I've stayed multiple times at the Hilton DoubleTree, which is across the street from Harrah's. It allows you to be a few blocks from the French Quarters, near the casino, and riverwalk/convention center district. Also, have stayed at Embassy Suites that is 3-4 blocks away from Harrah's in the convention center district. There are many other hotels around the convention center too.

We've used the following motion sensor lights from Harbor Freight Tools store - bright blue light, however, not too bright. We've used one on our last 3 cruises as well as have them around our home for every day use. LED Motion Sensor Light (harborfreight.com) Enjoy and happy cruising!

The post @TheMaxRebo had above is the same set-up we had on SOS a few weeks ago with a standard ocean balcony room. The outlet was on the right side of the bed, the bed was set-up close to the balcony sliding door. Our friends room next door had the bed set-up closer to the bathroom, so I don't know which side of the bed they had the power outlet.

I used Amex last year and this year while in both of those ports without any issues. Agree, best to carry a back-up MC or Visa. Enjoy your trip.

I prefer the Soutern itinerary, however, not for the $2k increase for 1 additional night. The Souther ports A - B - C are some of my favorites.

I believe the eliminated the cigar/smoking lounges on the ships. We smoked cigars up on the pool deck in the designated smoking area on the Allure in March of 2022.
