  1. Well, I'm glad you got some satisfaction from "THEM". BTW: When I'm not satisfied, I mean really not satisfied with something, I write a letter, yes I use snail mail, to the CEO of whatever company. I once got a phone call, within a couple of weeks of sending a letter, from the CEO of Chevron. I'm now loyal to Chevron because he took the time to listen and then took the appropriate action.
  2. I just eat and now I'm hungry, again. Stooooooooop already. I'm still trying to lose weight from my last cruise, damnit.
  3. Serious question: Have you ever actually used that email address and gotten an answer from "HIM"?
  4. Never mind, I found this: https://www.royalcaribbeanpresscenter.com/video/304/a-sensational-sandwich-royal-caribbeans-kummelweck-tantalizes-guests/
  5. I like just about any sliced beef sandwich with horseradish, the hotter the better. Don't like that Mayo type crap like you get at Arby's. et al.
  6. My eyes, my eyes, it hurts. Some things you just can't unsee!
  7. I would guess that they (Royal) is waiting on the CDC to make changes, if any, and make adjustments, if any, from there. I'd also guess that if the CDC doesn't make any changes by Royal's drop dead date(s), the dates would just be extended. JMHO
  8. When we were there a couple of years ago, we used the public transportation system (bus), it was inexpensive (all day passes and I think they offered two or three or both day passes), you got to meet and talk to the locals, and it will take you to or next to whatever you want to see. If we ever go back, we'll do it for each day we visit, not the last full day, like we did. Hope you enjoy, it's a nice place. No high pressure sales people jumping out from the doorway of the shop almost assaulting you to go inside and buy something, like most of the Caribbean nations, except Grand Cayman, they didn't have high pressure there either, not that we experienced . Also, I was never asked If I wanted to buy and dope.
  9. https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/cruise/management/technical-instructions-for-cruise-ships.html [5] At this time, children under the age of 5 years (i.e., children who are not eligible for COVID-19 vaccines) will not be counted when determining the percentage of passengers on board who are fully vaccinated or up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines. [8] For a ship to be listed with a Vaccination Standard of Excellence classification on CDC’s Cruise Ship Color Status webpage, the cruise line has committed to operate the ship with at least 90% passengers (excluding children under 5 years of age) and 95% crew up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines. Summary of Past Changes May 05, 2022 Changed cruise ship vaccination status thresholds from 95% of passengers to 90% of passengers. March 18, 2022 Provided quarantine cabin options for close contacts identified within 36 hours before disembarking. February 18, 2022 Clarified that children under the age of 5 years will not be counted when determining the percentage of passengers on board who are fully vaccinated or up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines. EDITED IN: I can't find anything on Royal's site that addresses those that are between 5 and under 12, what happens if the ship is at 90% or less vaccinated. If they are at, say 94%, no problem. However, I will do a stretch here and say that if they do follow their own protocols, it would be easy to stay at 90% and above, expecially if 4 year olds and younger aren't counted in the 90%. Also, Royal, like I have said many times, is in the business of getting people on the ship not keeping them off of it. I'm sure they will bend themselves into a pretzel trying to find a way to allow the 5 - 11 year old kids that aren't vaccinated on the ship. Not to mention it wouldn't be good public relations to turn away a family because of a % point. If you are going to try to get on the ship anyway, I'd have the kid(s) do the pre-cruise testing (the PCR test) and hope for the best, show your good intentions, and have on your best sad little puppy dog faces.
  10. Once again, there are way too may variables to give a definite answer other than there is a policy that states that you must be 16 or older to utilize the Solarium. Some ships, some crew, some other folks may or may not enforce it. That is all!
  11. This isn't intended to be contrary to your statement, it's funny. People just need to know what TSAs mission is. And it ain't Law Enforcement, at least not the TSOs that work the Mag machines at the airport. True, if they open, legally, a bag and find what they believe is a controlled substance or other illegal/prohibited items, they can call Law enforcement in. But, they, the TSOs (Transportation Safety Officers), have no arrest powers and don't carry weapons. That's why local law enforcement are always hanging around the inspection areas. Their mission isn't Law Enforcement, it's to "Protect the nation's transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce". Doesn't say a word about Law Enforcement. https://www.tsa.gov/about/tsa-mission
  12. Edited In: 16 year old folks are permitted to to traverse the Solarium to get from one side of the ship to the other and they are allowed to go into the Solarium Bistro. I did see a lady confront a young lady once, not in a very friendly way, and the girl told the lady that she was coming from the restroom and going back into the Bistro with her family. So, if you are a self appointed cop, be careful, you may just embarrass yourself. I'd contact a crew member and let them deal with it.
  13. I think it's more important to check the maturity level of far too many, so called adults. As much as I prefer to cruise when kids are less likely to cruise, I'd much prefer to put up with kids than the out of control, so called adults. I'd be much more receptive to share the Solarium with a well behaved 15 year old than those idiots yelling, screaming, yelling out obscenities, degrading people, looking for confrontation, and just plain obnoxious, so called adults. I enjoy a drunken good time as much as anybody. But, I don't upset the apple cart, step on others toes, try to ruin others good times.
  14. In this blog there is a "Roll Call" section for every Royal ship and probably all, if not most, of their sailings for about a year out. If not, create one. That's a great place to find social events for just about anything, not just the 18 - 20 year old ages. Again, if you don't find a social gathering for the 18 - 20 year old ages, start one. I'm going to start one for sexy senior citizens, 70 and above to have a fashion show of Speedos, T-bars, and/or thongs. I'm encouraging all to get involved.
  15. We generally cruise during hurricane season because of our Grandkids and their school schedule. We've had itinerary changes, port cancelations, embarkation delays by a day. But, it all was good. I just love being on the ship, period. However, our preferred cruise timing is one week before Thanksgiving or one week after. Or, one week before Christmas or one week after New Year when it's just the two of us. It seems less kids onboard and sometimes the price is a little better, too.
  16. I fully support @Paid4c4's post. This may sound like I don't but I do. Just a little experience that you may want to be aware of: We have Pre-Check. Why? I don't know other than I have to have the latest and greatest! Anyway, on our way back home from Seattle, we go through the Pre-Check line, we don't remove our shoes or belts. Well, the beeper goes off because of my metal belt buckle AND my wife and I both have bionic knees. There is no body scan at the kiosk we went through. So, we are told to follow one of the TSA agents. We walk from one side, the very first kiosk on the left to the very last kiosk on the right to go through the body scan device. All the time, I have my wallet, electronics bag, and drone sitting somewhere over at the first kiosk area. We actually had to wait for a TSA agent to become available to do the body scan. It wasn't long but it was a bit of a wait. So, I suggest that you take any clothing and/or accessories that contain metal off before going through the mag machine. People say, including the surgeon, that the replacement joint will not effect security Mags. Well, when I'm not going through Pre-Check, I always take off my belt, if wearing one, ring, and so on. I try to make myself invisible to the mag machines. My wife does the same. Well, the mag machines ALWAYS go off on us. This includes getting on a Royal cruise ship. We get the wand treatment. They can't find anything with the wand and then it's like a light goes off in their head, "do you have any metal joints, screws or plates?" Yes, Okay go ahead.
  17. We ALWAYS just put our last names on them. However, I've always felt uncomfortable about it. But then, I look at my luggage and every piece of my luggage has an airline tag on them with First, Last name and address on them. So, I just go ahead and put our last name on the cruise tags. If you are convinced that you don't need to put your identification information on the bags, I was thinking of just putting your booking # on the tag. That should identify you even if a last minute room change. BTW, we always put a copy of the luggage tag sheet and ticket inside and on top of our luggage. If we fly, which is doubtful, I would put a copy of my airline ticket inside and on top of my luggage, too.
  18. When the all inclusive beverages aren't included in my cruise cost, I get the refreshment package. Well worth it. I drink a lot sparkling water on a cruise. We're not big coffee drinkers, maybe one cup in the AM, so we don't get it for coffee. My recommendation, buy the package now and keep an eye open for a sale of it between now and cruise day (or whatever the drop dead date is). If the price gets lower, than buy the lower priced package and cancel the higher priced one, you'll get a refund in just a few day on your C.C. It's easy peasy.
  19. Me either. However, there are still those out there that have THEIR doubts. I'm just happy to see positive clarification, one more time, from experience of this. There is still muddy waters out there. I could have done the same if the employees at pier 91 in Seattle would have even asked to check my COVID documents. But, they didn't.
  20. Yes, we have one more, of a few, clear and concise answers to the ever lasting question. Good job. Now on to the second part of the question, how things go at the terminal.
  21. There are, or at least were, lots of monkeys in the Sea Grape plants between the FLL airport and Port Everglades.
