  1. It very much seems like the infrastructure around the terminal has not yet caught up to the impressiveness of the terminal itself. Some local hotels don’t have shuttles to the port yet and rides from the terminal are too few for the number of passengers. I expect those things will catch up pretty quickly, as there is a lot of money to be made off cruise ship passengers.
  2. We were offered 10-10:30 as the latest time slot for disembark. Not sure what the most effective means of travel would be, but, at least as of last week, you couldn’t uber from the port - you had to go three blocks away. Lyft was allowed on site but getting one booked was very difficult and the prices just kept shooting up. Maybe a reserved shuttle would save you a headache.
  3. The cruise we just got off of stopped being listed as well, likely because it was sold out. Unless you’ve received word from Royal of a change, you’re probably good.
  4. I don’t do royal up with connecting rooms because it only applies to one of the bookings, meaning if you successfully bid on an upgrade, you will still be stuck with one of the connecting rooms and the upgraded room.
  5. Never had an issue with noise and I very much prefer the easy access. Yay from me.
  6. Just got off Allure and the medical center was not run very well at all. The intake nurse had no list of patients in the waiting room and just called “next” from inside the facility. I was shocked at how many people (guests and crew alike) would stroll right past a waiting room full of people almost immediately upon arrival just because something as basic as a sign-in sheet wasn’t being used. (Although this does correlate with the psychological condition that seems to inflict people immediately upon setting foot on a ship that causes them to no longer understand what a line is. My doctorate thesis is forthcoming.) The same intake nurse insisted that my Royal Caribbean travel insurance would not cover my visit and that it only applied if I had to be seen by a medical facility at one of the ports of call. After an hour of waiting, I chose to deal with the pain for the remainder of trip rather than keep losing vacation time below deck.
  7. The thing is, Adventure Dunes mini golf shows up as a venue but the slides aren’t there either.
  8. We’re going on Adventure in two months and its water slides aren’t showing up on the app. Has something happened to them? Are they closed currently?
  9. We’ve got a couple beach excursions planned for our cruise next week and the weather indicates rain and thunderstorms. Will this weather result in our excursions being cancelled? Seems like thunderstorms at the beach isn’t the safest option…
  10. I just got the same email and here’s the question that I have - We’ve heard on the boards here that Galveston is not enforcing arrival times. So is this something we actually need to follow or will we be putting ourselves at the back of the line of all the people who don’t follow directions?
  11. I found it enlightening when he spoke of the lack of tenure among RCCL staff post-pandemic. That would make a lot of sense why they were able to handle the expanded menu before Covid and not after.
  12. My travel agent has surprised us with birthday cake onboard and Christmas cookies on land. She’s also put up with having to lift and switch multiple cruises around because of changes to work schedules and Covid policies and the like
  13. Aha! It turns out you can book brunch through the app but not the cruise planner.
  14. While I love the classics menu, MDR does make it difficult to also see the shows and there has also been a lot of talk lately of the food quality going downhill. We last sailed in July and could not ever count on getting out drinks refilled during dinner, so the servers must have been stretched pretty thin, as well. Hopefully the sacrifice of the larger menu provides a better overall experience. And hopefully they don’t charge for extra lobsters on lobster night. That would be a travesty.
  15. Same boat. Suddenly we’ve graduated to hunting for the 30% off every passenger deals
  16. Do you have to wait until you’re onboard to book brunch at Mason Jar? Or will it show up as an option on the app/cruise planner leading up to the sailing? Thanks!
  17. It’s really #4. You get to pick your check in time from those still available.
  18. Cruises to the Caribbean in late 2024 through early 2025 will open for bookings during the week of December 12. Source: https://cruisefever.net/royal-caribbean-announces-deployment-schedule-for-2024-2025-cruises/ What does this mean, practically? If I login at 12:01 am on 12/12, will all the sailings be open? Do I need to check back throughout the week as more options are updated? Thanks all!
