  1. @Ampurp85 Was your door the ghost magnet? I saw you posted a picture and my kids loved that magnet and that's how we knew we were in the right corridor until we got our bearings a bit. We thankfully never really had any issues, other than the strong weed smell on our balcony the first few days. I played Craps after kids were in bed a few times and never ran into issues there either so I missed most of the chaos. I am hopeful your next adventure will be much more stress free.
  2. An unexpected adventure, my nine year old fell off of my bed (normal size bed), but must have hit just right to fracture his ankle and he will be in a walking boot for the cruise. I'm sure he will still find a way to have fun, but it is a bit of a downer for him. I am looking forward to the trip (my wife says if we take the kids it's a trip not a vacation) and we will just adapt to doing certain things. Plenty of fun to be had still. I hope you all are fairing better than us (well I'm still probably better off than @Ampurp85's adventure) and I hope you all have a great cruise!
  3. My wife and I did this last year. The blue hole is gorgeous and a lot of fun. I wish we had more time at Blue Hole versus the river tubing. It felt like only 30 minutes or so at the Blue Hole in terms of actually in the water, but that could be different from day to day not really sure. River Tubing think more like a lazy river in natural settings. I think teens would enjoy it, but the river tubing is very low key.
  4. I've also only done head first and it was great. I am not normally a thrill seeker/adrenaline junky, type of person, but this was enjoyable for me. It was still a bit unnerving for me to fall forwards, but you overcome that pretty quickly and enjoy the view.
  5. My wife and I did our first cruise last year and we were on Harmony and absolutely loved everything about it. This time it will be a slightly different experience as all 6 kids of ours will be in tow, but we are taking my parents to help! I am looking forward to family time and fun! If you see a spectacle of 6 kids ages 11 to 3 that's probably us.
  6. This was exactly what my wife and I were looking for as well. The beds by the infinity pool fill up pretty quick so you will want to be early off the boat to get a day bed. It was glorious. I, personally, would go up to $200 pp for it, but we have 6 kids so time away is at way more of a premium than money. Every person is going to be different on that, but the serene environment you are describing is precisely what we felt like we were provided. The restaurant was great. Overall it was one of my favorite places on earth. I wouldn't do the beach club with my kiddos, but can't wait to go back.
  7. Correct. It was straight across in the interior hallway.
  8. We just did Blue Hole and River tubing. Check and see how long you are in port that day. Blue Hole was beautiful, but it felt like we were there for only 30 minutes. We jumped one waterfall and did one rope swing and then we were back on the bus. It is about 1 hour 45 min bus ride each way so that took a good portion of our time. I enjoyed the River tubing, but probably would have preferred to spend the whole day at blue hole. Make sure you bring water shoes. We did blue hole first. We left everything we didn’t want to get wet on the bus. If you want your phone make sure it’s in a waterproof case. As soon as we were done with blue hole we got back on the bus and sat on our towels until we got to the River tubing. Probably a 15-20 minute drive. Again leaving everything on the bus you didn’t want wet. We ate lunch at Plantation restaurant. It was a set menu with the choices being jerk chicken, beans/rice, slaw and a vegetarian option. I would imagine bringing food in your pack wouldn’t be an issue. The bus stays with you the whole time. You do get pushed to tip each of the hosts, I was expecting this, but if you were not it would be uncomfortable. We had a guide for blue hole that we tipped, a guide for the River tubing, the bus driver, and our guide for the day/host that talked during the drive that was in charge for the day. We were in Jamaica from 8:30-4:00 and it was tight with this excursion. They had said if we ran into traffic we were going to pick up our lunch instead of eating at the restaurant. Yours could be different with it being blue hole and the falls, but we enjoyed just wished we had more time.
  9. We just got off Harmony and did all the specialty restaurants at least once. We had Chops scheduled for lunch on our last sea day, but were generally underwhelmed and opted to do Johnny Rockets for lunch instead. I loved Izumi, both the Hibachi and the sushi side. Wonderland was a fun experience and the food was good, just different compared to what I normally eat. Jamie’s was delicious and I got the burger. I am normally not the biggest Mexican inspired food fan and my wife is, but I actually liked Sabor more than her. She was very disappointed with the guac, thinking it was flavorless, but I don’t like guac so that didn’t impact me. I did love the Barbacoa from Sabor and got it both times. My favorite and it was a surprise to me because I was almost expecting to not really like it was 150 Central Park. The bread, the lobster thermidor, the fried cheesecake. It was all so good! All the wait staff at the restaurants treated you as if you were the most important person and you could tell they genuinely wanted to make sure you left happy. Enjoy! I don’t think you can go wrong with whatever you pick.
  10. We were just in 9636 and the map posted above seems accurate. Ours had a slight slant and the two next to ours were straight across.
  11. We just got off Harmony and it was our first time cruising so nothing to really compare it to, but we cannot wait to go back! We were also in a JR suite with the UDP and so that may change some of our experiences. We booked all of our shows the first day and had no problems seeing everything we wanted to. We also booked all of our specialty restaurants the first day and it was a super easy process for us. Beds were great, staff were great. I only wish I had more time on the ship. The only time we felt like we were waiting for any amount of time was cafe promenade for my wife’s specialty coffees. Not a huge deal, but it was a longer wait than I anticipated, but probably not outside the norms of what you would wait at a Starbucks. We also never did room service so I can’t really speak to that either. I am sorry your son has Covid and hopefully he recovers quickly and your next experience with Royal is more closely aligned with what you were hoping. I hope you were able to make the best of it!
  12. Did you live blog your trip? I would love to read more and you are super helpful with tips!
  13. Ha. I was joking, but I greatly appreciate your offer. I will take you up on what is your favorite sushi from Izumi?
  14. This is exactly what I need! If you could go through and tell me each restaurant to eat at and what I should order I would greatly appreciate it! Lol. Seriously though it was great to get your take on it and my desire for my first cruise next week is only increasing!
  15. This makes me anxious, but I appreciate the insight to your experience. I was so looking forward to Blue Hole.
