to return home to USA will be dropped by then......
  16. We mostly eat breakfast in the MDR and they have it there. We prefer a more relaxed/quieter breakfast and the MDR fits the bill. Most of the time we get our Waiter we have for dinner and we get extra special care! If we see that they are working in there, we will asked to be seated in their section.
  17. There is usually a "drink of the day" that is at a cheaper cost but I am not sure about happy hour pricing. I'm not a big drinker so I just get the refreshment package and buy as I go for the alcohol because it saves me money.
  18. Great minds think alike! I bought these for us and used them in February when we flew to Cancun.
  19. We have done this many times, just put it in your checked luggage.
  20. i usually take a travel size bottle of laundry detergent just in case. Only used it once but I would rather take it and not use it that to need it and not have any. I also take some travel "shout" wipes too (especially when the Grands are with us).
  21. I always that an old gift card for lights, an over-the-door pocket/shoe hanging to keep all the OTC, sunscreens, and all the other stuff (this is always the first thing I pack!), heavy duty magnets, and the last time I took collapsing/pop-up laundry hamper type thing for dirty clothes. I have my 8-slot USP charging port that we take that everything can be in one place. I also take a small motion night-light for the bathroom.
  22. Hopefully, the signal will come from the Alaska side and you should still be good. We have the business plan with AT&T so that may be why we have Canada on ours. Fingers crossed that you will be lucky like we were.
